BROWARDWinning two Readers Choice Awards this year — Best Business Owner (Male) and Best Esthetician — is a major moment for Jimmy Cohen, founder of J. Cohen’s Day Spa, a men’s wellness destination that has quickly become one of the most trusted names in South Florida. For Jimmy, the recognition hits deeply. “I am so honored just to be recognized,” he said. The awards celebrate both his personal dedication and the high standard of care that his spa has become known for. J. Cohen’s Day Spa stands out not only for its services, but for its philosophy. “We are a dermatologist recommended day spa for men,” Jimmy said — a distinction that speaks to the professionalism, training, and clinical precision that guide the work of his team. The spa has earned a reputation for offering a truly elevated experience. “We offer a 5 star experience and love to give back to our community,” he said, emphasizing that wellness at the spa extends beyond the treatment room and into real community impact.Exclusively for men, the spa offers one of the most comprehensive service menus in the region. “We are exclusive for men and offer a full service menu from massage to skincare and nail care, even laser and electrolysis,” Jimmy said. Clients come for everything from relaxing bodywork and customized facials to advanced grooming, corrective treatments, and long-term hair removal. The commitment to both comfort and results has helped build a loyal following among men seeking expertise, privacy, and a place that truly understands their needs. But what sets Jimmy apart as a business owner is the energy he brings into every aspect of the spa. His passion for men’s wellness, combined with meticulous attention to detail, creates an environment where clients feel both cared for and understood. He has cultivated a team that shares his values — professionalism, respect, and an authentic desire to help men feel confident in their skin.Just as meaningful is his devotion to community. The spa consistently supports local causes, participates in charitable initiatives, and serves as a welcoming space for the LGBTQ+ community and allies. Wilton’s Manor Doggie Daycare, Resort & Spa continues to be a beloved home-away-from-home for the pups of Wilton Manors, and winning Best Dog Groomer reflects just how much trust the community places in their care. “Winning this award means so much to everyone at our dog grooming and pet care team,” said owners Josh Meneses and Alan Aghazadian. “It’s a reflection of the love, patience, and dedication we put into caring for every pet that walks through our doors.” They added that while they work from passion rather than recognition, the honor reminds them that their compassion “is noticed and appreciated.”Located in the heart of Wilton Manors, the facility offers playful indoor and outdoor arenas, size-specific daycare, overnight boarding, and their multi-year award-winning grooming services. For 14 years, Wilton’s Manor has built its reputation as a safe, loving environment where dogs can play, unwind, and look fabulous. “Our caring team treats every dog like family,” they said, offering personalized attention and quality care that pet parents rely on.Their mottos say it all:“Happy Dogs, Loving Care, Wagging Tails.”“Play Hard. Latinos Salud continues to be one of South Florida’s most trusted and forward-thinking HIV-related organizations, and readers once again recognized the agency’s unwavering commitment to community care. Executive Director Stephen Fallon, said the honor carries profound meaning during a challenging year. “We are so honored that the community recognizes how we have stayed true to our principles in this year of tremendous turmoil,” he said. “We have had grants both terminated and sunsetted, but we have not withdrawn or scaled back a single service.” Latinos Salud has expanded its clinical services each year. In addition to its long history of providing HIV testing, STD screenings, vaccinations, and PrEP, the agency’s providers now offer treatment for HIV, hypertension, hepatitis C, diabetes, and more. Their locations are intentionally designed to feel welcoming – bright, spacious, and filled with Pride – offering a refreshing alternative to traditional clinic settings. While HIV prevention and case management remain at the core of the mission, Latinos Salud puts just as much emphasis on joy, connection, and culture. Community members regularly gather for movie nights, kayaking days, plays, bowling, and other free Health & Culture social events. The agency sponsors 100 of these events each year. The organization also supports the next generation of LGBTQ leaders through its Pride Scholarships, nurturing future professionals who will work in health or social services. Perhaps most impressively, they focus on making care truly accessible: appointment scheduling is easy online or by phone, waits are minimal, and all four South Florida locations are open until 9 p.m. nightly, plus half-days on Saturdays.Though the agency primarily markets to the underserved gay Latino community, its doors are open to everyone. Clients never need to be Latino to receive services, and all staff are bilingual. There are no co-pays, and each person who walks in is treated with respect, dignity, and compassion. “More community members discover Latinos Salud through word-of-mouth than through any other means,” he said. “The Readers' Choice Award is like an entire community's word-ofmouth referral.” Latinos Salud will celebrate its 17th Anniversary Gala on March 21 in the Riverview Ballroom at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts – a fitting occasion for a nonprofit that continues to uplift, innovate, and lead.– PIER ANGELOBEST HIV-RELATED NONPROFITLATINOS SALUDWWW.LATINOSSALUD.ORGRUNNER-UP: SUNSERVE Photo courtesy of Latinos SaludBROWARD58 | OUTSFL | YOUR CHOICE AWARDS PRESENTED BY GRIECO FORD OF FORT LAUDERDALE

Few couples have shaped Wilton Manors’ charitable landscape quite like Marc Martorana and City Commissioner Don D’Arminio, and readers honored their extraordinary impact with three awards this year. “Marc and I are both humbled and honored,” they said. Their commitment spans decades. “We have been hosting Charity Events at our home for the last 25-plus or so years for many of our local LGBTQ+ charities. We are grateful that our work over the years resonates with so many of your readers. We sincerely appreciate their support.”Don, now in his third year on the City Commission, has played a visible role in civic progress. “There have been many positive changes to our city,” Marc said. He added their gratitude for “the trust they have placed in Don to help lead the City of Wilton Manors, and move it forward.”What makes the pair stand out is the nature of their commitment. “Unlike many leaders of LGBTQ+ organizations that are hired and paid to do their job for their charity, we have decided 25-plus years ago to step up and give and contribute as regular citizens trying to make a difference in our community,” they said. “We are local activists that do not benefit financially in any way from their charity work.” Over the past 15 years, they have hosted more than a dozen charity events annually, raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for LGBTQ+ organizations. One charity in particular holds deep meaning: The Pet Project for Pets.“It’s near and dear to our hearts, since we have 3 rescue pups — Davey, Ollie and Sally.” Their annual Holiday Party has become a major fundraiser with the first one raising $22,000. “We've hosted an Annual Holiday Party for them ever since,” they said. They also contribute long hours to leadership and civic service. “Plays of Wilton hold a special place in Marc’s heart,” Don said. Marc noted that Don takes his job on the commission very seriously. “Prior to attending a Commission Meeting, Don spends hours reviewing all documentation before voting on any issues.” Before Don’s election, he spent six years on the Planning & Zoning Board, serving as Vice Chair and Chair — experience that now guides his work with developers and land-use decisions.“We also want to thank OutSFL,” they added, grateful for a publication that helps keep the community connected.BEST LOCAL LGBTQ ACTIVISTS: MARC MARTORANA & DON D’ARMINIOBEST POLITICIAN ON WILTON MANORS CITY COMMISSION: DON D’ARMINIOLOCAL CELEBRITY: MARC MARTORANARUNNER-UP FOR LOCAL LGBTQ ACTIVIST: TONY LIMA (CEO OF SUNSERVE)RUNNER-UP FOR LOCAL CELEBRITY: FAYWHAT?!RUNNER-UP FOR POLITICIAN ON WILTON MANORS CITY COMMISSION: CHRIS CAPUTOPhoto courtesy of Marc Martorana & Don D'ArminioBROWARD60 | OUTSFL | YOUR CHOICE AWARDS PRESENTED BY GRIECO FORD OF FORT LAUDERDALE

SunServe continues to be one of South Florida’s most vital lifelines for LGBTQ people, and readers honored the organization with two major recognitions this year: Best Senior Group for their SilverServe program and Best Support Group for their Youth services program. For John Marler, SunServe’s Director of Communications, the acknowledgment goes far beyond celebration. “It’s incredibly meaningful. Being recognized by our community affirms that the life-saving, life-changing work we do every day is making a difference where it’s needed most.”For decades, SunServe has provided direct, client-centered care for some of the most marginalized LGBTQ individuals across South Florida. Their services reach people at every stage of life, but they are especially known for supporting elders, youth, transgender individuals, and those facing economic hardship. From mental health counseling to housing navigation, senior programs, youth leadership groups, and affirming social services, SunServe prioritizes the dignity, security, and emotional wellbeing of every person who walks through their doors. What makes SunServe unique is their willingness — and ability — to serve those who often slip through the cracks. “SunServe stands out because we go where others can’t or won’t — reaching those too often unseen with direct, affirming care and no barriers or judgment,” Marler said. The organization’s clinical team includes highly trained mental health professionals with deep experience in trauma, identity development, crisis intervention, and LGBTQ-specific needs. “Our team’s exceptional clinical expertise allows us to innovate where others cannot,” he added, underscoring the agency’s commitment to meeting people exactly where they are.Senior services remain one of SunServe’s most beloved pillars. Through community meals, social gatherings, educational workshops, and wellness programs, LGBTQ seniors — many of whom lack family support — find connection, joy, and community. Support groups across all ages and identities help individuals process grief, navigate transition, build confidence, and foster resilience. These programs don’t just change lives; many times, they save them.“Every day, we see lives transform through compassion and connection,” Marler said. “No one serves as many people — or does this work as effectively — as SunServe. This recognition belongs to everyone who helps make South Florida a place where LGBTQ+ people can truly thrive.”BEST SENIOR GROUP & BEST SUPPORT GROUPSUNSERVESUNSERVE.ORGRUNNER-UP: DUDES BARBER SHOPPhoto by Steven T. BROWARDJ WolfPaX and The Wolf Den were created from a simple truth: healing happens in community. Blending science, story, and heart, the work focuses on bringing recovery, connection, and belonging directly into the spaces that need it most. “[This award is] a reflection of community and of people who believe in what we’re building,” she said. “To be recognized by my own community … reminds me that when we lead with purpose and serve with heart, we don’t just grow a brand, we help others rise with us.”Built on the belief that “healing is not a solo act,” the Wolf Den helps teams, communities, and individuals strengthen resilience from the inside out. The secret ingredient for making Twist South Beach a memorable nightclub was simple for its founders: make it a place they would enjoy themselves. “[We wanted it] to be a place that would be friendly first, but still sexy at the same time,” owner Joel Stedman said. “We expanded over the years, growing bigger and better.”Twist, which opened in 1993, has a commanding presence in the South Florida nightclub scene. It features seven bars, three dance floors, world-class DJ’s and outdoor gardens. BEST DRAG ACTIVIST, LOCAL ENTERTAINER, DRAG PERFORMER, ADVOCATE FOR THE TRANSGENDER COMMUNITY AND LOCAL CELEBRITYMELISSA ST. JOHNMELISSASTJOHN.COMPALM BEACHPhoto by Kyle WillisAs one of the most heralded female illusionists of her generation, Melissa St. John is recognized as the gold standard when it comes to the art of drag. But beyond the footlights, OutSFL’s Queen of Queens is a fierce LGBTQ defender and ordained minister. In many circles, she is heralded as the voice of the people no matter skin color, nationality, orientation or religion. St. John follows in the footsteps of her great-grandfather, Will Coleman, who was the President of the NAACP and Deacon in his church in Andalusia, Alabama. Coleman proudly marched for civil rights with the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. By embracing both Coleman’s and King’s teachings to serve others, St. John has repeatedly demonstrated her commitment to LGBTQ activism and volunteerism. She was recently honored by Equality Florida with the organization’s Voice for Equality Award that recognizes those who, with courage and passion, advance the LGBTQ community. In the 2025 OutSFL Magazine’s Reader’s Choice Awards contest, St. John swept five Palm Beach County categories including Best Drag Activist, Best Local Entertainer, Best Drag Performer, Best Advocate for the Transgender Community and Best Local Celebrity. “I am at a loss for words. To be honored by OUTSFL and the publication’s readers in this way is truly humbling,” St. John said. When asked what makes her special, St. John thought a moment before delivering one of her signature quips: “You mean other than my drag closet? Now, Marsha P. Johnson, she was special. Actually, I take that back, she was extraordinary.” St. John is referring to one of the leaders of the modern gay rights movement who was on the frontlines of the Stonewall riots in 1969. “I was just fortunate enough to be born into a family that believed in standing up for equality for all people. I was raised to give back to those in need,” St. John said.St. John has been performing for more than 40 years. She is also the Entertainment Director for H.G. Rooster’s in West Palm Beach as well as being an integral part of the team at the floral art and special events company Austintatious Designs. “At heart, I am an entertainer. As long as I can still put on my eyelashes and remember the words to the songs I perform, I’ll be on stage,” St. John said.– ROBERT COLE80 | OUTSFL | YOUR CHOICE AWARDS PRESENTED BY GRIECO FORD OF FORT LAUDERDALE

YOUR CHOICE AWARDS PRESENTED BY GRIECO FORD OF FORT LAUDERDALE | OUTSFL | 87Have you been to the other Orlando? The city has an i n t e r e s t i n g , walkable downtown, including the fabulous Lake Eola Park and the hipster Ivanhoe neighborhood just north of downtown. It also has a lively nightlife scene.WHAT TO DOHead out to the Savoy Orlando, the LGBTQ+ bar that features something every night. Saturday night featured dancers as well as a drag show followed by dancing on the dance floor. The outdoor patio was nice, although they allow smoking. The drinks were reasonably priced, and the bartenders were perky. Next door, you will find the Ivanhoe 1915, another lively LGBTQ bar. Have dinner first at one of the restaurants in this hipster hangout, aka the Ivanhoe neighborhood. It’s just 1.5 miles north of downtown. Explore Lake Eola Park downtown which features a trail around it, swans from around the world, boat rentals, a beautiful fountain in the lake. You will find a slew of excellent restaurants and bars south of the park. I liked the Eola Wine Company. They have a farmers’ market on the south side of the park on Sundays. Take the new Brightline train to Fort Lauderdale or Miami. The new train now goes to Orlando airport. GETTING THEREI got a great fare and had a great flight on Southwest. The airport is served by Bus #11 which will take you downtown for just $2, and it takes about the same amount of time as a UBER or LYFT. Downtown (and nearby Ivanhoe area) is very walkable, so you won’t need a car. Bring your bike helmet and enjoy the bike sharing system.WHERE TO STAYI stayed at the new Home2Suites by Hilton downtown (in the arts district). You get a full kitchen and separate sleeping area. It’s easy to eat in your room if you choose to do so, although there is a fast casual Mediterranean place across the street and several good restaurants nearby. You will find the Home2Suites at 401 N. Magnolia. It’s close to Eola Park and the Publix Market nearby has great ready-to-eat salad and hot bar items – not to mention their deli sandwiches. I love this Florida-based grocery chain. Be on the lookout for Florida strawberries, as well as other tropical fruits you won’t find at home. You will find Publix at 400 E. Central just south of Eola Park. INSIDER TIPSWatermark is the online LGBTQ publication which also prints special editions. It’s full of LGBTQ ideas and events. Orlando Weekly is the city’s weekly paper.Plan on adding downtown Orlando to your itinerary. You can take the new Brightline high speed rail from Miami and Fort Lauderdale right to Orlando airport if you want to add other Florida cities to your visit. With great weather year round (and being far enough inland to escape most severe hurricane damage), this Florida megacity really shines. And it is very LGBTQ-friendly. BY BILL MALCOLM

Big LGBT ocean cruises can be a blast – there are tons of hot people to get to know biblically, big, all-night dance parties, and an endless array of activities onboard. But as we age, those cruises can begin to hold less allure. Maybe you’ve outgrown the “notches in the bedpost” routine, or it’s getting harder to dance all night in your underwear and then get up at 7am to take an all-day excursion into Rome. Both experiences – big-ship and small-ship – have incredible experiences to offer. It really depends on what you’re looking for in a vacation.WHAT IS THE BIG-SHIP LGBT+ OCEAN CRUISE EXPERIENCE LIKE?The Pro’s:•Tons of people to meet•Lots of onboard amenities•Great theme parties •Great entertainment•Lots of categories of cabins to choose fromThe Con’s:•You may never run into that great guy you met on day one again•Lines for everything, from the buffet to the bathroom•Escaping the crowds can be daunting•You may hear the music from the deck parties in your cabin while you’re trying to sleep•Since big ships can only dock at big ports, there can be long bus rides from the port to the city you’re visiting (this isn’t exclusive to big ships; occasionally, small-ship cruises can also have this issue)•Seasickness can be an issue for some, although the stabilizers on the newest ships have minimized this WHAT IS THE SMALL OCEAN SHIP OR RIVER CRUISE EXPERIENCE LIKE?The Pro’s:•The atmosphere/décor/food can be much more luxe •You can get to know many of the people on your ship, since the number of guests ranges from about 60 (for exotic cruises, like in Asia, India, Egypt, etc) to 150 (for European river cruises and luxury superyacht ocean cruises)•No lines•Ships are more easily navigable, since they’re much smaller•Great entertainment (albeit often in a lounge as opposed to a theatre)The Con’s:•Less onboard amenities (most ships offer a gym and spa, but you won’t get a casino or water park)•If you’re super shy, it can be harder to get “lost in the crowd” (however, the guests traveling with companies like Brand g Vacations, the luxury all-LGBT+ tour operator, tend to be very friendly and welcoming)•Fewer categories of rooms. Although luxury superyacht cruises have 8-10 categories to choose from, river cruises typically only have three or four (although all rooms are oceanview or balcony – there are no inside rooms).•The price is higher - cruises for 4,000 have economy of scale – so you pay more for the exclusivity.Pricing•Big-ship LGBT+ companies: generally, everything is a la carte: shore excursions, cocktails, specialty dining, airport transfers, etc. •Small-ship LGBT+ companies: High-end companies like Brand g make their fares virtually all-inclusive - shore excursions, adult beverages, airport transfers, all dining, wifi, special Brand g experiences, etc. What kind of cruise is best for you? There’s only one way to find out: try them!WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BIG-SHIPAND SMALL-SHIP LGBT+ CRUISE COMPANIES?

90 | OUTSFL | YOUR CHOICE AWARDS PRESENTED BY GRIECO FORD OF FORT LAUDERDALEAt the time of this writing, the winter holidays are just a few short months away. What follows are essential gift-giving suggestions for almost every music lover in your life, especially those who appreciate new and special reissues by their favorite artists. We gays already loved Joni Mitchell to the moon and back, but her appearance onstage at the Hollywood Bowl with Cyndi Lauper for the latter’s final date on her farewell tour not only cemented her status but probably also earned her legions of new fans. Those existing and new fans would be wise to listen to the newly re-released in audiophile quality Original Master Recording edition of Mitchell’s 1976 masterpiece “Hejira” (Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab/Asylum). Available as an UltraDisc One-Step 180g 45RPM SuperVinyl 2LP Box Set as well as a Super Audio CD, the groundbreaking recording still sounds as breathtaking as it did when it was first released nearly 50 years ago. From immediately accessible classics such as “Black Crow” and “Coyote” to deeply personal epics including the title tune, “Song For Sharon,” “Refuge of the Roads,” and “Amelia,” listeners will have “no regrets.” With the new 13-disc David Bowie box set “I Can’t Give Everything Away [2002-2016]” (ISO/Parlophone), which includes four late-career studio albums, two EPs, two live albums, and the latest installment in the “Re:Call” compilation series, fans of the late musical genius should be all caught up with his prodigious output. Stunningly packaged and including a 128-page book, this set is particularly poignant, as it includes bisexual Bowie’s final full-length album, “★ (Blackstar).” Spanning from 2002’s “Heathen,” Bowie’s first album of the 21st century, and its 2003 follow-up “Reality” (featuring covers of Jonathan Richman’s “Pablo Picasso” and George Harrison’s “Try Some, Buy Some”) through “The Next Day,” Bowie’s return after a 10-year hiatus, containing the Grammy-nominated song “The Stars (Are Out Tonight),” and 2016’s “★,” released two days before his untimely passing. Imagine being The Who in 1978. By that time, the Beatles had been broken up for eight years. The Kinks were still rocking out. To remain as current as possible in 1978, The Rolling Stones hit it big with an undeniable disco track (and massive hit) “Miss You” from its “Some Girls” album. All four members of The Who had already released solo albums by this point, so who can blame RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER BY GREGG SHAPIROqTunes

Thank You!VOTED BEST GROUPFOR TRANSGENDER PEOPLEName & Gender Marker Change AssistanceID UpdatesMental Health Referralswww.TransSocial.org 305-747-3156 @transsocialMedical ReferralsPeer Support GroupsSocial EventsTLGBQ+ Sensitivity Trainingthe band members, ranging in age from 32 to 34, for wanting to remain relevant more than 10 years after the release of its debut (and breakthrough) album. Originally released in August 1978 (a month before drummer Keith Moon died due to a drug overdose), “Who Are You” (Polydor) has been reissued in an expanded edition, including a double disc set featuring an additional dozen tracks of “sessions, demos, & mixes.” Despite its name, there’s nothing particularly disco about the album’s song “Sister Disco.” In fact, it’s the hit single title track that comes closest to qualifying as a dance number. “Love Is Coming Down” is a moving and surprisingly lush ballad, while “Had Enough” is pure Who. If you’re wondering what’s queer about The Who, let’s begin with Pete Townshend, who came out as bisexual in interviews as well as in his memoir. While straight, few other men in rock bands looked like Roger Daltrey, especially not in the late 1960s through the 1970s, when he had a gym body, and performed shirtless, putting his pecs and abs on full display, and earning a gay following in the process. Let’s also not forget The Who’s groundbreaking 1969 rock opera “Tommy,” which was not only made into a movie in 1975 by Ken Russell (starring Elton John as the Pinball Wizard) but also turned into a Tony Award-winning 1993 Broadway musical. Long out of print (some might even call it an eternity), the 1973 Polygram Records debut album by Buckingham Nicks, a duo consisting of Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks, released before they joined Fleetwood Mac, has finally been reissued on vinyl, as well as debuting on CD, from Rhino Records. Featuring the stunning original album artwork, in addition to a nod to the Polygram label, all ten original songs are represented, “sourced from the original analog master tapes.” If you’ve never heard it before, for the most part the album sounds remarkably timeless, featuring Buckingham’s trademark guitar work, as in the case of “Don’t Let Me Down Again,” “Without A Leg To Stand On,” “Long Distance Winner,” and the instrumental “Stephanie.” Naturally,

YOUR CHOICE AWARDS PRESENTED BY GRIECO FORD OF FORT LAUDERDALE | OUTSFL | 93there’s Nicks’ lead vocals, heard on “Crying In The Night,” “Long Distance Winner,” “Races Are Run,” and, of course, “Crystal” (which would later appear on the eponymous 1975 Fleetwood Mac album after Nicks and Buckingham became band members), and they are everything we love about her. A musical time capsule that is even more relevant now than it was when it was initially released more than 50 years ago. Contemporary stage musicals continue to evolve, not just sonically, but also in the subject matters they explore. Available on purple vinyl, the remixed and remastered 15th anniversary double LP edition of Next To Normal: Original Broadway Cast Recording (Ghostlight) is a perfect example. The musical is about Diana (Alice Ripley), a bipolar, suburban mother who never got over the death of her infant son and imagines him alive as a teenager. Naturally, this not only has a debilitating impact on her life, but also on that of her husband and daughter. With book and lyrics by gay playwright Brian Yorkey, and direction by gay director Michael Greif, “Next To Normal” won three Tony Awards, including Best Actress in a Musical for Ripley, as well as the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. By the time The Pretenders, led by Chrissie Hynde, burst onto the scene with its trailblazing 1979/1980 eponymous debut album, we’d already witnessed the firepower of female vocalists leading punk bands in the form of Patti Smith, Debbie Harry, Poly Styrene, Ari Up, Siouxsie Sioux, Poison Ivy, Lydia Lunch, and others. However, no one was prepared for what Hynde and her male band members were going to achieve, including having a massive state-side hit single with “Brass In Pocket.” The Pretenders’ newly remastered and repackaged 16-track 1987 compilation “The Singles” (Parlophone/Real/Warner), available on CD and double LP vinyl, improves on the original in new ways. In addition to being presented as a snazzy gatefold (in both formats), the back cover lists the songs followed by the years in which they were released, spanning 1979 (“Stop Your Sobbing,” “Kid,” and “Brass In Pocket”) through 1986 (“Don’t Get Me Wrong,” “Hymn To Her,” and “My Baby”). A must-have!Would a band such as The Cranberries, featuring the late lead vocalist Dolores O’Riordan, exist without the Pretenders and the groundwork laid by Chrissie Hynde? Regardless, when the Irish quartet released its 1993 debut album, “Everybody Else Is Doing It, Why Can’t We?,” containing the massive hit singles “Linger” and “Dreams,” one thing was certain: no one had ever heard a voice quite like O’Riordan’s. The combination of her distinctive lilt and phrasing with band’s modern rock ethic was as sweet as it was tart (see what I did there?). To mark the 30th anniversary of The Cranberries’ second album, “No Need to Argue” (Island/UMe), featuring the huge hit single “Zombie” and “Ode To My Family,” it is being reissued in various formats. The double LP set includes the newly remastered original album with the addition of new remixes by Iain Cook, a demo, and live recordings. The album cover is also a variation on the original, including a new message along the bottom, reading “We miss and will always love you Dolores!” Almost 30 years before Destiny’s Child released its debut album, there was the sunshine pop band Eternity’s Children. Sunshine Pop, exemplified by the 5th Dimension, the Mamas & the Papas, and the Association, has a strong connection to California; however, the mixed gender quartet known as Eternity’s Children were from Cleveland. Mississippi, that is. Regardless of being from a landlocked town in the deep South, Eternity’s Children had a knack for creating a sound that had little to do with geography, as you can hear on the band’s eponymous debut and second album, “Timeless,” both reissued on vinyl for the first time since the late 1960s by High Moon Records. Coproduced by Keith Olsen (who also produced the Buckingham Nicks album!), the self-titled first album is simply exquisite, with heartwarming harmonies and subtle psychedelic flourishes, there’s not a misstep on the record, with standouts including “Rupert White,” “Again Again,” “Lifetime Day,” the beautiful bossa nova of “My Happiness Day,” the soaring “Mrs. Bluebird,” and the radiant “Sunshine Among Us.” Eternity’s Children avoided the sophomore slump by moving in a groovy direction on “Timeless” (kudos to High Moon for the Capitol nod), featuring the highlights “Christina In My Dreams,” “I Wanna Be With You,” “Look Away,” “Sunshine and Flowers,” and “The Thinking Animal.”

My favorites include the 24 oz. frozen food package of Bibigo Mandu Pork & Vegetable Dumplings. These extra-large restaurant-quality dumplings are filled with savory pork mixed with cabbage, leek, onion, and green onion, thinly wrapped for bold flavor, pan-fry in just eight minutes for a crispy treat, or steam (or microwave under a damp paper towel) for a silky texture. Nearly 30 years ago, when jeans were baggy and music videos still mattered, the Toyota RAV4 burst onto the scene looking like looking as if it had just come back from a gap year in Patagonia. It was a three-door oddball on a car chassis, trying to look as if it wrestled bears on weekends. Back then, SUVs were truckbased brutes that smelled of mud and testosterone. The RAV4? It ordered a soy latte and wore fleece.Fast-forward to 2026, and the little rebel has become the establishment. Today’s SUVs all follow its formula: car platform, unibody construction, a hint of off-road capability, and absolutely no risk of getting your boots dirty. The Jeep Wrangler and Ford Bronco are now the outliers, while the Toyota RAV4 is the norm. The redesigned 206 Toyota RAV4 is now hybrid-only, with a plug-in option for those who want to feel eco-conscious while wearing hiking boots to brunch. The hybrid generates 226 horsepower through the front wheels, or 236 if you insist on allwheel drive. The plug-in hybrid ups that to 324 horsepower and offers 52 electric-only miles, enough to power a daily commute without ever firing a piston. There are three flavors, each with a different nose job. The Woodland trim looks adventurous but is mostly cosmetic, perfect for an Instagram influencer who pretends they just returned from a mountain expedition. The GR Sport, from Toyota’s Gazoo Racing division, is about as racy as a Peloton class. The rest are the mainstream trims you’re familiar with. So, how does it drive? Predictable. It’s not thrilling, but that’s why you’ll buy it. The steering is light, the brakes are strong, and the suspension is just right for dodging life’s general chaos. Even in the GR Sport, there’s some body lean through corners because, let’s face it, this is not the car to make you feel like a professional rally driver. What it is though, is reliable, responsible, and only pretending to be wild. This is a car that doesn’t demand attention, and that’s its charm.Inside, you’ll find it’s surprisingly accommodating. Toyota has lowered the instrument panel, improving visibility. The seats are wide and flat, with just enough bolstering to hold you in place without making you feel as if you’re riding in an Uber. And the center console? It’s got a  dual-hinged lid  because sometimes you want the flexibility of swinging both ways. There’s a USB-C port for every occasion, wireless phone charging for when you’re too busy to plug in, and a 10.5-inch infotainment screen that you won’t want to smash with your fists because it works perfectly every time. You’ll never love the 2026 Toyota RAV4 the way you loved your Mazda Miata or your leaky old Jeep Wrangler. But when it’s raining sideways, traffic’s a mess, and the world’s on fire, the Toyota RAV4 quietly gets you home. It’s not thrilling. It’s not sexy. But it never lets you down. And in 2026, that’s about as good as it gets.THE SUV FOR PEOPLE WHO DON’T ACTUALLY LIKE SUVSYOUR CHOICE AWARDS PRESENTED BY GRIECO FORD OF FORT LAUDERDALE | OUTSFL | 99
