The Mercantile Volleyball Association (MVA) of Sri Lanka is the apex body for Volleyball in the Mercantile Sector in Sri Lanka. Originally started in 1956, and was revived and revamped in the year 2012 and currently is the most successful and sort after Mercantile Sporting body in the island. WHO WE ARE ?
OUR OBJECTIVES The MVA is driven by an energetic, dedicated and a diverse Executive Committee comprising of a cross section of volunteers from Sri Lanka’s Mercantile Sector including apparel, telecommunication and FMCG sectors, whose only common ground is the love for the national game. The main objective of MVA is to provide a platform for Volleyball players of Mercantile Sector to continue their skills and talents. The Mercantile Volleyball Tournament, the main event organized by the MVA annually, has been a pipeline of unmatched volleyball talent to national level as well. MVA has also provided employment opportunities for budding Volleyball players to make them financially stable to continue their sport and coaching opportunities for Volleyball coaches in the country.

The MVA has also been collaborating with leading television channels in the country to telecast the finals of the Mercantile Volleyball Tournament every year for nine years, both pre and post COVID, being the only mercantile sporting event to be telecasted over television. The MVA also has a substantial social media reach through its Facebook page and the website, which are being followed mainly by young and energetic Volleyball players and Volleyball enthusiasts in the country.
