Nurses Pinning Program 2021

Nurses Pinning Program 2021

DOMINICAN UNIVERSITY

Nursing Pinning
Ceremony

CLASS OF 2021

Elizabeth T. MacNeil
1929 - 2006

A pioneering nurse-educator, Elizabeth T. MacNeil touched the lives of thousands of
patients and health care professionals in the greater Chicagoland area. After
serving as an officer in the Royal Canadian Air Force, MacNeil received her
bachelor's and master's degrees in nursing. She then taught at several Chicago
area universities while continuing her clinical work. Her specialty was Pediatrics.

According to her son, David MacNeil, Dominican alumnus and CEO of MacNeil
Automotive (WeatherTech), "Nursing was more than a job to my mother. It was
how she approached life and people --- with care." MacNeil named the school in
honor of his mother in 2018.

Quality nursing practice was important to Elizabeth T. MacNeil. Today, the MacNeil
School of Nursing provides students with access to state-of-the-art simulation
laboratories as well as essential clinical experiences through partnerships with
well-respected health providers and hospitals.

"I am delighted that my mother's passion for nursing will inspire future
generations of health professionals." DM
