Multiple-tier Timelines

Multiple-tier timelines use two or more rows of events. While
each row represents a different subject, the time period is the
same.

Multiple-tier timelines can be used to help us look at cause and
effect relationships or patterns and themes among events in a
specific period of time.

We will be using a multi-tier timeline to show the rise and fall of

The Mississippian people were fascinating Indians that lived
in the midwestern and southern United State and lasted from
800 AD to 1600 AD. They were often known as the Mound
Builders because they built great mounds. In society the
Mississippian people were seperated into two chiefdoms, elites
or commoners. Elites had special treatment so they had bigger
houses and less work to do. Most MIssissippians were farmers
and lived close to rivers. The plants and food that they grew
were corn, beans, squash, sunflower, goosefoot, and sumpweed.
Some anstonishing achievements that the people had were the
artifacts that they made from stone, marine shell, pottery, and

Brainpop American Indians

In Brainpop, I learned that the word “Indian”
is just a mistake. When Christopher Columbus
came, he thought he was in India, so he name
them Indians. The Indians came to America by
a land bridge in the Bering Strait some 10,000
years ago. Then, they grew into different
societies with different languages. Some of
the tribes are Kwakwaka’ wakw, Navajo,
Sioux, Iroquois, and the Eskimo. Sadly, most
of these civilizations are destroyed today
because in the 1800’s the Europeans cam to

The Maya

TheMayans were a tribe that lived in Central America from 2000BC to 1695AD. They
did many things that were fascinating. First, they had a government that had a ordinary
people and superiors. There were five stages that started with commoners who had no
interaction with the government, military leaders, who obeyed the first-rate people
when they wanted war. Then, there were priests, who influenced the government’s
decision and nobles, which were people that formed the council. Lastly, there was a
king, who people believed had the right to rule because of the gods. He was also called
“ahaw”. The Mayans believed in many gods. But there were only two god whom the
Mayans believed were powerful. They were Itzamna and Hun hunapu. There were also
other gods like, Chaac, Kukulkan, and Bolon Tzacab. The Mayans were also one of the
first Indians that did writing. The Mayans used a similar writing compared to the
Egyptians call hieroglyphics. However, it is quite different from the Egyptians wrote, as
the Mayans wrote glyphs. Many glyphs combined together made sentences and even
more told entire stories! Mostly wealthy people learn how to read and write in Mayan
hieroglyphics. These people wrote on a strip of bark or leather any message they did.
Then, They did this so they could make books. A Mayan book is called a codex or codices
for many books. Sadly, only 4 of these books survive to this day after the Spanish burned
most of these codies.

The Mayan people lived in Central America, which is a hot and humid place with
tropical weather like rainstorms. They might have not wore clothing in the hot days and
some thick clothing to protect them from the rain.

There were 3 things in Public Administrators. One of them were the leaders of the armies they captured. The second were the tax collectors. They all collected
taxes, but each family had their own. That's a bit weird. They keep the taxes in order the third one.

Commoners

These people had the lowest rank in the society and were normal people who had a normal life. Artisans were higher-level craftsmen that made pottery and
golden jewelry for the more superior people. The farmers had the lowest rank. Most of the commoners were farmers. However, they were also important
because they were the ones who grew all the food and gave ⅔ of the supply to the government. The Inca government also needed to rely on them for
prosperity.
