INTRODUCTION:
The Malay language is fading away day by day. It happens because some
people who prefer to speak English than speaking Malay language. This
occurs as a result of some individuals’ attitudes about speaking Malay as
opposed to English. Not only that, this issue also has an impact where
Malay language has began to replace by English in public administration,
the courts, and the primary language of instruction in national schools and
public institutions. If we continue to overlook our Malay language and
continue to exalt foreign languages, this situation would have a
detrimental impact. Thus, we must take responsibility for elevating the
Malay language in our nation so that others do not despise it. In
addition,we should be aware of the varied functions and significance of
the Malay language. So, what is the role of Malay language at hand?
IDEA 1 :
Malaysia’s official language is one of the role of Malay language.
In Malaysia, Malay language the official language that must be used
in administration at all levels including the federal government,
state governments and public authorities, including government-
affiliated business (GLCs) and it is utilised to handle every issues
relating to country administration. The Malay language must be
used by the government in all business for instance, speaking in
Malay language when making a official statement on television to
strengthen the standing of our Malay language. We ought to utilise
less English in the business of our nation.
IDEA 2 :
The development of Malaysian unity also greatly influenced by
the races that we have in Malaysia. Among them are Malay,
Chinese, Indian, iban, kadazan and so on. This demonstrates how
people of all races and ethnicity communicate with one another
in Malay. Malay is the language that Malaysians use to
communicate with one another. In addition, to being able to
respect our national language, we will grow closer if we speak the
same language. Even though the Malay language is not the mother
tongue of people outside Malay race, this condition can
nonetheless help us speak it more fluently.
IDEA 3 :
Additionally, the Malay language plays a crucial role in education
as a nation state by serving as the medium of instruction in primary,
secondary, and public higher education institutions. In order to
strengthen national unity, the Malaysian Ministry of Education
(KPM) launched the 2006–2010 Education Master Plan, which
continues to place a strong emphasis on the role of the Malay
language as the language of knowledge and the language of unity.
Students are able to communicate with friends of different races
since they are proficient in Malay. They will also develop respect for
one another and an understanding of different races' cultures.

In conclusion, the Malay language can be thought of as its life.
The Malay language is also known to play a variety of roles. As a
result, we should be proud to speak Malay since it is our nation’s
official language. Additionally, this will enhance the nation’s
reputation. As Malaysians, we should use and dignify the Malay
language in regional Malaysia. Pupils also in school, should exploit
the Malaysian language in order to attract interest in learning the
Malaysian language.Malaysians should also exploit the language
Malay on internet sites so that it can be learned by people all over
the world.
