Imprints on our
Hearts
I was going to Harvesters on a Saturday for Community Service. My dad parked
the car and when I got out, I saw a dog. It looked at me, and I gulped. BAM! It
started chasing after me, and I ran around the car, frantically. Then I slowed down, and it
looked longingly at me as I walked away. After a while, I came out of the Harvester’s
Center. I had forgotten about the dog, but it hadn’t forgotten me! It came trotting next to
me and nuzzled me. I smiled, because these small moments make life special.
The Winding
Tornado
We had come back from dinner and a storm was raging outside. I shivered as I
went to pack my bags for school the next day. Then it happened. All the lights went out
and we realized a tornado was very close to where we were. I found my mom through the
darkness and we searched for the candles. I found a flashlight as we rummaged through each
drawer looking for the candles. I couldn't find the candles and the flashlight only gave a dim
beam of light. I saw a flicker of light… Then another. Then, the lights came back on...
