When it comes to teaching, I feel that a teacher affects their students for eternity. We
can never tell where our influence stops. I believe that to create a better world, we must
first influence our students a good morale.

week 1
Teaching & microteaching

WEEK 1 (16 FEB - 18FEB)

The first topic is Teaching and Microteaching. As taught, there are
different teaching and microteaching. Teaching is teaching the actual
students in a real classroom where the teacher will experience it.
Meanwhile, for microteaching, the participants will be the people from
their own crowd. In teaching, they will have to teach according to
students level of proficiency whereas for microteaching they only have to
follow their lesson plan without having to consider their participants level
of proficiency.

teaching & learning

objectives

WEEK 2 (23FEB & 25FEB)

The second topic is teaching & learning objectives. In this lesson, I have learnt that even when I have
learnt how to construct learning objectives when I was in Diploma. I have learnt that there are so many
things that are needed to be learnt in order to construct good learning objectives.

As per taught, I have learnt that I have to refer to SMART objectives. By referring to SMART objectives, I
will be able to construct an effective learning objective. In my opinion, is a good thing to learn on how to
apply SMART objective into my learning objectives. This is because, by applying SMART objectives, I will
be able to achieve my teaching objectives.

week 3
set induction

WEEK 3 (2ND MARCH & 4TH MARCH)

The third topic is set induction. In this lesson, I have learned that set
induction is important in each class. In set induction, steps were taken by a
teacher to begin a lesson or other classroom activity. It is to introduce the
topic and get students focused and interested in the lesson. When students
are set, they are ready to learn. Set induction is about getting ready and
induced into the right frame or mindset to learn.

week 4
LEARNING OBJECTIVE
+ MOCKTEACHING 1

WEEK 4 (9TH MARCH)

I have learned in Learning Objective that it has its own Pyramid. In this lesson,
we learned that it helps us in constructing a lesson. We know that learning
objectives would help us in directing the lesson to be more conducive. In the
pyramid, I learn what is the effective way for us to teach students.

WEEK 4 (11TH MARCH)

In week 4, I did my mock teaching on the set induction stage as well as my
teaching aids. I have chosen a Form 5 topic Shopping Therapy (Unit 4). I
specifically chose this topic as it is easier to find content that is suitable for my
classmates' level of knowledge. I chose to use Azfarheri's unboxing video as he
is one of the famous Youtuber in Malaysia. Azfarheri was known as a Youtuber
that loves shopping.

WEEK 5 (16TH MARCH )

In week 4, we are required to produce 15 activities that are based on 4
language skills and 5 types of teaching aids related to the topic Globetrotting
from Form 4 textbook. I have challenged myself into creating audiovisual
material, based on a vlog that contains traveling. It was a great pleasure
creating the activities that are suitable with the help of my groupmates.

WEEK 5 (18TH MARCH)

In this class, the second part of the mock teaching for set induction was
conducted. While I was watching other classmates do their mock teaching for
set induction, I am able to learn a lot of things. I can see that there are lot of
ways and techniques to grab your student's attention in set induction. By
watching them, I am able to broaden my knowledge in set induction. They
have proven to me that to grab student's attention, sometimes it doesn't have
to be big things. Something simple can also attract them in getting their
attention.

week 6
STIMULUS VARIATION

WEEK 6 (23TH MARCH)

I learn that teachers' actions in class should not always be teaching but also by
getting the attention of the students. In order to grab students' interest, there are
a few aspects that can be looked into like the intensity during lessons, contrast,
movement, audio-visual aids, and the teacher's personal behavior. There are also
skills that we can look into that can help with stimulus variation. Some of them are
movement, gestures, pausing, and change in speech pattern.

week 7
QUESTIONING TECHNIQUES

WEEK 7 (30TH MARCH)

Here, I have learned that in Questioning techniques, I should know what I want to
ask. I learned that, in order to ask the question, I need to ensure that I know the
answer first or it will leads to getting confused by owns questions. As per taught, I
need to refrain myself from asking an impromptu questions. This is because to
ensure there will be no grammatical mistake.

WEEK 7 (1ST APRIL)

For this mini mock teaching task, we were asked to conduct mock teaching with
any topic that we like. In this task, we are also needed to apply stimulus variation.
For my topic, I have decided to do a little sharing. In my sharing, I used a perfume
as my materials. In my session, I called out a few names from my classmates to
asked them to answer my question. For this mini mock teaching, I could say that
this is impromptu because i just picked up any material that I have in my bag in
that and I just did the mock teaching. I felt happy because I did get a good
feedback from my classmates.

PROJECT 1 TASK B

PRESENTATION

WEEK 8 (13TH APRIL)

For this project, we were instructed to develop a blog.
We have decided to go for the topic of Shopping
Therapy from Unit 4. Just like Task A, we have to include
all 4 skills in this blog. It was very challenging for me to
create this blog along with my groupmates as all of us
are not familiar with this platform but we manage to
finish this blog on time. Apart from that, to come up with
10 activities was quite hard too as we have to make
sure that everything are alligned with our content
standard and learning objectives.

WEEK 8 (15TH APRIL)

For the second mockteaching, we were asked to conduct the mock teaching online.
In this mock teaching, we were asked to continue with our previous mock teaching.
We decided to record our mock teaching using Zoom platform. While waiting for my
turn to do the mock teaching, I watched my groupmates did the mock teaching. I
could see that all of them have improvement from the previous mock teaching as
their teaching getting better and much smoother. For my part, I was glad that I have
received a good feedback from my groupmembers.

week 9
reinforcement strategies

WEEK 9 (20TH APRIL)

From what I have learned in this class, reinforcement will help us engage the students
in the lesson and help motivate them to learn. Apart from that, it aids in the retention
of new information and encourages engagement in the form of feedback. However,
there are times and places when pupils need to be reminded of something, and this
is where the methods come in handy. In short, we must consistently and
appropriately encourage positive student behaviour. Students should never be
harmed or punished. Rather, we should discipline them so that they are more aware
of the consequences of their bad habits.

week 10

LESSON PLAN (4 LANGUAGE SKILLS)
THIRD MOCKTEACHING

WEEK 10 (20TH APRIL)

This lesson teaches me how to develop activities for four language skills (listening,
speaking, reading, and writing) based on their own pre-, during, and post-activities.
There will be two or three tasks in that part, depending on the students' proficiency
level, but they must all connect to the topic. Due to time constraints, productive
abilities such as speaking and writing will become sluggish. As a result, the activities
must be brief and easy for the children to complete. However, we must guarantee
that the materials used are relevant to the issue, not merely the topic itself, in order
for the activities to be carried out.

WEEK 10 (13TH MAY)

In this class, the third part of the mock teaching.
We are required to conduct our mock teaching
online. All of our group members decided to use
the Zoom platform. As I was waiting for my turn, I
could see that my group members did their
closure. From them, I have learned that there so
many ways to recap your lesson. They have
proven to me even in their ways, the students able
to achieve their learning objectives. As for my part,
I apply thumbs up and thumbs down in the
closure to ensure that actually understands what I
have been teaching them. It was a relief that I get
positive feedbacks from my group members.
