4A MESSAGE FROM THE OWNERDevelopment UpdatesAt the end of January, we successfully closed on the sale of a portion of the Yacht Club to a private group of investors comprised of dedicated members, family, and friends. I would like to reassure our membership that majority ownership andoperational control remain with me, ensuring thatour vision and path forward remain unchanged. With this partnership now complete, we are movinginto the next phase of the project. We are in the final stages of closing on our bank loan, which is expectedto be completed before the end of March. Additionally, the Mayor has agreed to release our demolition permits, allowing us to move forwardwith the demolition process beginning the first weekof February. Our goal remains to have the new YachtClub fully operational by the first quarter of 2028. The demolition process will begin with approximately two weeks of asbestos abatement. Once this phase is complete, FPL will disconnect power to the clubhouse, after which the BuildingDepartment will conduct a final inspection andprovide clearance to fully demolish and clear the site. Construction fencing will then be installed aroundthe property. Once these fences are in place, it iscritical that no members or guests enter restricted construction areas. As a Club, we have demonstrated tremendous perseverance and patience throughout a longjourney marked by both challenges and progress.Reaching this milestone is a defining moment, andwe look forward to the significant changes that will take place across the property throughout Februaryand March. Please continue to watch for updates from the team via eblasts and text notifications as we move forward. Committee Chair UpdatesI would like to extend my sincere and heartfeltthanks to Sharon Alfieri, our longtime EntertainmentCommittee Chair, as she steps down from her position. Sharon exemplified exactly what thisrole calls for—consistently leading monthlymeetings, building a dedicated and passionate committee, cultivating exciting new event ideas, and promoting participation. Through her innovation, leadership, and commitment, she delivered fun, memorable, and truly unique adult-centered social events that enriched our calendar and strengthened our Club community.Sharon, your passion for entertaining and connecting with members will be greatly missed, and we are incredibly grateful for the manylasting memories you helped create. Our Youth Committee Chair, Krista Bundy, will be stepping down from her role to champion our newest initiative, the LHPYC Youth Ambassadors. We sincerely thank Krista for her passion andcommitment to the future generations of LHPYC—her dedication and leadership have inspired fresh ideas, and we look forward toseeing these qualities empower our older youth. This youth-led committee will engage membersages 10–17 in philanthropy and leadershipthrough charity drives, volunteer days, andcommunity outreach projects, with committee roles filled by participating teens and service hours available. If your child is interested, please email staff liaison Diane at [email protected] tobe added to the interest list.Committee Chairs play a vital role in shaping the ideas, culture, and future direction of our Club byworking closely with staff and fellow members tobring their visions to life while building lifelongrelationships along the way. Sharon and Krista’s leadership set a strong example for both currentand future Chairs, and we encourage others tofollow. As we look ahead, we are pleased towelcome Mary Frances Heller as our new Entertainment Committee Chair, alongside ViceChair Tara Avallone, and Grace Sebring as our new Youth Committee Chair. We look forward totheir leadership and guidance in the continuedsuccess of our Club’s programming and events.(Continued on page 5)

5A MESSAGE FROM THE OWNER(Continued from Page 4)Committee & Board ResponsibilitiesJoining the Club is just the first step in becomingpart of the LHPYC family. Active participation and involvement are what truly transform a clubinto a community. Serving on a committee builds immediate camaraderie and allows members tohelp shape and implement the ideas that bring our Club to life. Committee members may advance toserve as Vice Chair or Chair, and after one year ofservice in a leadership role, may volunteer tobecome a Governor on the Board. Governors are responsible for the growth, strength, and retention of our membership. Theyserve as ambassadors for the Club both within and beyond the property, vote on Club policiesthat guide our governance, support charitable initiatives, and represent the interests of our members. From this leadership path, Governorsmay ultimately advance to Vice Commodore andCommodore—roles charged with guiding the Board, committees, and the overall direction andsuccess of the Club. This quarter, our Board will also be undergoing a leadership transition. Commodore Troy Ganter’s term will be coming to an end, and our currentVice Commodore, Matt Donoghue, will bestepping into the role of Commodore. As part ofthis transition, one of our Governors—Jill Selbach, Kristen Kiss, Michael Holmes, or Paul Alfieri —will be voted in by the Committee Chairs andBoard to serve as the next Vice Commodore and, ultimately, a future Commodore of the Club. Club Wide Governor Election VotingYou will also play a role in the election of our newest Governor to the Board. Please note that the individual you vote for may ultimately become a future Commodore of the Club. We have receivedmultiple volunteers for the open Governor position, which means the election will move to a club-wide vote. Voting will be weighted as follows: general member votes will count as one vote, committee member votes as two, committee chair votes asfive, and Board member votes as ten. Our current nominees are Cruise Group Chair Chris Askew and Swim Committee Chair Megan Serfass. Additional details regarding further nominations and voting guidelines will be sharedin March. Upcoming Travel Our fifth annual Ski Week is upon us, and we are excited to have 33 members joining us in Vail, Colorado from February 9th through the 13th. A special thank you to Travel Committee Chair Danielle Dunfee for her outstanding worknegotiating excellent rates for our skiers. Be sure tofollow along on our week in the snow through e-blasts and on social media. Our Florida Loop is also setting sail from February26th through March 15th with approximatelyeight vessels—an impressive start for its inaugural voyage. We look forward to following the journeyand extend our sincere thanks to trip Chair Tom Heller for his leadership in bringing this excitingadventure to life. Reservations and registration are currently open for the Cruise Group Rendezvous at Pier 66 from Apri 16th to the 19th, as well as for New Year’s Eve later this year. I highly encourage anyone planning to attend any travel excursions in 2025 tojoin the Cruise Group. The $200 annual membership more than pays for itself through discounts on our three major club wide trips—Marathon Key in May, Bimini in August, and Ocean Reef in October—while the added value of being able to join the meetings and cruise group only trips is exceptional.Terry PatersonOwner & Interim General Manager

18YOUTH ACTIVITIESYouthFebruary is shaping up to be a wonderful month filled with fun, learning, and creativity for our youth at the Club. We’ll kick things off with Presidents Day Camp on Monday, February 17, which will be a little different from our typical camp days. We’re excited to welcome The Palmand Pearl Academy, who will spend time with the children focusing on kindness during the season oflove. Through engaging activities and thoughtfuldiscussions, the kids will explore how kindness can go a long way and how even small actions can make a big impact—making this a meaningful andmemorable camp experience.Next, we’re looking forward to February Kids Dayon Saturday, February 21, featuring a fun andhands-on Build Your Own Breakfast experience. Kids will crack their own eggs, mix their own waffle batter, and choose from a variety of toppings to create the perfect waffle. This interactive activity is always a hit, and the children love being involvedfrom start to finish—it’s a delicious day they won’t want to miss. We’ll wrap up the month with KOED KIDSKidpreneur on Saturday, February 28, designedespecially for our youth ages 8–12. KOED KIDS (Kids Off Electronic Devices) empowers youngentrepreneurs by teaching them how to start andrun their own businesses. Last year, it was incredibleto see the creativity and hard work of our LHPYC youth as they offered everything from BBQ sauce and hot sauce to lemonade, handmade treats, andcrafts. If your child didn’t get a chance to participate before, this is a wonderful opportunity to buildconfidence, creativity, and real-world skills. We’re also happy to share that Little Skippers and drop-off are now open at 5:00 PM every Wednesday through Saturday, giving families more flexibility in their evenings. With this expandedavailability and continued enhancements to the program, there has been a price adjustment for Little Skippers and drop-off services. Thank you for your understanding and for allowing us to continue providing a fun, safe, and engaging experience for your children.Katie HullYouth Social Activities Manager

22Julia Robinson Membership & CommunicationsDirectorFebruary is the month of love, and there is no yacht clubor community I love more than LHPYC! I am especiallyexcited as we officially begin our long-awaitedredevelopment—not just because I may eventually get my own office again (sorry, Gina!), but because it meansall of you will finally enjoy the clubhouse we’ve been dreaming about. As part of this exciting milestone, our initiation fee hasofficially increased to its demolition pricing of $18,000. I strongly encourage anyone who knows someone interested in joining the Club to encourage them to JOINNOW. Pricing will only continue to rise, and sooner rather than later. The $18,000 demolition pricing will remain in effect through February and into a portion ofMarch before increasing to $25,000, which is expected toremain stable for the remainder of 2026.Another major benefit our current membersenjoy—thanks to your loyalty and patience—is your membership dues. While new members currently pay the same dues as existing members, there will be a pointin the near future when dues for NEW prospectivemembers will increase to approximately $8,500 annually. That’s a compelling reason to encourage your friends, family, and neighbors to schedule a tour and becomepart of our growing Club family.MEMBERSHIPDo you have an adult child over the age of 28 and are you a current member? We offer an exceptional LegacyProgram where member children receive 50% off the initiation fee, along with reduced membership dues for the lifetime of their membership. If your child is also under the age of 35, they may additionally qualify for our Junior Membership, which allows the initiation fee to be financed and even lower dues. The future is officially here, and with it comes renewedenergy to support, participate in, and truly love yourClub. We are incredibly excited—not only about thecreativity and momentum our committees and staff continue to bring but about the bright, bold future ahead. It will be worth the time, the patience, and yes… even the dust.Thank you for being part of something truly special.WELCOME NEW MEMBERSFran & Mark ChadwickShannon Porfiris & Tony DuBose Michael & Annie Struempfler
