Dr. Joel D. Welch President, Western Piedmont Community College Dear Partners, It is an honor to present to you the 2023 Report to the Community. As the president of Western Piedmont Community College, it is humbling to see the accomplishments and strengths inherent in our institution. I am proud to be part of WPCC. This annual report demonstrates how we are fulfilling our vision to be a transformational community leader that empowers all individuals to achieve success. During 2021, we developed a new Strategic Plan, WPCC Vision 2025, and in 2023 we are seeing results from our plan. The content of this Report to the Community highlights areas of focus and activities that we have implemented to do what we promised, such as completing our Regional Skilled Trades Solution Center to support construction trades and expand our apprenticeship program. I look forward to working with you to continue the important work that we identified as priorities in our strategic plan. This report demonstrates that we are committed to serving our students and the community with innovative high-quality educational experiences that support success for all students. Through implementation of WPCC Vision 2025, we are improving our processes to serve our students and the community better. We will continue to do great things going forward, and I hope this report illustrates for you some of the ways we are doing our part to support student completion and success through employees’ professional development and community partnerships.
