Parent Involvement
Parkwood Sharks RLC is a non-profit organisation providing the opportunity for your child
to play rugby league football. As such, we depend on our members and encourage
everyone to play an active role at the Club. All of our Committee members are dedicated
volunteers who also balance work and family commitments with their Club roles.
We value help from parents to aid us wherever possible. Even an hour of your time can
lessen another volunteer’s load. Most people have skills that could be useful to the Club
and you can volunteer regularly, or once in a while. Volunteering your time to help your
child’s Club is rewarding and children love to see their parents involved in their sporting life.
For each home game, from U6 to Seniors, we require:
o 1 x scorer
o Minimum 4 x Duty Officials
o 2 – 3 parents to help in the canteen for the hour whilst your child is training
o Cleaners (regularly throughout the day)
o Ball boys
At home games we are also allocated foreign games, that is games that don’t include a
Parkwood team. We need to provide a scorer and minimum 2 x Duty Officials for each of
these games as well.
Throughout the season there will be many opportunities to assist, so please become
involved and help make a difference. If you have other family members who would like to
help – grandparents, aunts and uncles – their help will be warmly welcomed too.
It is unfair to expect the same people to volunteer for these jobs all day, every single home
game. Please consider how you can help out and email the club at
[email protected] to find out where you can assist or to ask any questions.

Club Fundraising
The costs to administer the club include licences, insurances, various fees from the GCRL,
water and electricity rates to name just a few. These costs are simply not able to be
covered by player registration fees. We will be holding regular raffles and club functions
throughout the year – please encourage your friends and family to support your children
through raffle purchases. We hope to have a number of social events such as our yearly
Doofer Night, end of season Disco and the like. These events are a great way to get to
know your Committee and other families that are a part of your Club.
Team fundraising allows each team to do fundraising for their own team throughout the
season, however the club has a strict fundraising policy in regards to team fundraising,
there is a cap on amounts allowed to be raised and there is also a team fundraising form
needed to be filled out on commencement of fundraising.
These forms must be completed before any fundraising has started.
Fundraising forms can be collected in the office during office hours.
