Winter will soon be over which means two things in my life:
Ski season is drawing to a close and the winter windy season
kicking up the gulf stream is soon over. These big seas have
unfortunately been the reason for several group cruises to be
cancelled. So we are planning a trip to Hobe Sound, just north
of Jupiter inlet, to stay on anchor for 3 nights. This is a
picturesque, huge open water area of the intercoastal off
Jonathan Dickenson State Park. We will have clean water and
white sandy beaches on our west side, and spectacular estate
properties on our east side. Our goal is to get as many boaters
comfortable staying on anchor for multiple nights before we
head to the Abacos in June and Exumas in July. Any

Lastly, a special shout out to 8-year-old Harper Kiss,
daughter of Governor Kiss, for her outstanding

her.

A quick development update. We are nearing our
goal of selling 10 Townhouses pre-construction,
mostly to existing members. After 3 members finish
their due diligence and commit fully, we will have no
more pre-construction pricing units left to sell. The
prices will be strictly upheld at advertised pricing of
$2,150,000 to $2,950,000. Once we have only 4 left,
these prices will rise again.

We are both retired and have three children: Ashley, Lola, our 1 year old

to boat, travel, cook, meet new people, and just try

We joined the club after being
introduced by a dear friend. We liked
the old Florida charm and the warmth

opportunity to join the Cruising Group
prior to joining on a trip to Port
Lucaya, where we met some truly
wonderful people, and look forward to
continuing to grow those relationships
since we are lifetime boaters.

Honoring Local Veterans

Honor Flight South Florida took to the streets once again in February hosting our 9th Veteran Parade, this time in
Pembroke Pines & Miramar. We had the pleasure of visiting 10 Vietnam, Korean War, and WWII Veterans.

Having to cancel all 4 of our planned 2020 Flights forced us to disappoint over 300 of our Nation’s Oldest Heroes. We
decided to get creative and show these Men & Women that they have not been forgotten while they await their
anticipated flight day to Washington DC to visit their Memorials and more.

**Please join our next Veteran Parade on March 6th in Boca Raton! Contact me for details**

Dorothy joined us on an HFSF flight in recent years and has remained close
to us, joining us at various events honoring our WWII veterans. The

These interviews will make their way to history at the Library of Congress.

What is Honor Flight?

Honor Flight South Florida is a 100% all-volunteer organization, dedicated solely to
honoring all veterans in Broward, Dade, and Monroe counties. In the final chapters of their
lives, it’s a race against time to fly these veterans to Washington D.C. to visit and reflect at
the memorials built in their honor. Top priority is given to our most senior defenders of
freedom, World War II, Korean War, and Vietnam veterans, and those veterans who are
terminally ill. Every one of these veterans fly absolutely free.

Do you know any WWII, Korean War, or Vietnam Veterans?

Please help Honor Flight South Florida in our mission to honor as many Veterans as possible before it is too late.
An estimated 245 WWII Veterans die every day. Vietnam Veterans are passing away at an alarming rate of 390
each day. Time is of the essence. If you have any connection to a Veteran living anywhere from Boca south to Key
West, please reach out to me.

years now. That is a testament to how much they like coming to
work with our LHPYC members. Generally, the fitness industry
has a lot of transition from gym to gym as trainers and coaches
are always looking for the “next big thing”. Here at LHPYC I
have focused on building a family of coaches that you can get to
know and relate too. I have stressed the same to the coaches. I

COMMODORE’S CORNER

LHPYC would like to introduce Billy and Linda Koorse, proud owners of their new Horizon with
big Caterpillars to move them along. After visiting the Northeast this year, they will return back
here and plan to join Cruise Group for our adventures.

Featured Boat: ON KOORSE
Owned by: Linda & Billy Koorse

We’ve been boating for 25 years. We started out with a 37’ Sea
Ray, moved up and built a 54’ Navigator. With our desire to
spend months on board we decided to buy a bigger, heavier,
stabilized boat. After a long search, found our 82’ Horizon that
we’re extremely happy with!

The boat truly has everything we need to call it our second home.
It literally checks all the boxes and it looks and feels like a new
boat every time we board. The interior Salon is spacious with a
large Country Kitchen, full beam master with his and her
bathrooms! The enclosed fly-bridge is an added convenience
with air conditioning and amazing views! The exterior decks add
additional seating for dining or relaxing whether we are cruising
or in port.

This summer we have plans to be in the Northeast from June
thru September. Our Home Port will be Newport, Rhode Island.
Our cruising schedule will include Sag Harbor, Block Island,
Montauk, Martha Vineyard, Nantucket, and half dozen ports in
Maine before heading home. We’ve never cruised from the
Northeast to Florida and plan to take a month to do so with
many stops along the way.

We truly love planning our trips and the adventure that comes
with navigating and visiting ports both familiar and unfamiliar.
We’re mostly spontaneous once we get to our destination and
usually like explore the sights, the quaint towns and all of
shopping and dining they have to offer! So with the help of our
Captain Ben, we will make some great new memories this
summer!

Next summer we hope to join the LHPYC Cruising Group and
welcome you on our boat and join you on the Bahamas trip!!!

The Art Gallery Of Light House Point Yacht Club is pleased to

showcase the young Armenian artist Antraniq Gharibian for the

The Point’s 2021 March issue. I first met Antraniq, known to his

friends and artists as Anto, when he was the Bellport Gallery 125

art photographer. During the winter of 2011, I was a winter

resident artist along with fellow artists David Adams and the

late John Perreault. Adams and Perreault’s works have been

featured here at the LHPYC Art Gallery over the past few years.

Anto was just seventeen and finishing high school when I met

him. I soon recognized Anto as having an innate talent of

capturing art through the artist lens. Anto photographed the

of LHPYC artist working during the different stages of their art making
processes. He would photograph our finished works both for
cataloging and the installation at many of the New York art

Daniel J. O’Keefe • Fine Art shows. I studied Anto’s personal portfolio and realized his
516-383-4000 • danieljokeefe.com personal art touched on a deep and profound psychological

response to the his subject matter that left me emotionally
moved. Anto’s portfolio was full of images from Brooklyn,

Harlem and his country of Armenia. The images he captured told stories over time, caught in a moment. At his young age he was able to

capture history that eluded many older artists.

During the next five years I watched Anto grow in the art world. I asked Anto if he could hold a photo shoot of a clothing company I was
getting off the ground? He chose a Brooklyn warehouse and along with young male and female models, he produced a professional
assortment of images that satisfied my needs. Anto was not only versed in photography and cinema, but in technology. He began to build
websites and finely moved up the line to the Hampton galleries and then to the New York galleries. Antraniq developed his own online
gallery where he bridges his artist’s works with other brick-and-mortar galleries. This concept affords the clients a wider assortment of
good art to choose from. Anto began branding artist’ and their art while always producing great photography himself.

Today, branding is not only limited to products or companies. It has become an integral need for professionals as well. Whether you’re an
entrepreneur or artist, you need to incorporate branding strategies to make a name in the industry. With huge competition in the art
industry, even artworks have entered the realm of branding exponentially. Today both art and artists are competing hard to grab the
attention of perspective art buyers. This has lead marketers to build a trustworthy brand strategy for artists. After many years as an artist
experimenting with various media, Anto draws from extensive experience in creative direction and branding to help identify the crucial
elements of a brand that can be translated into art. The way art can elevate a brand’s aspirations and express its emotional qualities creates a
powerful marketing tool that is defining today’s evolution of brand activation, and Anto’s expertise provides the high-level strategy
necessary to ensure a concise, authentic result.

Robert Mapplethorpe stated, “If it makes a better picture by cropping, I crop. I don’t see any point in saying I never do this-if I see
something later that I didn’t see, and it’s a better picture, I go for it.

Antraniq Gharibian continues to excel and remain on the cutting edge of the art world and just think he is only in his twenties. I can’t wait to
see where he goes next.

The Art Gallery at Light House Point is currently featuring a number of Gallery artists. All the art is for sale.
For information about the art please contact Daniel J. O’Keefe at 516-383-4000 or Diane at the front desk.
