Food Lighting The way that food products are marketed has been
transformed and become more sophisticated over the years.

Nowadays the end consumer weighs up both the product and the
shopping space with a critical eye.

The right lighting is crucial in this aspect.
When lighting food products, the choice involves two aspects:
providing the best conditions for conservation/food safety and being
able to show consumers the best qualities of the fresh produce,

highlighting characteristics, pleasant appearance,
colour, texture, etc.

Careful lighting can directly boost sales
if it manages to put across this perception of quality

to the customer.

NEXIA is developing its Food Lighting range by offering a specific LED product
for lighting:
Bread / Cakes: It reinforces the appeal of golden and yellow tones. It reduces
deterioration because it does not get hot and affect the dairy ingredients in
many of these products.
Meat / Deli counter: It improves appearance by strengthening red and pinkish
tones. The lack of heat means the cutting area does not deteriorate.
Fish / Seafood: It makes them look fresher by strengthening blue and silvery
tones. Scale texture is reinforced; the product looks freshly-caught.
Fruit / Vegetables: It improves their features and the perception of freshness.
The lighting highlights their texture and shine and reproduces the colour of the
fruit and vegetables on display in an appealing way.
Food Lighting using the NEXIA Food Lighting range, fitted with the latest LED
technology, highlights the products’ qualities and protects them from heat
load and consequent bacteriological deterioration.

4. Ensure good control of different photometric light curves allowing luminaires, by designing suitable
optics.

5. Provides flexibility in the choice of colour temperature and colour rendering index.

6. Allows a good glare control.

7. Avoid pixelation that occurs with SMD technology.

8. Most of our luminaires equipped with LED COB are classified as L80B20 about life. This nomenclature
which defines the end of life of a LED is considered. L80 defines the LEDs, at the end of its useful life, they
will give 80 % of its initial flux. B20 is a statistical value indicating the percentage of LEDs that will be
below the set value in the parameter L. Overall interpret L80B20 as the end of its useful life, 20 % of the
LEDs (B20) will be below 80 % of its initial flow (L80), the 80 % remaining above 80 % of the flow initial.
