Director’s Notes

When I first saw this show produced at SUNY Plattsburgh a few years
ago, I knew it would be one that I would eventually bring to this stage.
The beautiful story of finding truth through loss resonates with me, as
I’m sure it does with each and every one of you. The fact that that
truth reveals things that Agnes is not completely comfortable with just
makes the story all that more real. We all have to face things at times
that we are not aware of and that make us uncomfortable. Our stu-
dents face that every day, sometimes in every interaction. It is easy to
dismiss today’s worries as a complication of social media and the
world we now live in, but the truth rings forth in a piece set in 1995
that these troubles have always been present. Many of our young peo-
ple feel just as “othered” today as Tilly and Lily felt in 1995, for a vari-
ety of reasons. Bullying is just as rampant, and just as vicious. This is a
show designed to challenge us as audience members.

It takes an incredible amount of dedication and teamwork to pull off a
production of this magnitude. Our fight choreographer Dr. Jay Pecora
from SUNY Potsdam spent countless hours with us (and quite a few
more traveling back and forth)! I could not do any of these productions
without the skill and support of my incredible production team: Nikki,
Amber, and Allison, who spend many late, late nights and weekends
working with students and on their own to make the magic come to
life on stage. These incredible actors and crew members have poured
their literal heart and soul into the characters you see on this stage - I
will never not be in awe of their talent and courage. Finally, to my sen-
iors: Remi, Amara, Morgan, Brenna, Simone, Elijah, Bianka, Nate,
Ethan - whether your time with us has been forever or just a blink of
an eye, you matter; your presence here has had a positive impact on
people. Please continue to be the shining stars I know you are.

I hope you enjoy today’s show; this production seeks to challenge you
as audience members, and yes, maybe make us all just a little uncom-
fortable. Like it or not, our society seeks to divide and exclude us, ra-
ther than recognizing that we all have more in common than we do
different. I hope that this piece, in this moment, can bring us together
and remind us that everyone deserves love, friendship, and a sense of
belonging. Even geeks.

Who’s Who In The Cast & Crew

Lucas Allen (Steve) is in 11th grade and is thrilled and so grate-
ful to finally be back onstage with the rest of his friends. This is
Lucas’s third Peru Drama Club production; he was first in the
ensemble for Tuck Everlasting, a soloist in “All Together Now”
and a lead in Bright Star. When Lucas isn’t performing he is
spending time with friends and family or working. He sends
hugs and kisses to his cast and crew, his mom for everything
she does for him and deals with his craziness. He also wants to
shout out his sister, brother, and friends, and especially Mr.
Urban (our fantastic director). He thanks them dearly for their
dedicated, hard work for putting this show on this year. Stay
safe and enjoy the show.
Amber Arnold (Props Master) says congratulations to the cast
and crew of “She Kills Monsters.” This is her 13th year working
with Peru Drama Club. Some of her favorites shows with the
group have been Tuck Everlasting (Director), The Addams Fam-
ily (Prop Master), Rock of Ages (Prop Master), and Newsies
(Prop Master). For the last 4 years Amber has worked as the
ELL & MLL Teacher for Peru CSD. She also is the Event Lead
for the Relay For Life of Plattsburgh. She thanks everyone for
their support. She is very proud of her ‘drama babies’ and all
their hard work!

Remi Beauharnois (Tilly Evans) Hello! Welcome to Peru Dra-
ma Club’s production of “She Kills Monsters.” Remi has been
stoked for this play and her return to drama after a Covid inter-
mission. In the past she has done “The Giver” (Lily), Rock of
Ages (Constance), James and the Giant Peach (Mrs. Trotter),
“Almost, Maine” (she doesn't remember), Newsies (Crutchie),
“A Christmas Story” (Schwartz), Tuck Everlasting (Featured
Dancer), “One Stoplight Town” (as crew), and “All Together
Now” (as crew) with the Peru Drama Club. Remi is a Peru sen-
ior and could think of no better play to be her last. “I mean you
get to fight with swords and have magic, it doesn't get any bet-
ter.” Outside of the auditorium, you’ll find Remi most likely
studying or reading a book. But if she's having fun you'll see her
on a mountain biking, hiking, or eating ice cream. Remi hopes
you enjoy this show to its fullest and have a lovely evening.
Destini Bresette (Farrah) is a 10th grader and is very excited to
perform in “She Kills Monsters” with the rest of her friends.
This is Destini’s first Peru Drama Club production, but she has
performed in other things in the past. Destini was in Applecrate
in elementary school and performed in the ensemble for The
Lion King, she has been in about four Talent Shows, and she has
done chorus all throughout middle and high school other than
her freshman year. This year she stepped back into the musical/
performing parts of her life by first performing in the 2022 Tal-
ent Show, then All-State, and now “She Kills Monsters.” When
Destini isn’t performing, you can often find her spending time

Who’s Who In The Cast & Crew

with her fellow “theatre kid” friends, or family. She is so grate-
ful to all her friends, fellow cast members, Mr. Urban (our abso-
lutely fantabulous director) for helping her come forward and
audition for “She Kills Monsters,” and especially Z Young and
Emma Hill. Destini is used to staying in her shell, but this year
she is branching out, and trying new things that she never
thought in a million years she would do, and she is so beyond
excited for what is to come. She hopes that everyone is having a
great night and that everyone stays safe, and enjoys the show!
Amara Corrigan (Agnes Evans) is a Senior at Peru High
School. She is very excited to be Agnes Evans. This will be her
9th show with PDC and her 15th show. You might have seen
her as Winnie in Tuck Everlasting or as Alice Murphy in Bright
Star. Along with being on stage she enjoys being off stage.
Amara has done crew for 4 shows and can’t wait to do more.
She is the President of the Drama Club and of SkillsUSA, pre-
paring for leadership in the world of work. Amara also takes CV
-Tec’s early childhood education program. She has been award-
ed as the NYS title winner in infant CPR. In her free time, she
enjoys researching ways to make herself a better teacher. She
would like to thank her family and friends for being such big
supporters. And she would also like to thank the cast and crew
for making this show happen. She thanks you for coming and
hopes you enjoy the show! P.S. Fight on stage is harder than it
looks!

Zoee Corrigan (Stage Crew) is a freshman this year. She’s very
excited about her third show with the Peru Drama Club. Outside
of drama club, you can find Zoee dancing away to some random
kpop song, but when in drama club you can find Zoee behind
the stage as a stage crew. She is very thankful for Nikki (Stage
Manager) and Mr. Urban (our wonderful director). She’s also
very thankful for you coming and hopes you enjoy the show!

Nate De Boos (Chuck) is excited to perform with the Peru Dra-
ma Club in its production of “She Kills Monsters.” Though this
is his first time working with the Peru Drama Club he is con-
stantly performing, making his debut appearance as Cat in the
Hat in Seussical Jr. and most recently Maui in Moana Jr. In his
spare time he loves to draw, dance, and sing. He would also like
to thank his family for helping prepare for his shows and get
from place to place on time, his friends for making the Peru
theatre program a wonderful experience to be a part of, and you
for taking time to see the show and support local performers!

Who’s Who In The Cast & Crew

Morgan Eagleson (Bugbear) is a senior and is very enthusias-
tic about being able to bring her love of dance and theatre to
life on stage. Being able to combine two of her favorite things
is like a dream come true. Morgan has always enjoyed being
heavily involved in acting, singing, and dancing. Morgan has
been in three drama club productions, “All Together Now,”
Bright Star, and “Teen.” Morgan wants to thank her family and
friends for putting up for all of her shenanigans. “If you put
your mind to it, you can accomplish anything.” George McFly

Connor Gonyea (Tiamat, Monster) is in 10th grade and this is
his debut to the stage. He is excited to show off his skills in
“She Kills Monsters” as Tiamat and hopes you enjoy the show.
He also is in high school chorus, S.A.V.E, Anime Club and
Drama Club. Yowie wowie that's a lot. When Connor is not
doing all of that, in his free time he is hanging out with friends,
playing video games or making music with his band Lymm
grnn. He wants to thank all the actors, crew and production
team for their great work and help to make this all possible.

Adrianna Haley (Ensemble) is in 8th grade and this is her
second year in drama club; she performed in “Teen” last year.
She originally joined for the trips but quickly fell in love with
the drama club. Her favorite musical to date is Come From
Away, ironically her first PDC activity. When not on stage she
can be found swimming, ice skating, reading in the library, or
spending time with her friends and family. She is super excited
to be a part of the drama club’s production of “She Kills Mon-
sters.” She is very thankful for her family and friends who have
supported her through all this.
Emma Hill (Kaliope/Kelly) has been a loyal member of Peru’s
Drama Club for five years! She has been included in many of
Peru’s productions, including “One Stoplight Town,” “A
Christmas Story, “All Together Now,” and Bright Star. Emma
cherishes her extracurricular activities and academic studies.
She is the current president of S.A.V.E Club and enjoys partici-
pation in choral and art events. From a young age, Emma has
always enjoyed the theater; some of her favorite productions
include Hamilton, Wicked, Bandstand, and Beetlejuice. She
would like to appreciate her mother, sisters, Christopher Urban
and her dearest friend in the whole world; Z Young. Emma’s
friends are her family; she would like to recognise: Destini
Bresette, Malik McDuffie, Venus Newtown, Amelia Rock,
Kieran Shult, Xander St. Cyr, and Nate De Boos. Lastly, she
would like to thank the cast and crew for their continued sup-
port and encouragement. "Family isn't always blood, it's the
people in your life who want you in theirs: the ones who accept
you for who you are, the ones who would do anything to see
you smile and who love you no matter what.” Maya Angelou.

Who’s Who In The Cast & Crew

Nikki Hilchey (Stage Manager, Costumer) is so very proud of
the cast and crew's efforts to bring this amazing show to the
stage! Nikki has worked on technical aspects of over 100 shows
since 1999 locally and in the Elmira area. Some favorite shows
include being a dresser for the Broadway tour of Jekyll & Hyde,
stage managing South Pacific starring Leslie & George Hearn at
SUNY Plattsburgh, stage managing and assistant directing
RENT with Essex Theatre Company in the pre-renovated Strand
Theatre, stage managing “Next Fall” for the North Country Cul-
tural Center for the Arts, and a number of shows with Peru Dra-
ma Club. When Nikki isn’t working on shows, she spends her
days fundraising for Girl Scouts of Northeastern New York and
exploring the Adirondacks.
Brenna LaHart (Lithith/Lily), a senior, is very excited to be a
part of Peru Drama Club’s production of “She Kills Monsters!”
Brenna has been involved in several productions prior to this
and couldn't be happier with the final product of every late-night
and early-morning rehearsal! Brenna is grateful for the support
from all of her family members, driving back and forth from
school and rehearsal on the occasion that her car won't start, on
top of trips back home for extra snacks! In addition, she would
like to thank her teachers, coaches, and friends for being so
compassionate towards her busy schedule. She hopes you enjoy
the show and feel inspired to create your own adventure!

Simone LaPlante (Sound Crew) is a senior in high school. This
is her 8th production and 6th year in Peru Drama Club, and she
is excited to be working in the sound booth for this year’s play,
“She Kills Monsters.” Simone has performed in Peru’s produc-
tions of Rock of Ages (ensemble), James and the Giant Peach
(featured dancer), Newsies (Mike), Tuck Everlasting (featured
dancer/teenage Winnie), “One Stoplight Town” (Girl/Teen
Girl), and Bright Star (Daryl Ames), as well as working in crew
for “All Together Now” and she has participated in NCBE’s
The Nutcracker Ballet for 8 years (2011-2013 and 2015-2019).
Besides musicals, Simone has been weightlifting, skiing, and
running track and cross country. Contrary to popular belief
(popular being coach LeBlanc), Simone is also not a vegan.
Some of Simone’s hobbies include ping-pong and making paper
cranes. Simone also plays the French horn! She hopes you enjoy
the show and her magic missile!

Elijah Lederman (Miles) is a senior at Peru High School and
welding student at CV-Tec. This is his first year doing drama
club and he couldn’t be happier with his decision. Elijah would
like to thank Remi Beaharnois for encouraging him to join dra-
ma club, as well as his friends and family for their support. Out-
side of drama, Elijah enjoys reading, working out, hiking, and is
on the cross country and tennis teams. Elijah is happy to have
you here tonight and sincerely hopes that you enjoy the show.

Who’s Who In The Cast & Crew

Malik McDuffie (Vera The Beholder, Kobald) is a 10th grader
who made his theatrical debut in Bright Star as Dr. Norquist.
Since the 4th grade he has been involved in his former school
district’s choir programs. His love for musical theater began in
6th grade when he performed Hamilton’s “My Shot” in choir
and looked further into the musical. For two years he became a
member of the middle school music group Fermata Nowhere, an
a capella cover song and dance group. He also most recently
had many roles in the play “Teen.” He’d like to thank Emma
Hill, Z Young, and Morgan Eagleson for convincing him to join
the Peru Drama Club and making him feel welcome. When not
singing and dancing he enjoys recreational athletic activities, as
well as improving his skills at drawing. Tonight he’s very excit-
ed to perform for you alongside his friends.
Gracen Pandolph (Ensemble) is in 9th grade. She has worked
backstage recording and broadcasting the productions since 8th
grade. This is her first year joining us. When Gracen isn’t on
stage you can find her with friends and family. She likes run-
ning and baking. She hopes you enjoy the show and thanks for
attending.

Araya Pierre Louis (Cheerleader, Monster) is in 9th grade and
is so excited for you to see this production of “She Kills Mon-
sters.” Araya will be playing a cheerleader. This is Araya's 5th
performance with PDC and definitely won't be her last. She
would like to give a special thanks to her teachers, family, and
friends for supporting her and watching her grow. "I regard the
theater as the greatest of all art forms, the most immediate way
in which a human being can share with another the sense of
what it is to be a human being." Oscar Wilde
Lily Reed (Narrator, Ensemble) is very proud to be a part of the
play “She Kills Monsters.” This will be Lily’s first performance
with the rest of the cast. She would like to thank her Mom, Dad,
Sister and best friends, Jayla, Lorelei, and Addy. She hopes you
enjoy the show and tune in for future events!

Who’s Who In The Cast & Crew

Amelia Rock (Kobald, Wraith) is in 10th grade at Peru High
School. This is her first production ever, and she is very excited
to be part of the drama club. She has dreamed of being in a pro-
duction since she was a kid and is very proud of where she has
come today. Amelia would like to thank her very very best
friend Emma Hill for encouraging her in wanting to do the pro-
ductions.

Breanna Rock (Evil Tina) is a 10th grader, and is thrilled to be
back onstage with the spotlight. This is Breanna’s third perfor-
mance; she was first in “A Christmas Story” as Randy, then in
“Teens” she was Amanda and Stacy. When Breanna isn't per-
forming, she is listening to music and relaxing with friends. She
sends love to the cast and crew, her mother and siblings for
putting up with her crazy, and Urban (our director) for putting
up with me. She hopes you stay safe, and enjoy the show!

Keiran Shult (Orcus/Ronnie) is excited to play the role of Or-
cus in the play “She Kills Monsters” this year! He is thrilled to
finally be on the stage, as he spent much of his young life in and
around multiple professional productions that were directed by
his mom. Keiran has studied acting (including monologue work
and audition preparation) with Timothy Busfield and Melissa
Gilbert while living downstate, in addition to being a stagehand
for semi-professional productions at SUNY Potsdam’s CPS
Productions. Keiran enjoys being on stage, telling a story and
bringing characters to life. He would like to thank his musical
mentors (mom and dad) for exposing him to theater at such a
young age, sharing their love of theater, and giving him their
awesome musical DNA!
Jake Slattery (Bugbear, Wraith, Ensemble) is a freshman at
Peru High School and is very happy to be a part of Peru Drama
Club’s “She Kills Monsters.” Jake has been in previous shows
such as Bright Star. His previous roles include Max from last
year’s musical Bright Star and Nerd, Lucas, and Brett from last
year’s play “Teen.” This is his second year in Peru Drama Club
and third show. Jake is excited for the years to come. He is
thankful for all the wonderful opportunities that have come into
his life. Jake hopes you enjoy the show and thanks you for sup-
porting or continuing to support Peru Drama Club, it could not
be done without you!

Who’s Who In The Cast & Crew

Bianka Snider (Farrah) is a senior at Peru High School. She
has been working with the drama club since 7th grade. She is
now the Peru Drama Club Social Media Manager. Though she
has been involved in many musicals including Newsies, Willy
Wonka Jr, and Bright Star, this will be Bianka’s first ever play.
She is excited to have been a part of this production and to show
you all of her, and the cast and crew’s hard work. In her spare
time, which she hardly ever has, Bianka enjoys hanging out
with her friends and doing cosmetology, as she attends CV-Tec
Plattsburgh for it. She would like to shout out all of her friends
and family, as they inspire her everyday to improve, and have
made her the young woman she is today. She hopes you enjoy
the show! Break a leg cast and crew!

Christopher Urban (Director) is in awe of this tremendous cast
and crew! Director of Vocal Music and Theatre at Peru Jr/Sr
High School, Chris is overwhelmingly involved in all of the
drama at Peru. He has recently directed Bright Star, as well as
Tuck Everlasting and "The Diary of Anne Frank" on Peru's
stage, and was music director for The Producers and The Last
Five Years (Adirondack Regional Theatre) at the Strand Thea-
tre, as well as Into the Woods (Artistry Community Theatre). On
stage he has enjoyed performing in various roles – favorites
include Albert Peterson in Bye Bye Birdie and Jimmy Smith in
No No Nanette. Now you are much more likely to find him on
headset or at the piano in the pit. Chris hopes that we can enter-
tain and maybe make you ponder a little with this spectacular
piece by Qui Nguyen, and remember to be kind to everyone.
“All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue
them,” Walt Disney

Evelyn Verity (Evil Gabbi) is very grateful to be a part of this
amazing production of “She Kills Monsters.” She is a sopho-
more and has been in six Adirondack Regional Theater (ART)
productions, but this is her first Peru Drama Club show. She has
recently starred as Pua and Tamatoa in the ART summer pro-
duction of Moana and as Duchess in The Aristocats. When Eve-
lyn is (rarely) offstage, you can usually find her horseback rid-
ing through her favorite mountain trail or spending time with
friends. She would like to thank her Mom and Dad for their
unconditional support and her friends, Bianka, Nate, Destini,
Araya, Brenna, Remi, and Lucas for constantly being there for
her. She would also like to thank the crew and directors Mr.
Urban, Nikki, Amber, and Allison for all their hard work. This
show would not be possible without this wonderful cast and
crew. She hopes you enjoy the show!

Who’s Who In The Cast & Crew

Jayla Wade (Vera) is a junior at Peru High School and very ex-
cited for her first large scale play! Jayla has been in one other
show at Peru, that being the play “Teen.” In her spare time she
enjoys playing video games, cosplaying, singing, and listening to
all kinds of music. She loves all of the cast and crew she gets to
work with! She wants to thank everyone for being there for her
when she needs it! Especially her close friend Lily Badger and
the rest of her family who always have her back and love her like
their own family!

Lorelei Wiggins (Bugbear, Ensemble) is really loving participat-
ing in Peru's drama club's production of “She Kills Monsters.”
She is an ensemble member as well as a bugbear and monster.
Lorelei has done productions outside of Peru Drama Club and
they were Alice In Wonderland Jr, Xanadu Jr, and Willy Wonka
Jr. She did these shows with ART (Adirondack Regional Thea-
ter). In Alice In Wonderland Lorelei was a sea creature and en-
semble member, in Xanadu she was an ensemble member, lastly
in Willy Wonka she was an oompa loompa dancer as well as an
ensemble member. She has also done a ballet with Center Stage
Dance in Plattsburgh. Lorelei enjoyed all of the productions she
has done so far and is excited to do more. For Peru’s productions
Lorelei has done Tuck Everlasting as an ensemble member as
well as a carnie in the carnival scene.
Z Young (Fight Captain, Wraith, Ensemble) is so excited to be in
another show with Peru Drama Club! They have performed in a
few shows at Clinton Community College, and have also been
featured in Newsies, “Almost, Maine,” “All Together Now!,” and
Bright Star here at Peru. They also assisted in stage managing
Mary Poppins with ART and PHS over the summer. Z is very
glad that you’re here and hopes that you enjoy the show! “Good
taste is the enemy of creativity.” Pablo Picasso
