Battles of Guadalcanal, lwo Jima, Guam, Return to the Philippines
and the island invasions, North Africa, Sicily, ltaly, Normandy, Hiroshima
Battle of the Bulge, Crossing the Rhine, Concentration Camps,
POWs, back and forth from the Pacific to the European theaters. Korea
Those who participated not only on land and sea, but in the air Vietnam
also. Men with medals like the Bronze Star, Silver Star,
Distinguished Flying Cross, Navy Cross, Distinguished Service
Cross and yes, the Congressional Medal of Honor...
all have stories to tell.
From flying the "Hump" in the China-Burma-lndia theater to the
bombing of "Hitler's Black Gold" in Ploesti, Romania.
The stories of survival at sea in shark infested waters after being
torpedoed, and survival in the jungles of the South Pacific behind
enemy lines, will bring stark reality into the classrooms.
And then there is Korea ... From Pusan to Inchon and the 38th
Parallel and the Chosin Reservoir. Follow these with those who
served in the jungles of Vietnam, the perils, the differences --
la Drang, Haiphong Harbor, the TET Offensive and others...
