Such a happy morning spent photographing this lovely family in Quorn, Leicester. The girls Emily and Amelia are so sweet - it's obvious little Emily adores her big sister!
Amelia's mum warned me in advance that she can be a little shy sometimes; in situations like that I find it best to get down to their level, sit on the floor, maybe ask a few gentle questions but to try not to overwhelm the child. It is more effective to blend into the background as much as possible, and let the child approach you when they are ready. The shyness never lasts long!
This session started indoors, watching the girls play, then onto the sofa for stories and a cuddle before we headed out for a walk with the dogs - who are very much part of the family too!
