Warm-Up

- All students will begin their warm-ups by running two laps
around the courts to boost their energy up and get them motivated
to play the games provided

- Following the laps, the students will join the teacher for a brief
five-minute stretch session to loosen any stiff muscles for the
games for the day

Hula Hoop Dancing

Rules:
- Gather the students up and put them into 2 teams
- Each player will get a hula hoop and stand in front of someone from the
opposite team
- The objection of the game is to get the other player sidetracked and to
drop their hula hoop on the ground
- The person who drops their hula hoop loses

Key Skills and Components: Stability and Focus
Space Requirement: Half Court/ Hula Hoops needed
Time Requirement: 5-10 minutes

Hopscotch Mathematics

Rules:
- Gather everyone up and form a line (one behind another)
- When the player hears the whistler, they have to solve the math problem that the
instructor says for less than 5 seconds by jumping to the hula hoop in order (EX: If
the answer is 35, you have to jump to the 3, then you jump to the 5)
- If the player don’t complete the math problem in 5 seconds, they will be eliminated
- The last player standing wins

Time Requirement: 10-15 minutes

True or False Simon Says
Rules:

- Choose a student to lead the class as Simon.
- Have the leader to say “Simon Says..”, then give an activity, such as for

example: “If water is a healthy drink, skip around in a circle..”
- If the answer is true, the students complete the suggested activity and if the

answer is false, they stand still.
- Whoever does the opposite task is out and the last person standing WINS

Space Requirements: Half-Court/ No equipment required

Time Requirement: 10 minutes

Over Under

Rules:

- Gather the students up and have them form two rows, one behind the other.
- Have the students pass a ball down the line, but alternating over the head and

between the knees.
- The instructor will call out an order that the students have to follow until the ball

reached the end of the line. When the object gets to the end of the line, the last
person runs to the front and starts passing it again.
- The first row to repeat the process TWO times will become the WINNING row

Space Requirements: Half Court/ Only a ball needed

Time Required: 5-10 minutes

Marco Polo

Rules:
- The instructor will ask everybody to spread out and pick one person to
be “Marco Polo”
- The person assigned to be “‘Marco Polo” will have to move fast and
everybody else will have to avoid getting tagged by Marco Polo
- If you get tagged by the infamous “Marco Polo”, you will be out of the
game and the last person that is not tagged WINS

Space Requirements: Half-Court/Blindfold needed
Time Requirement: 5-10 minutes

Group Order

Rules:
- The instructor will begin the game by having everybody gather in a line (any
order)
- The instructor will ask the group to line themselves in order based on certain
criteria such as for example: birthday, height, shoe size, haircolor, eye color.
- The plot twist is that all members of the line can’t verbally speak to each
other. If one breaks the set rule will be eliminated

Time Requirement: 10 minutes

Human Shape

Rules:
- Divide the team up into two groups
- The instructor will call out a shape, number, or letter and the students will as a
whole group have to create the exact shape, number, or letter with ONLY their
bodies
- Everybody MUST be in part of this final product and the first team to accomplish
it will earn a point
- The FIRST time will get five points will be the WINNING team

Time Required: 5-10 minutes

Rock, Paper, Scissors, CHEER

Rules:
- Everyone will start off by walking around the court. When you meet someone,
introduce yourself, and then play rock paper scissor.
- The loser forms a line behind the winner and chants the winner’s name
- Eventually there will be two long lines (one winners and one losers) and the
game ends with the last rock, paper, scissor battle between the leaders of
those two lines

Time Requirement: 5 minutes

Guess The Leader

Rules:

- Gather everybody up and stand in a circle around the court.
- One person will be picked and become a detective and leaves the group.
- A leader is chosen among the group. The leader then will begin a pattern (i.e.

clapping their hands) and keeps changing the pattern while everyone follows.
- The detective has 3 tries to guess and see who the leader is, and if they

cannot guess the leader by their third turn, the leader WINS the round

Space Requirements: Half Court/ No equipment needed

Time Required: 5-10 minutes

Ninja

Rules:

- Gather all the players and form a huge circle around the half court
- The objective of the game is to get the person beside you out by touching their arms with

yours on your turn
- Movement must be in one motion, and you must stay in the exact motion that you

stopped at
- If you manage to touch the person before they dodge your motion, they will lose their arm

and place it behind their back
- Once you lose both arms, you are eliminated from the game

Space Requirements: Half Court/ No requirements needed

Time Required: 10-15 minutes

Octopus

Rules:
- All players will need to stand at one end of the playing area and choose 1-2 players to
become the octopuses (or catchers)
- Players will power walk around the playing area and the players who get caught will
have to become an obstacle for those will are still running
- Caught players may not move but they can take in which case they are now caught
players

Time Required: 5 minutes

Snake Tag

Rules:
- Divide the class into groups of three or four and have one person left over to be “it”.
- Have the members of each group attach together by holding onto the waist of the person in front
of them to create a snake. The person in the front is the head and the person in the back is the
tail.
- To begin the game, the person that is “it” must catch the tail of one of the snakes and attached
to it. If he/she is successful, the head must come off and he/she is now “it”
- The new person that is “it” can not attach to the same snake it came off of for approximately 10
seconds
- You are to twist and turn your snake to keep from loosing your head

Time Required: About 10-15 minutes
