ABOVE: OS 7th Series map (1961). The 'Halt', St Budeaux Ferry Road, on the GWR Plymouth (bottom
right) to Penzance (off upper left) main line is the still open. The short Bull Point branch is shown with
double track above 'Weston Mill Lake'. Above the 'Halt' the other side of the railway overbridge (a
yellow road), is St Budeaux Victoria Road, once on the LSWR Plymouth to Okehampton and Exeter
main line (and still open on the Gunnislake branch). The WWII single-track connection between the
GWR and LSWR can be seen between them just southeast of the two stations, now St Budeaux Jn (for
Gunnislake). The still open single-track branch from Keyham to Devonport Royal Dockyard can be
seen disappearing into the 'secret' white dockyard area. It is used by occasional nuclear flask trains for
submarine fuel and nuclear waste. Of interest, upper left, on the Cornwall side of the River Tamar is
the residual single track spur to sidings retained until 1964, (above 'Antony Passage') at Wearde Jn on
the original broad gauge 1859 main line to St Germans. In 1908, the rest closed as a through route
when the more inland route through Shillingham tunnel was constructed to replace it.

1909] Eastleigh Signalling Centre visit, Sat 26 Nov 10.00: At Eastleigh East Jn between the Winchester
and Romsey lines; with thanks to our member Stuart Hicks. High-visibility vests may be required and a
charity donation applies. Enquires: [email protected] quoting BLS membership number.

1910] Unusual Tracks (UT): .NEW. A 'Notes Section' for interesting items, unconstrained by the

limited space in the main UT tables. The latest notes details unusual moves at Banbury after the
recent extensive re-modelling, with a new layout diagram for ease of reference. Notes have been
added for Glasgow Central, Helensburgh Central P1/P3, Littlehampton P4 & Paisley Gilmour Street
(updated after recent trips to the area), with more to come. There is no need to subscribe to UT, but
it has a wealth of information that makes it easier to plan unusual moves at 'Baker' or 'Quail' levels.
Participants will have the satisfaction of making a donation to a worthy cause; 100% goes to the
Railway Children charity. Our member Ian Delgado, who runs the site, is happy to take specific rare
track requests or queries that can save hours trawling through OpenTrainTimes or Realtime Trains.
Please go to https://goo.gl/atct2m to make a charity donation (£10 or more gives long-term access).
