New Member Home sweet home. The Boes are finally Florida residents,
again.
Spotlight
Brian and Natalie met the first week of school at the University
Brian & Natalie Boe of Florida. Brian, a true Floridian, was born and raised in
Naples, FL and Natalie was born in Ohio, but grew up in
Orlando and Ft. Lauderdale.

Following graduation, Natalie pursued her career in public
relations in Tampa and served as the executive
director for the Warrick Dunn Foundation—assisting
single parents in realizing their dream of
homeownership. She currently works as a public
relations consultant and has a passion for
philanthropic corporate social responsibility.

Brian attended medical school at the University of
South Florida and prior to pursing his pediatric
residency in Chicago, Natalie and Brian got married.
The couple started their journey to the Midwest in
2009 with the intention of one day coming home.
Thirteen years, two fellowships, three cities, two kids,
a dog, a mustache, and a lot in between, they have
returned to Florida and found their new home in
Lighthouse Point (thanks to Papa’s Raw Bar).

Brian, the director of the Congenital Catheterization
Laboratory at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital,
enjoys volunteer coaching, tiki tennis and
kiteboarding. Brian is excited to be a part of the Joe D
team providing cardiac care for both children and
adults with congenital heart disease.

Avid Gator fans and water sport enthusiasts (Brian
proposed while scuba diving in Key Largo), Brian,
Natalie and their two boys, Lucas (11) and Cole (9)
absolutely love LHP. Eager to connect with other
families and build a strong sense of community, the
Boes joined LHPYC.

Through the club the Boes have met amazing families
and enjoyed many social events. They are looking
forward to getting their sea legs back and joining the various interest groups at the club and will be attending the
March ski trip.

In addition to meeting new friends, they are enjoying spending more time with family as well—especially enjoyed
cheering on the World Cup with Natalie’s Argentine family.

The Boes have learned that home is truly where the heart is, and their hearts are here in LHP.

Member I (Krista Bundy) grew up in a small lake town in
Northwest New Jersey. It was the absolute best place to
Spotlight grow up and I swore I would never leave there. Because
my family owned several spas around the area, I decided
John & Krista Bundy to pursue a cosmetology license after high school. The
plan was to one day take over the family business, but
after graduating from school, I decided it wasn't a career
for me, and I moved to Florida. I have now lived in
Florida longer than my hometown which is still so crazy
to say. There are so many things I miss about living in the
Northeast. My husband, John, is one of the funniest and
most genuine men I know. This past October, we
celebrated our 14th anniversary. We have a 13-year-old
black lab and the sweetest 5-year-old boy who I am sure

you’ve seen running around here.

My husband has lived in Lighthouse Point since
the age of 8. John went to The University of West
Florida later graduating from Palmer
Chiropractic College as a DC. He has been a
business owner since 2011 when he started his
company, Corporate Health & Wellness, LLC.
The company was born in an attempt to combat
the rising costs of healthcare for employers,
employees, brokers, health carriers, etc. by
making healthcare delivery more efficient while
optimizing healthcare benefits as a whole.
“Explaining my work is humorously daunting
but being a healthcare provider helped me
understand both healthcare and health benefits
which gave me a unique advantage in
understanding both sides of the spectrum. With
that, I was able to clearly identify and resolve
many inefficiencies taking place in employee
benefits and our broken healthcare system. I
wanted to disrupt the industry norms, liberate those who wanted to learn,
and improve benefits for our clients. Being proactive instead of reactive is
our foundation. Improving consumerism through transparency, technology,
education, and assistance saves time and money, makes the benefits
experience more enjoyable for all, and simultaneously enhances the
company’s benefits package. In short, that became our business. We’ve been
extremely blessed with our successes and the flexibility it has created for us
to enjoy life more and more.”

We love to travel and be outdoors. In 2020 we bought 164 acres in the
panhandle which John has worked hard to develop into a hunter's
wonderland and our little slice of Heaven. This past Thanksgiving, we
closed on another 22 acres of pastureland that will allow us to move our
cattle on too soon and start expanding our herd. We built a pole barn last summer and bought a 5th-wheel to live in until a
house is built. I love spending time cooking in my RV kitchen and learning how to REALLY garden. Bo loves 4-wheeling,
fishing, learning how to hunt and doesn’t mind putting in some manual labor with any project dad may be working on.
Being able to “unplug” and watch Bo learn all that he does in that environment means everything to us. We’re extremely
fortunate to be able to spend a lot of time up there and make memories that will last a lifetime. I would move there in a
heartbeat but if you know John, it would be really hard to pull him out of Lighthouse Point.

John has blessed me with being a stay-at-home mom for the last 6 years. Recently, as Bo has gotten older, I have been
working part-time for @fashionablyjess, our local fashion blogger. If you don’t follow her, you need to! We’ve been members
for almost 6 years and absolutely love it here! I’m excited to have been chosen for the youth chair and hope to create fun
times for your kiddos even with the challenges of space right now. We are working hard on some new ideas for the New
Year so stay tuned!

The artist conceives her sculptures as models, defying any necessity to be structurally sound, or correctly built. Recent works
have employed common architectural elements such as doorways, courtyards, columns that are removed from their functions.

the base of a cornered column, and a protruding horizontal piece hovers as if recently landed, attached by a magnet. Her muted
palettes recall durable surfaces such as concrete or asphalt, but Zhong works intuitively with materials such as clay, plaster,
foam, and waxed paper to create textural relationships rather than direct references. Her spaces have a distinct emptiness to
them, without any trace of humans or enough specificities to latch on to preconceived readings. She endeavors to create the
ideal conditions for a reality pivoted just slightly away from our own.

Zhong moved away from her architectural forms in order to investigate what it might mean to “obscure” her work, to make our
viewing experience feel incomplete. She achieved this to great effect in her solo exhibition Comet without a Tail at Chapter NY,
New York (2021).A coarse, raised, pale-green floor was built over a number of sculptures that were barely revealed via viewing
holes. Comparatively hyper-visible a two-meter-high cone that extruded from the floor. Zhong placed a set of diminutive pieces
atop the cone, which could only be spotted from a distance—a third landscape, out of reach and scrutiny. The sculptures
beneath the floor during the exhibition were visible solely as images shared by the gallery. Stella Zhong’s practice is intrinsically
speculative and propositional. Her activated objects, observed happenings, and built environments are saturated with
inconsistencies that evade logic and definition.

By using memory to generate notions of what future or concurrent realities in other dimensions could look like, Zhong’s work
operates outside linear notions of time. These temporal slippages are captured vividly in videos such as Pond in Pond II (2019),
in which a constructed set allows for multiple moons to move across, above, and below the horizon line, and portals emerge
from beneath a liquid surface. Zhong’s choice to create sci-fi epics in decidedly sci-fi ways, revealing theatrical effects and her
hand’s operations within the frame, underscores how easy it is for any of us to inhabit other worlds. We simply need the
confidence to create them.

Wishing the LHPYC owners, members and club staff a healthy, happy and prosperous New Year.

FITNESS & YOUTH

Fitness

Welcome January 2023! It seems like I blinked, and the year went by since the last time I wrote a New Year’s article. I
remember last year speaking about New Year, new resolutions. Well, we are here again, and I am going to preach the
same message. If this is finally the year to get yourself back into a gym routine or maybe you have never even started with
one, then I am here to help. We have some amazing fitness that you can participate in throughout the week if group
classes are your thing. Our gym is open 5am to 9pm nightly. Of course, I am here to help if you are looking for more of a
one-on-one personal training style to help get you back into the groove. Please don’t hesitate to give me a call or just drop
by the gym where my office is so we can have a chat. Wishing you all a very HEALTHY 2023!

Youth

First off, I would like to wish everyone a very happy and healthy 2023. We had a strong finish to the year with a few
wonderful events for the youth in December. I want to thank everyone that participated and brought their kids out to our
night with Santa, Dock Hop and Kids Day. We had a great time at all the events and the pictures in this month’s magazine
will surely tell the full story! The Youth Committee and I are busy working on some fun events for 2023 so pay attention to
your emails and The Point magazine so you won’t miss what is coming up.

Reminder that Little Skippers is open WED-SAT each week down in the Tennis Pro Shop from 6pm-9pm. Reservations are
always preferred.
