~Our Services~ Campus Map
You may already know that your advisor can help you select A
courses and plan your class schedule. But an advisor can assist you
in other ways, too. He or she can help you:
• Learn how to complete the registration process as a new
or transferring student
• Choose the program of study and degree or certificate
that will best meet your goals
• Select classes that will transfer to the four-year college of
your choice
• Learn about other sources of information and assistance,
such as tutoring services
• Develop time management skills
• Create a plan for raising your GPA if you are on scholastic
probation
~Meeting With an Advisor~
Academic advisors are available to meet with you throughout the
year — not just at registration time. For many students, academic
advising is done on a walk-in basis.
Before Your Advising Appointment
• If you are a new student, you are required to attend and
information session, as well as a Student Engagement
Experience (orientation).
• Read your college catalog. Be familiar with the courses and
requirements for your degree plan.
• Look through the class schedule to get an idea of courses you
might want to take.
• View Guided Pathways to Success:
