About the Author

My name is Nor Najwa bt Habli. I am from
PPISMP BM5. I am studying at Ipg Kampus
Tun Hussien Onn.

The purpose I create this e-book is to finish the
task that has been assigned. I chose the essay
in title 'My Favourite Childhood Memory' is
because I would like to share my sweet

moments that I create with family and friends

Then, I would like to acknowledge and give my warmest
thank to my lecturer, Dr Yee Bee Choo. Her guidance and
adviced carried me through all the stages of writing this
Effective Communication In English GEEC project. And I
would also like to thank to my parents and my friends as a
whole for their continuous support and understanding
when undertaking this task.

Itsy bitsy spider went up to
waterspout, down came the rain
and washed the spider out’. Every
time this song was played,
automatically, I will remember the
sweet memories of my childhood.

Childhood is the happiest period of my life. Sometimes I wish to have a
time machine to go back to my childhood and capture all the memories.
As for me, being a kid is the most fun phase. I enjoyed the freedom when
I had no responsibility. The things that I know just watching cartoon and
playing with sisters and friends. I think the most important thing which
made my childhood memorable is love and care of the family members. I
could not imagine how my life would be without them. Every moment is
precious to me. I could laugh every time I recollect my childhood days
that full of enjoyment.

My house was always noisy with
the sound of me quarrelling with
my sister. As the youngest, I did
not deny that I was very annoying
and naughty. Sometimes, the
quarrel was started by me. Once, I
stole my sister’s birthday present.

I remember clearl
y, my parents gave my sister a cute teddy
bear. I asked her to hold the teddy bear for a moment. Out of
the blue, I started sobbing and did not want to return the
teddy bear. Screaming like a crazy girl is one of the tactics that
I always use to get something that I want. I am not sure if other
kids will behave like me when they were jealous of their sister’s
present. Then, my mother persuaded me kindly to give the
teddy bear back to my sister. Even though this story does not
describe the sweet moment, yet it become my favourite
memory s I grow up, I no longer have the oppotunity to quarrel
with my sister like before.

Other than that, my favourite
childhood memory is going on
holiday. School holidays are the most
awaited moment. When I was seven,
my parents planned for a holiday in
Pulau Pangkor. I was so excited to
know that my grandmother and
cousins would come along. Packing all
the needed belonging and sing my
favourite song is the best moment
ever. My aunt booked a family resort
for three days and two nights. We
started our journey early in the
morning. So that we will be able to do
more activities there.
We went to the Lum
ut Ferry Terminal and boarded a ferry
to Pulau Pangkor. O
n the next day, we had picnic and enjoy
the beautiful view of the beach. While I walk around the
beach ,suddenly my cousins ask me to join the o ride a
banana boat. I was on cloud nine. I asked my parent’s
permission and they allowed it. It was my first time riding
banana boat which was the scariest moment in my life. The
drivers kept advised us to check our life jacket. the
beginning, the boat move slowly, then the driver kept rising
up the speed until we all fall when the banana boat flipped.
This was one of the best activities I ever had in my
childhood. I could not wait to spend the sweet time like this
again with my family.

Apart from that, I like to join a
singing competition that held by
my school annually during my
childhood. The competition will be
participated by class. I still
remembered when my class, 1 Adil
be the winner and we got RM300. It
is not easy like ABC to compete the
other class who older than us. My
classroom teacher, Pn. Mariamah
was so talented and expert in
choosing music and song. She
chose the perfect song that was
suitable for our age.

At that time, I was
really excited. I practised the song every
day in front of my
family members until my sister could
memorize every single lyrics and melody of the song. Then
the day of the competition arrived. I was so nervous while
facing the crowd. I hold my friend’s hand to overcome my
fear. Suddenly, I heard Cikgu Mariamah clapped and
shouting to cheer us up. The encouragement makes me
gain my spirit. I tried to make the best performance by
singing as best as I can. Surprisingly, everybody gave us a
big round of applause. I am so glad to have the opportunity
to participate in the contest that teaches me to be more
confident. And this is the best moment that I created with
my classmate.

In a nutshell, when I was in a pensive mood, I
would reminisce over my childhood days with
glee. It taught me the meaning of love and how
important it is to appreciate our loved ones.
