Bach to George Crumb to Caroline Shaw, as well as Roman’s own compositions. The program combines performance and storytelling into an emotional journey, as the cellist confronts the impact of the illness and the limitations that nearly ended his career.“Occasionally I get to meet an extraordinary young musician. Such is the case with Joshua Roman … To me, Joshua is one of the great exemplars of the ideal 21st-century musician. When literary editor Alice Murphy meets a young soldier just home from World War II, he awakens her longing for the child she once lost. Haunted by their unique connection, Alice sets out on a journey to understand her past - and what she finds has the power to transform both of their lives. With beautiful melodies and powerfully moving characters, the story unfolds as a rich tapestry of deep emotion. An uplifting theatrical journey that holds you tightly in its grasp, BRIGHT STAR is as refreshingly genuine as it is daringly hopeful.6 PERFORMANCES > THE THEATRETICKETS: $25/$20/$15GROUPS OF 4+ SAVE $5.00 PER TICKETPERFORMANCESFEB. 27 | 7:30 PMFEB. 28 | 7:30 PMMARCH 1 | 2 PMMARCH 6 | 7:30 PMMARCH 7 | 7:30 PMMARCH 8 | 2 PMMarch 2026
Masquerade is a collaborative and theatrical work incorporating multiple artistic mediums and elevated by the element of live singing and dance. Audience members will be immersed in an unpredictable environment of new, electronic symphonic music, and movement, encapsulating the liminal space of reality folding in on itself. The line between reality and fiction no longer exists. Truth belongs to the imagination of the beholder. Masquerade is an intra-active contemporary operatic dance performance choreographed by Roni Koresh and performed by the Koresh Dance Company with original music composed and sung live by American soprano and composer Sage DeAgro-Ruopp. EIU Graduate Thesis Exhibition April 2026Opening Reception @ The Tarble APRIL 10 | 5 PM Koresh Dance: MasqueradeAPRIL 11 | 7:30 PM Choral ConcertAPRIL 12 | 4 PM Jazz Lab Band & CombosAPRIL 14 | 7:30 PM A Doll’s House APRIL 16 | 7:30 PMAPRIL 17 | 7:30 PMAPRIL 18 | 7:30 PMAPRIL 19 | 2 PM Jazz EnsembleAPRIL 21 | 7:30 PM Concert & Symphonic BandAPRIL 23 | 7:30 PM Wind Symphony & Monticello H.S.
