2026-2027 Performance Calendar
I’M NOT A COMEDIAN... I’M LENNY BRUCEWe came to Eastern Illinois University to perform our show for the community and I wanted to take a moment to express our immense gratitude and highest regard for the experience we had. As a company, we have performed this show for 8 years and 465 performances. We have played over 30 cities in the US and Canada and we can say without hesitation that this was by far our most favorite experience on the road. Not only was everyone so incredibly diligent and professional in their specialty but they also were just an absolute joy to work with. Even though we did not “need” to be at the theater every day that we were in town, we were delighted to be and came every single day. In an industry where we come across a lot of lackadaisical, jaded and often uninspired tech crews, working with these students was an absolute breath of fresh air. Above all things, not only were they great to be around they also were just so good at what they do. The efficiency and talent is a huge indication of the level of education EIU provides to offer resources and opportunities for these young and aspiring professionals.
GROUP SAVINGS: BUY MORE, SAVE MORE!Unlock extreme savings with the code “GROUP” when you purchase 4 or more tickets for the same performance. You’ll save $5.00 per ticket - perfect for bringing the whole crew!SIX APPEAL VOCAL ENSEMBLE All of us were absolutely stunned by our experience performing in the Doudna Fine Arts Center, in no small part due the professionalism and care taken by the staff. They advanced every need, responded proactively to the demands of the evening, and many professional theater crews would benefit from their example: this is how you run a show! Our thanks for an unforgettable experience. The Doudna (and its incredible team) is a gem!!!I want to express our sincere gratitude for the wonderful experience we had at the Doudna Fine Arts Center. You are a unique presenter who truly understands and fulfills the needs of artists. R. Carlos Nakai specifically mentioned that you and your team stood out among the many organizations he has worked with.We were particularly impressed with the students who assisted with the concert operations. It is a significant challenge to train students while also ensuring a professional experience for artists, and they excelled. Each student was eager to please, knowledgeable, well-trained, and thorough. Our show has many moving parts, and everything was beautifully executed.CULTURAL CROSSROADS: DVOŘÁK IN AMERICA
Being on Doudna Crew was such an incredible gift. Between learning all sorts of technical skills for production of all types, working with an amazing team that became like a family, and working with so many outstanding professional artists, our time working in Doudna changed our lives. We even got engaged in front of the Doudna Christmas Tree in 2018! Sarah is currently an elementary music teacher in Flossmoor, Illinois and working towards her MMEd through EIU. Her knowledge of sound production from working at Doudna is more pertinent than she’d like to admit and is particularly helpful during musical season and all live performances. Sarah’s talents in event planning, organizing, and execution are something she credits to her time with Doudna. Erin is currently a band director in Midlothian, Illinois and is also currently earning her MA in Music Education from EIU. Thanks to all of the production builds at Doudna, she can now set up a district concert in record time. Working well under time constraints and pressure were skills she honed at Doudna, and she is a better educator because of it. ERIN BOZEK, ‘18 SARAH GORECKI BOZEK, ‘16

The Doudna Fine Arts Center is one of our happy places. Most often it’s attending one of the many student jazz concerts, but at many of the other performances offered too. We “came of age” during the beginnings of thearts-are-for-everyone era, spurred on by the creation of the National Endowment for the Arts. The spark created by the NEA led to the creation of state and local arts councils throughout the country, engaging people from all walks of life with the joys of artist expression and creation. That spark is kept alive at The Doudna, keeping the arts accessible and affordable, challenging and enjoyable. We are happy to help support the Doudna Fine Arts Center, along with its companion institution at EIU, the Tarble Museum of Art, to help sustain this legacy.BARBARA & MICHAEL WATTS

Counterpoint is a collaboration between pianist and composer Conrad Tao and choreographer and dancer Caleb Teicher. Hear Tao play works like the Aria from Bach’s Goldberg Variations while Teicher tap dances and explores other contemporary dance techniques. The duo explores the dichotomy between their individual perspectives and artistic practices, expanding their expressive capacities through a collective experience. Threading together dance and music, Tao and Teicher find the harmonic, rhythmic, and theatrical counterpoint between their contrasting traditions, driving the imagination and opening the heart.
