CONCLUSION

Basement construction is essential for structures that require more space but have
limited land available. As the structure of the building was built below ground level, there is no
need to worry about land constraints. Numerous buildings have been constructed in recent
years, resulting in inefficient land utilisation. Basement construction can solve all of these
problems. As new technologies and ideas emerge, our world is changing at a breakneck pace.
Furthermore, the construction industry is growing in several areas, including innovation and the
use of cutting-edge technologies. As a result, basements have been constructed since the
1950s.

The construction of one or more levels above ground level to provide additional storey
height to the structure is known as a basement. It is critical to understand that just because a
builder is skilled above ground does not imply that they have the specialised skills and
experience to build below ground. Basement renovations can be disastrous. The development
of the basement and its subsequent use have had a significant impact on the construction
industry and have provided significant benefits in terms of safety, additional space, and
aesthetics. As a result, the basement construction described in these two case studies has
benefited the operations of the buildings in which they were built.

In a nutshell, we can say that top-down basement systems are the ideal match for
high-rise structures. According to our both case studies, the top-down approach to project
planning is currently widely used as it is now a popular method. Even though the design for this
solution is more difficult due to the strut and slab being built at the same time, this method is
easier to build because excavation and construction will take place concurrently. Choosing the
right approach is critical because it influences the cost, safety, and duration of basement
construction. Therefore, it is necessary to limit or eliminate danger during the construction
process followed by all the personnel who must adhere to all of these procedures and
guidelines. Basement construction is difficult because it requires work below ground level that
must be supervised by a skilled individual. All construction participants must embrace or be
willing to accept the basement process in order to move the industry forward in ensuring the
basement project can be done on track.
