4 A MESSAGE FROM THE OWNER March 2025 CRUISE GROUP SPONSORSHIPS As we launch the 2025 Cruise Group season this April, we extend our gratitude to both our returning and new sponsors. A special thank you to our returning sponsors—Rick Obey Yacht Sales, Yacht Management, Sea Tow, My Yacht Sales, East Marine Tenders, and Brown & Brown—for their continued support. Many of these sponsors have not only renewed their commitment but have increased their contributions, demonstrating their confidence in the program’s value. We are also pleased to welcome new sponsors for the 2025 season, including ERP Landscaping, Fiorilli Law Group, and Paterson Development. The steady growth of our sponsorships is a testament to the strength and success of the Cruise Group. For members who may be interested in supporting the program, there are opportunities to become a sponsor. Our committees are actively identifying businesses aligned with our events and initiatives, ensuring meaningful partnerships that enhance the member experience. YACHT SHOP Our Yacht Shop Chair and Vice Chair, Miriam and Lee, have been working diligently to make LHPYC-branded merchandise available at events and around the club. The club maintains all profits from Yacht Shop sales in a dedicated fund, which committees can access to help subsidize event costs for members. For example, our upcoming Miami Open experience was able to cover transportation costs for attendees through these funds. Supporting the Yacht Shop is a great way to show off your LHPYC pride while contributing to member-led events. The shop offers high-quality apparel from premium brands such as Vineyard Vines, TravisMathew, and Lilly Pulitzer. TRAVEL Our 2025 travel season is officially underway, with members preparing to depart for our 4th Annual Ski Trip this month. We look forward to an exciting time on the slopes with all in attendance. Following that, our Hobe Sound trip takes place April 10–13, with registration closing on April 1. This annual trip is a great way for boaters to refine their anchoring skills, and this year, we have added a cocktail competition on Friday evening. On Saturday, our Food & Beverage team will host a cookout at Jonathan Dickinson Park, a favorite tradition among attendees. Registration for our first marquee Cruise Group event of the year—Key West—closes on March 31. This highly anticipated trip is open to all members, including extended family and friends. We are expecting over 100 members to join us during Key West’s Annual Songwriters Festival, which brings even more live music to Duval Street. Our itinerary offers a diverse mix of entertainment and dining experiences, and thanks to this year’s sponsorships, we have maintained member pricing despite adding new enhancements, including additional live entertainment and a bottomless brunch. Full event details can be found on pages 18–19. Looking ahead, registration is now open for our summer trips, including: • Cabo – A must-attend, luxury all-inclusive experience for families and couples. • Southern Exumas, Abacos, and Eleuthera – Scheduled for June and July, offering members exceptional yachting and island-hopping opportunities Details for these trips are available on pages 20–23. DEVELOPMENT We appreciate the patience and support of our members as we move forward with our club redevelopment plans. Currently, we are awaiting the completion of our underwriting by Oceans Bank, which includes updates to our Phase 1 environmental studies, appraisals, and surveys. Due to the sensitive nature of these proceedings, we remain under strict non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) to protect the interests of our members, staff, and the club as a whole. We will share further details as soon as we are able. Thank you for your continued commitment, trust, and enthusiasm as we navigate this exciting phase of growth. 25 FROM THE MARINA First and foremost, a huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our very first boating educational workshop in February! We had a fantastic turnout and covered some essential skills, including understanding the differences between various boat lines, mastering key knots, proper cleat tying techniques, and, of course, the art of coiling and throwing lines like a pro. It was wonderful to see the enthusiasm and engagement from everyone who attended. For those who’d like a little more practice, no worries! I’m always happy to help you refine your skills—just reach out, and we'll make it happen. We’d also love your feedback! Please don’t forget to fill out the workshop survey. Your insights will help us tailor future sessions to better suit your needs. Mark Your Calendars! 26 Julia Robinson Membership & Communications Director Spring is here, and we are excited to kick off the season with our New Member Committee’s Spring Mingle. Over the past few years, our New Member Committee, Committee Chairs, and Board Members have been hosting these mingles to help new members get acquainted with our fellow members and leadership team. The response has been overwhelmingly positive, so this year, we are extending the invite to all of our members. Mark your calendars for Friday, March 28, and join us for this special evening. This event is a great opportunity to meet our new members and reconnect with fellow club members you may not have seen in a while. Guests will enjoy an extended happy hour, delicious bites, and a lively mingle game with a jackpot prize. Let’s make meaningful connections and celebrate the start of spring together. This month, our Social Committee is bringing back its legendary Dock Hop, and this year’s theme is Saint Patrick’s Day. Join us on Friday, March 15, for an evening of fun and friendly competition on the LHPYC docks. If you have never attended a Dock Hop, this is the perfect time to experience it. The event is a lively and festive gathering where our Drink Masters compete to craft the best cocktail while guests sip, stroll, and vote for their favorite. Whether you choose to compete or simply enjoy the evening, it is always a memorable event. We are currently looking for Drink Masters, so if you are up for the challenge, be sure to register by March 12. The club will provide signage, cups, ice, tables, and three bottles of alcohol to help bring your vision to life. To RSVP or sign up as a Drink Master, email Gina@lhpyc.com today. We are thrilled to welcome many new faces to the club, and we take great pride in curating a membership that aligns with the vibrant energy of our LHPYC community. As we continue to grow, now is the best time to join before our initiation fee increases. • Current Initiation Fee: $12,500 • Upcoming Increase: $18,000 as construction begins • Future Increases: Expected to rise to $25,000, with a final range of $35,000 to $50,000 MEMBERSHIP If you have family, friends, or neighbors who may be interested in joining, now is the time to invite them in for a tour before rates go up. We also offer a Member Referral Program.
