RC DOLORES THEME SONG
Lyrics and texts by RTN Tex Lapuz
We’re the young men from Dolores.
We’re Rotarians straight and true.

Dedicated to the service;
Among ourselves and others too.
While we pledge our helping hands;

For a cause and noble stand.
Let Dolores roll its wheel;
With objectives to fulfill.

We are ready to help the needy.
For love of GOD and humanity.

Serve the country;
Serve the community;
And work in love and unity.
While we strive to do our best;
To fulfill the 4-way test,
That in spirit will be blessed;
ROTARY CLUB OF DOLORES!
THE MAN WHO LOST MONDAY
He played at his work on Rotary Day,
And thought, in the end, that it would pay.
He sharpened his pencil, and answered the phone.
He scolded a clerk, and felt quite alone,
Because, in his secret thoughts, he knew
Nothing was gained in that hour or two,
THE DAY THAT HE LOST MONDAY
He ate his lunch, but ate alone;
He lost a thought that would have grown.
To high resolves and nobles deeds,
That would help to meet the wide world’s needs,
And a visitors whom, to life’s long end,
He would have been glad to call a friend,
ON THE DAY THAT HE LOST MONDAY
When you are absent on a ROTARY DAY,
There are two loses, forever and aye:
You lost the time with friendly men,
You can never retrieve again;
And they lose you and your friendly smile.
No think and see if that’s worthwhile,
BEFORE YOU LOSE A MONDAY

PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

Fellow Rotarians, Good Evening!
It’s nice to see you attending our first meeting for July. I want to personally
thank IPP Wilbert Casupanan, the All Star Season Team, the members, and the
Pillars of our Club for being the Most Outstanding Club in District 3790. And for
receiving the Most Outstanding President, Secretary, and Rotarian awards. I’d
also like to give thanks for the award our Assistant Governor received and not
to mention 12 more awards that was endowned to our club.
I would thank you all for the trust and support you have given our Rotary Club
so that we could continue leading together as a great team this Rotary Year
2017-18. Thank you for attending the pre-planning, planning events, Govern-
er’s visit, 39th Induction and Turn-over ceremonies, Board Meeting, and finally
for coming to our cluster Kick-off Tree Planting and Feeding project. Special
thanks to PP Renz Tiomico for providing the food that we gave to the less for-
tunate members of our community during the kick-off event.
During the Kick-off, we also inspected our ongoing Toilet Project at the San
Agustin Elementary School Annex, St. Jude Village, CSFP.
I am now asking for your continued support in terms of paying our induction
fees and yearly dues. This will go a long way in helping us achieve our club
goals. We have revamp the Makanyan Gazette to make it more appealing to
advertise and support our club. It will have a digitial copy along side a physical
copy provided for free to all our almost 50 Rotarian members - not to mention
to those who they’ll share it with.
This Rotary Club is your Club. Be active, support club activities, and join cluster
and district activities. There is no greater reward than making a difference in
people’s lives. We’d also like to invite Rotaract to attend our meetings at least
twice a month. Please continue to financially support our upcoming projects.
We hope to see you there.
Leoncio “Leo” Co
President, RY 2017-18

“A couple was celebrating their golden wedding anniversary. The broom was

asked what was their secret for their tranquil relationship.”

“Well, it dates back to our honeymoon,” explained the man. We visited the
Grand Canyon and took a trip down to the bottom of the canyon on a pack
mule.

We hadn’t gone too far when my wife’s mule stumbled. My wife quietly said,
“that’s once.”

We proceeded a little further and the mule stumbled again. Once more my wife
quietly said, “That’s twice.”

We hadn’t gone a half-mile when the mule stumbled the third time. My wife
quietly removed a revolver from her purse and shot the mule dead.

”I started an angry protest over her treatment of the mule, when she looked at

me, and quietly said, “That’s once.

“A therapist has a theory that couples who make love once a day are the

happiest. So he tests it at a seminar by asking those assembled, “How many
people here make love once a day?” Half the people raise their hands, each of
them grinning widely. “Once a week?” A third of
the audience members raise
their hands, their grins a bit less vibrant. “Once a month?” A few hands tepidly
go up. Then he asks, “OK, how about once a year?”

One man in the back jumps up and down, jubilantly waving his hands. The
therapist is shocked—this disproves his theory. “If you make love only once a
year,” he asks, “why are you so happy?”
