SAMPLE QUESTION
Read the following message from your friend, Aminah.
Hi Emily,
I would like to invite you for a movie on Saturday. Do you
prefer to watch comedy, action or horror? Or would you like to watch
something else? Please let me know so that I can book the tickets.
From,
Aminah
In about 80 words, write a message to Aminah giving a
suggestion.
Introduction/ Purpose:
• I’ve received your message about watching a movie
this weekend.
• I read your message yesterday and gave it a serious
thought.
• I’ve read your message and I put on my thinking
cap about your movie invitation.
• I’m writing to give you my choice for a movie.
• I received your message yesterday. In your
message, you asked me about watching a movie
with you.
Purpose:
I would choose a comedy because …
I think we should watch a comedy as …
I think comedy is the best option.
My suggestion is to watch a comedy because I
know it is your cup of tea.
Let’s watch a comedy and coincidently there’s a
new comedy in the cinema.
Our heads have been buried in piles of books for
nearly a month already so I think we should watch
a comedy.
Contents:
There is a new comedy in the cinema starred by your
favourite actor; Rowan Atkinson. You told me last
time you enjoyed watching him …
A comedy will help us to have a few laughs and can
unwind us from studying non-stop for the coming
PT3 examination.
We need a little bit of laughter at this point in our life
as we are diligently revising and studying for PT3
examination.
We have to smile because things in this life
sometimes wear us out and break us down.
Conclusion:
• I hope you like my choice. Take care.
• That’s all from me. Bye.
• Wishing you all the best.
• Hopefully you will agree with my choice. Bye.
• Thanks for your invitation…
• I need to pen of now. See you this Saturday.
• I look forward to our Saturday movie.
• I always look forward to hearing from you. Bye.
THANK YOU
