คาํ นาํ

ในปจจุบันการเรียนรูภาษาตางประเทศ(ภาษาอังกฤษ) มีความสาํ คัญและจาํ เปนอยางยิ่งในชีวิตประจําวัน
เนื่องจากเปนเครื่องมือในการติดตอส่ือสาร การแสวงหาความรู การประกอบอาชีพ การสรางความเขาใจเก่ียวกับ
วัฒนธรรมและวิสัยทัศนของชุมชนโลก ชวยพัฒนาผูเรียนใหมีความเขาใจตนเองและผูอื่นดีขึ้น และสามารถใชภาษา
ตางประเทศเพื่อการสื่อสารไดอยางมีประสิทธิภาพ

แบบฝกเสริมทักษะการอานภาษาอังกฤษ ชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปที่ 6 จัดทําขึ้นเพ่ือใชประกอบการจัดการเรียนรูและ
พัฒนาผลสัมฤทธ์ิทางการเรียนวิชาภาษาอังกฤษใหกับผูเรียน รายวิชาภาษาอังกฤษ 5 รหัสวิชา อ 33101
ชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปที่ 6 ผูเรียนจะไดฝกทักษะทางภาษาเพิ่มเติมดวยตนเองซึ่งสอดคลองกับหลักสูตรแกนกลางการศึกษา
ขั้นพ้ืนฐาน พุทธศักราช 2551 ท่ีเนนผูเรียนเปนสeคัญ มีการจัดกิจกรรมการเรียนรูใหผูเรียนมีทักษะในการคิด การ
จัดการ การฝกปฏิบัติเกิดการเรียนรูอยางตอเนื่อง ซึ่งจะเปนการกระตุนใหผูเรียนสามารถพัฒนาทักษะทางภาษา
เพื่อน าไปใชประโยชนในการติดตอส่ือสาร รวมทั้งมีทัศนคติท่ีดีตอการเรียนวิชาภาษาตางประเทศ

แบบฝกเสริมทักษะการอานภาษาอังกฤษชุดน้ีมีจํานวน 1 เลมมีเน้ือหาที่มุงเนนใหผูเรียนเกิดความรู ความ
เขาใจในการใชภาษาอังกฤษในชีวิตประจําวันสามารถนาํ ไปใชสื่อสารไดถูกตองเหมาะสมกับบุคคลและกาลเทศะ ซ่ึงใน
แบบฝกเสริมทักษะการอานภาษาอังกฤษชุดนี้ มีความรูและแบบฝกหัดท่ีใหผูเรียนไดปฏิบัติตามกิจกรรมจนเกิดความ
เขาใจ สามารถถายทอด และใชภาษาในการสื่อสารไดอยางมีประสิทธิภาพ ถูกตองชัดเจน ตามสถานการณตาง ๆ

What is Newspaper?

A newspaper is a serial publication containing news about current events,
other informative articles about politics, sports, arts, and so on, and
advertising. A newspaper is usually printed on relatively inexpensive, low-
gradepaper such as newsprint. The journalism organizations that publish
newspapers are themselves often metonymically called newspapers. As of 2017,
most newspapers are now published online as well as in print. The online
versions are called online newspapers or news websites. Newspapers are
typically published daily or weekly.

News magazines are also weekly, but they have a magazine format.
General-interest newspapers typically publish news articles and feature
articles on national and international news as well as local news. The news
includes political events and personalities, business and finance, crime,
weather, natural disasters, health and medicine, science, computers and
technology, sports, entertainment, society, food and cooking, clothing , home
fashion and the arts.

PARTS OF NEWSPAPER

1.Newspapers are usually divided into different sections. Each section covers
a particular type of news.

1. Index It is the list all the parts of newspaper. A newspaper is an alphabetical
list of news articles.

2. Headline The words printed in large type across the top of a newspaper
article to catch the reader’s attention.

3. Dateline The words at the beginning of a news article that tells when and
where the article was written.

4. News Article In a newspaper, a story about an event that has just taken place.
5. Feature Article In a newspaper, a detailed report on a person, an issue, or an
event.
6. Editor One of the people who runs a newspaper.
7. Editorial An article in which the people who run a newspaper give their
opinion on an important issue.
8. Classified ad an ad that appears in the classified or “want ad” section of
the newspaper

HOW TO READ THE
NEWSPAPER

A good way to get into newspaper reading.
1. Find a good, reliable, local newspaper.
2. Make sure the newspaper is reputable, not a tabloid with gossip and false
stories.

* Read the headline of your newspaper and the featured pages and see if
anything interests you.
* If the front page story intrigues you, read it, and carry on inside the paper
if it continues.
3. When finished, go back to the front page and see if any other featured stories
interest you. Repeat the procedure above.
4. When done with the front page, turn to the next page and see if any articles
there interest you. If you read it, and then carry on if it continues.
5. Repeat until you have read all of the interesting articles or the entire
newspaper.

Newspaper headlines
A newspaper headline is a very short summary of a news report. It normally
appears in large letters above the report.
The grammar of headlines is often non-standard and they can be difficult to
read. The main features of the grammar of headlines are the use of a series of nouns and
the use of ellipsis (leaving out words which are not necessary). We often leave out articles
(a/an, the) and verbs (especially the verb to be):
Headlines often use the present simple, even where the report refers to a past
event. This is done to make the news seem more dramatic and immediate. Headlines often
use the to-infinitive form to refer to future events.

HONG KONG : REUTERS-NICK Leeson may spend Christmas in a Singapore jail, but
some of his friends plan to toast him with a novelty beer named after the trader who
