COLLECTIVUM MEMORIA presents
the imagined collective memories of
a small coastal harbour town as
envisioned through either the dream
memories of the inhabitants or those
as created by the place itself.
There are echoes of scapes, boats,
birds, fields, hills, etc.
The main inspirational elements for
the project come directly from a
combination of my fondness for Dylan
Thomas' play for voices ... Under Milk
Wood, Terry Frost's paintings and my
visits to the various Moray Coast
harbour townships nearby.
Thomas has described Under Milk
Wood as "... a piece, a play, an
impression ... so that at many
levels, through sight and speech,
description and dialogue,
evocation and parody, you come
to know the town as an inhabitant."
