Script (updated)

INT. GARRY'S APARTMENT. MORNING (8:30AM)

GARRY wakes up with a hangover, has a headache and someone is
pounding on the door. GARRY is wearing a t-shirt with jeans
that has rips in the legs. GARRY slowly opens his eyes
thinking it is a dream. GARRY looks around the apartment,
rubbish on the floor, empty beer cans and bits of weed on the
table next to the sofa GARRY is on. GANG MEMBER 1 is bashing
on the door with a fist while GANG MEMBER 2 is holding a
metal baseball bat and GANG MEMBER 3 is looking out for
anyone trying to stop them.

GANG MEMBER 1
Open up, where's the fucking money!

GARRY looks at the door looking puzzled of why someone is at
the door. GANG MEMBER 1 moves out of the way for GANG MEMBER
3 to start attacking the door with the baseball bat.

GARRY
What, money? Ow my head, it hurts.

GARRY then comes to the realisation that the people at the
door are the gang that he owes money to, and it is not a
dream, he realises this as GANG MEMBER 3 makes a hole in the
door with the baseball bat.

GANG MEMBER 3
Open the door! Or we will break your
legs when we do get in there!

GARRY

Shit!

GARRY gets up from the sofa panicking, the door breaks down
in to pieces and the gang members rush in with GANG MEMBER 3
being the first in followed by the other two, GANG MEMBER 2
finds and grabs GARRY by the neck.

GANG MEMBER 2
You piece of shit, wheres the money!?

GARRY tries to speak but keeps getting slapped.

GARRY
I...I...I...I do not have the money!

GANG MEMBERS get pissed and start to beat GARRY. GANG MEMBER
3 uses the bat to knock GARRY to the ground, while the other
two start to kick him while he is down. A loud voice comes
form just outside the broken down door.

GANG BOSS (TOM)
(loud, with confidence)
That's enough!

The GANG MEMBERS back off from GARRY and TOM storms in. TOM
is wearing a formal suit, black jacket, white shirt, black
trousers with a red tie. TOM is also smoking a cigar. TOM
kneels down to look GARRY in the face while GARRY is on the
floor with multiple cuts and bruises and bleeding.

TOM
No money, still no money. After giving
multiple extensions to get the money
on time, you still do not have the
money we want.

TOM stands up and looks down on GARRY.

TOM
You are pathetic.

TOM pulls a gun and GARRY panics more. GARRY thinks up of a
lie to buy some time.

GARRY
I still can get the money, I am
getting paid later today that will
give me just over £1,000, you only
need £750, right?

While these GARRY and TOM talk, the GANG MEMBER start to
break the furniture in the apartment. GANG MEMBER 1 flips the
table, GANG MEMBER 2 smashes the TV and GANG MEMBER 3 goes in
to the bedroom to smash things with the baseball bat, Sound
can be heard throughout conversation.

TOM
Yeah sure, but you have been late too
many times. So you know what, give
£1,000, tomorrow morning. We will come
back, if you run, do not have the
money or pull any stupid trick,
tomorrow will be the last day you
live.

TOM put the gun away and turns to GANG MEMBER 1 who started
to raid the fridge, while GANG MEMBER 2 breaks stuff in the
kitchen.

TOM
Come on. There's no need to torture

and the cops will be coming soon.

TOM causally walks out while GANG MEMBER 2 runs out of the
kitchen with GANG MEMBER 1 following behind with a pork pie
in his mouth and holding a small bottle of milk. GANG MEMBER
3 runs out of the bedroom and groups up with he other two
GANG MEMBERS leaving a mess and GARRY bleeding on the floor,
GARRY slowly gets up.

GARRY
How the fuck I am going to get £1,000?
I need start shitting gold to pay them
back.

GARRY goes to the bathroom and grabs some tissue to rap the
cuts and wounds while thinking of ways to get the money
together by tomorrow.

INT. GARRY'S APARTMENT. MORNING (10:30AM)

GARRY is still in his apartment rapping tissue around his
cuts and wounds while sat on the sofa. He is staring at a
wall thinking of solutions to his problem, while holding a
pen in one hand and a piece of paper on the table he picked
up that now has a crack in it.

GARRY
(speaking to himself)
What to do? Run? No, they will kill me
for that. Garage sale? No, everything
is damaged or broken, and i do not
have a garage.

GARRY taps the pen on the table and then sighs as the phones
rings and notices that it is FRED. GARRY is happy to see the
picture of FRED, but a bit nervous, he still answers the
call.

EXT. COLLEGE GROUNDS. MORNING (10:30AM)

FRED is outside near one of the entrances to inside the
college. There is a small patch of grass that runs down the
college. FRED is wearing a coat with black jeans.

FRED
(frustrated)
Where are you? Your not in your
drinking corner. You have missed the

all your lessons. Are you drunk, high
or both?

GARRY
(speaking nervously)
No, itssss... nothing. Jussst drunk.

FRED sighs in disappointment, with hand on face. After a few
seconds he responds to GARRY

FRED
The blood gang came, they wanted their
money.

GARRY gulps and is more worried because FRED knows what is
wrong, he sounds a bit worried about GARRY's safety.

GARRY is quiet, he then gets a bit of a stutter while
responding to FRED

GARRY
(Quietly and stirrers at the
beginning)
Y...Yee...Yesss. They came, wrecked up
the place and demanded the money now.
Wait how did you know.

FRED starts to walk to a more quiet place as groups of people
start to walk towards FRED

FRED
Well you needed money and at first you
where trying to rob from me. Then you
must have went to the blood gang, they
have multiple loan sharks and
something stupid you would do. (takes
a deep breath) So I guess they broke
your legs, it would explain why you
are not here.

GARRY
No, they told me to get the money by
tomorrow or I am dead meat.

FRED is in shock and drops phone. Some people walking into
the college look at him. He picks up his phone and carries on
the conversion with major concern about GARRY.

GARRY
FRED, I do not know what to do, I

GARRY stops mid-sentence, FRED is feeling uneasy about the
silence.

FRED
What is it? Please tell me you have a
plan.

GARRY is looking happy and screams into the phone.

GARRY
(Yelling)
The Death House, that has treasure!
That has to be worth at least, hmm,
£1,000!

FRED shakes head and looks more concerned about GARRY, while
GARRY is thinking about how much the treasure could be worth

FRED
(Loud at first)
NO! NO! NO! NO! It is a rumour, A
RUMOUR! They is lots of better and
more reliable solutions to this
problem, the so called "treasure" is
the worst idea you have every come up
with. This beats the time you tried to
open your safe up with fireworks, even
though the code was glued to the
bottom.

GARRY is looking quite confident with the idea.

GARRY
(He pauses to think for a second
while speaking)
It is the best idea, nobody I know
does not have that sort of money. It
is my only choice...I will be in
tomorrow if I get the treasure, if
not... well, I guess you would have to
worry about me.

GARRY hangs up the phone and FRED is not pleased with the
event that unfolded. FRED thinks of what to do. FRED then
gets off and tries to find someone else that knows GARRY.
GARRY starts to prepare for the trip to the Death House.

INT. COLLEGE CORRIDOR. NEAR LOCKERS. MORNING (10:37AM)

FRED finds GARRY'S girlfriend, EMILY, she is putting books in
to her locker and preparing for the next lesson, Law.

FRED

EMILY!

EMILY spins her head and looks confused as she looks at FRED,
She looks at him, but begins to turn and walk away. Another
person (KELLY) overhears the conversation while being far
down the corridor.

EMILY
Sorry. I have no idea who you are.
Creep.

FRED looks around and sees nearly no one.

FRED
GARRY is in trouble, he's going to the
death house.

EMILY drops her books and turns to FRED, in shock.

EMILY
GARRY BUCKHAM? Please tell me it is
not him in trouble, but another GARRY
you know.

FRED takes a deep breath

FRED
I am afraid that is the GARRY I am
talking about.

EMILY punches the lockers out of frustration.

EMILY
Fuck! Who are you? And what is a
matter with GARRY, drunk, high or
both.

EMILY sighs and looks up and then down at the ground

EMILY
(Whispers)
Most likely both.

FRED shakes his head

FRED
First, I am FRED a friend of GARRY'S
and second, I wish he was just high
but he owes money to the blood gang
and thinks the rumoured "treasure" is
real.

EMILY looks a little surprised at first, but reacts in way
where she knew something like this would happen

EMILY
GARRY was always taking money from me.
I guess this is why. But, the rumoured
"treasure", it is just rumoured. How
could he believe it?

FRED blinks

FRED
Well, if you do know him, he wasn't
always the sharpest tool in the box.

EMILY sighs

EMILY
We can't just let the poor guy die we
have to do something do something...

As EMILY speaks, another person (ARRON) walks by and
overhears the conversation and responds.

ARRON
So that dipstick has gotten into a
dumb situation. Let me guess, he owes
money to some gang for overdue debts
because of drugs and is going to do
something stupid that could kill him.

Both FRED and EMILY look at ARRON with confusion

ARRON
(Calm)
Sorry for being rude, should not have
interfered your conversion before
introducing myself, the names ARRON
and I knew GARRY, before he stole
piles and piles of money from me.

Both FRED and EMILY nod their heads in agreement, knowing
that GARRY stole off of them in the same way for the same
reason.

FRED
Look, I want to help him, he is not a
bad person, just dumb. Would you help
us convince him to try another
solution to his problem.

EMILY
Remember he may need more people to
talk to before he listens.

ARRON takes a deep breath with both eyes closed and looks up,
he then looks back it them.

ARRON
Fine! I may hate the guy, but I do not
wish for him to go die. He also owes
me bit of money. The bastard.

ARRON, EMILY and FRED all walk off and ignore the bell going
off, but someone had bean listening to the conversation all
the time. A woman called KELLY, hiding behind a wall about
the time ARRON stated speaking.

KELLY
(To herself)
This sounds more interesting then
English.

FRED speaks up while quickly walking with EMILY and ARRON

FRED
I have a car we all can get in, I just
need to know the location of the Death
House.

ARRON looks at FRED

ARRON
I remember where it is, me and GARRY
would go up tier when we were younger
and dare each other to go in.

KELLY soon follows behind them, keeping out of sight. ARRON,
EMILY and FRED go to the car park to get in FRED's car.

EXT. OUTSIDE DEATH HOUSE. MORNING (11:07AM)

FRED drives up in his car to the Death House with EMILY and
ARRON in the backseats. They stop near a tall pine tree that
is close to the death house. EMILY, FRED and ARRON get out of
FRED's car. The group then take a long look at the Death

House. FRED looks a bit scared, EMILY looks back at the
direction they just came from and is thinking about turning
back. ARRON looks at the house and thinks of the time when he
was a kid with GARRY daring each other to go in.

The house is an old, run down mansion that has been left for
quite some time. The location is isolated from the rest of
the town and the only link to the town is a small dirt road
that FRED just drove up. The house is surrounded by tall pine
trees at the back, one of the trees have fell down on the
roof and making small cracks in the roof but covering most of
the top of the mansion.

The mansion has three floors with a balcony that has the left
side starting to break off, they is lots of little cracks in
the walls coming where the widows are.

The double front door to the mansion open and a small beam of
light shines through the darkness but you still can't make
out much that is in the mansion.

FRED, ARRON and EMILY all turn and look at each other, all
looking uncomfortable.

ARRON
This place looks creeper the last time
I was here with GARRY. Why does he
think this is the best idea.

EMILY
Well if you know GARRY, then doing the
most stupid thing is normal to him

FRED almost laughs to agree, but does not do to feeling
uneasy about facing the Death House

FRED
Hopefully we can talk some sense into
him, maybe there's another option he
can take?

EMILY looks back at the dirt road that FRED just drove up
again.

FRED
You're not backing out now, are you?

EMILY looks back at FRED and then pulls out her phone.

EMILY
(Defensive)
No! I just wondering where GARRY is.
Wait! Is he already in the house?

ARRON looks at the entrance of the house

ARRON
I will go in. See whether he is
already in the hou...

FRED interrupts ARRON

FRED
GARRY is coming up here now.

They all look back at the dirt road and see GARRY riding up
on a bike. GARRY notices FRED, EMILY and ARRON.

GARRY
What the hell are doing you doing
here!?

In mid-sentence, GARRY falls off of his bike, tumbling to the
ground. EMILY laughs.

ARRON
(To himself)
He really is stupid, how was I friends
with this dochebag.

GARRY gets up and picks up his bike, he then puts it against
the tree that the car is near. GARRY then turns around to
talk to FRED, EMILY and ARRON.

GARRY
If you're here to talk me out of this,
then you all wasted your time, go home
this is my problem, not yours.

ARRON looks little surprised.

ARRON
Well, looks like our job is done,
who's hungry?

FRED slaps ARRON on the back of the head

EMILY
(Yelling)
What!? No!

FRED
No! GARRY! This has to be the stupids
idea you have come up with. Can't you
be normal and use a money loaning...

GARRY runs past ignoring what FRED said and pushing past
ARRON running to the double front door.

FRED
(Yelling)
GARRY, you fucking idiot! Come on, we
need to stop him, the house could be
fall apart in the inside just like the
outside.

EMILY and FRED do not hesitate to go in the Death House.
ARRON notices a half smoked cigar on the floor, he then
slowly follows behind and looks inside before rushing in.
ARRON is looking scared as he goes in.

ARRON
(Moaning, to himself)
I just want to go to McDonalds. I am
hungry.

Kelly moved behind FRED's car in time to see ARRON slowly
walk into the house, KELLY is tired due to running all the
way and stops, hands on knees, to catch her breath.

KELLY
(Talking to herself while panting)
So they either brave or dumb to enter
a place like that.

KELLY waits a little longer before going in to the house, she
then scouts out the house to look for other entrances by
looking through the boarded up windows.

INT. DEATH HOUSE. LATE MORNING. (11:11AM)

EMILY and FRED catch up to GARRY who is looking around the
first part of the mansion. The first part is a big room with
stairs in the middle with the wood of the stairs starting to
rot. The downstairs has two doors at each side room and
another door in the corner next to the stairs. The upstairs
has another big double door just after the stairs, with more
doors on the floor, same as down stairs two doors at the
side. There is a few bits of furniture that is broken down
due to the rot and a broken pot in one of the corners,
looking like the table could not hold the weight of the pot.

some of the walls. As GARRY looks at each door trying to
decide of where to start and FRED and EMILY stare at the
mansion inside and at the small details. ARRON walks in
through the front door.

ARRON
What a dump.

EMILY and FRED look back at the entrance to see ARRON stood
by the frame of the front door.

EMILY
I didn't think you wanted to come.

FRED
EMILY, we are going to need help
looking in this place. If nothing is
going to talk him out of this, then we
might as help. Who knows, the
"treasure" might be real, I hope.

EMILY looks back at FRED and sighs, ARRON looks at GARRY
trying to decide what door to go in.

ARRON
Fine. I will help, if I am honest, I
came here to see if the "treasure" is
real.

ARRON turns to GARRY and shouts "GARRY". GARRY then turns and
walks quick towards the group.

GARRY
What? I am trying to think of what
door to start with.

FRED
This door.

FRED points at the door downstairs to the left near the
entrance.

GARRY
Why that door? It looks mostly rotten.

FRED 'face-palms'

EMILY
Well for one, you have not chosen
yourself. Thank god. And two, there is
a lot of rotten and gross looking

doors which do not look any better.

GARRY
Can't we spilt up to find the treasure

EMILY turns to GARRY with disapproval

EMILY
No! We need to work out where we have
been to avoid looking in the same
place more than once and to get out of
here as soon as possible. I feel like
something going to jump out at me and
start stabbing me.

FRED and ARRON nod their head in agreement.

GARRY
Ok. That door then.

ARRON then looks at EMILY while GARRY goes to open the door.

ARRON
What's matter, scared?

EMILY turns her head towards ARRON.

EMILY
(Sardonically, stirrers at the end)
Call me stupid, but I hear that this
house is...is... hauntttted.

ARRON laughs

ARRON
Ghosts aren't real, you dumb...

ARRON is interrupted by the front door slamming followed by a
laugh. the only light source is gone. EMILY screams and runs
straight for the door.

EMILY
Fuck this shit!

EMILY finds the door handles to the door, but the door is
locked.

EMILY
I told you ARRON! This place is
fucking haunted!

GARRY panics, he starts breathing heavily.

GARRY
Nobody told me that me that detail.
That would have been nice to know.

FRED and ARRON look a bit scared, but they are willing to go
further into the house.

ARRON
Detail to know, are buying this
luxurious mansion. I manage its cheap
enough for you.

FRED hears footsteps and gets out his phone and uses it like
a flashlight, FRED gets a quick look of a person (KELLY)
running into through one of the doors, which breaks due to
the amount of rot.

FRED
It's not a ghost, it's probably just
someone trying to scare us. I saw
their feet.

ARRON, GARRY and EMILY calm down.

EMILY
Even if someone is playing a prank, I
still do not want to be here.

GARRY looks over at EMILY.

GARRY
I do not want to be here if I am being
honest, but I need to try to find the
treasure.

GARRY then tries to push the door open that FRED said to go
through, but upon pushing on the door, it crumbles apart,
GARRY, FRED, ARRON, and EMILY step over the door and go in
the corridor.

INT. DEATH HOUSE. BOTTOM LEFT CORRIDOR. LATE MORNING
(11:17AM)

GARRY is in front while ARRON, EMILY and FRED follow.

The corridor is long and turns at the end. There are two
entrances to the left, leading to two other rooms; the first
one has a door that is the least rotted looking in the
mansion so far. The second one has no door, with windows to
the left that have been boarded up with wooden planks that
look new. The planks block most of the light with only a few
beams come through. The light beams highlight a thick dust
cloud. GARRY goes in the the first room opening the door
slowly. FRED, ARRON and EMILY follow closely behind.

ARRON
Anything in here? GARRY?

GARRY
NO, just old, rotting furniture.

The door slams behind, scaring all of them. laughter follows.
The sound of someone tripping over can be heard.

KELLY

FUCK!

Everyone is on alert. GARRY opens the door and they see KELLY
on the floor.

GARRY
Why the fuck are you here!?

KELLY looks shocked, while picking herself up, she notices
EMILY first before ARRON and FRED.

KELLY
God damn it! I was hoping to scare you
dumb-asses a little bit more before
being caught.

GARRY is confused over why KELLY is here and ARRON and EMILY
are clueless of who she is.

ARRON AND EMILY
Who are you?

EMILY
And why are you trying to scare us?

KELLY smiles. GARRY looks back at the rest of the group

GARRY
This is KELLY, My ex.

KELLY reacts to what has been said.

More like 'current' girlfriend, or is
it that slut with the glasses?

EMILY takes offence, EMILY wanted to walk up and punch her in
the face, but before she could, GARRY speaks up to try and
avoid a fight.

GARRY
I dumped you, weeks ago, we have
nothing between us. EMILY do not
believe her.

KELLY looked at GARRY with anger in her face.

KELLY
I dumped you, prick! You kept stealing
all my money and taking those nasty
drugs. Could you have drunk instead,
that would have been more fun.

GARRY wants to change topic so he tries to ask a question,
but is interrupted before he opens his mouth.

EMILY, ARRON AND FRED
That's GARRY for you.

Feeling embarrassed, he still goes to ask the question.

GARRY
Are you the one who is scaring us?

Out of frustration, KELLY hits herself.

KELLY
This is why I left you, you can't work
out anything for yourself and if you
do, it's the most stupid idea. Of
course I was the one scaring you, your
slut and two boyfriends.

FRED and ARRON looked a bit pissed off with her

ARRON
(Whispers to FRED)
I can see why he dumped her.

FRED
(Whispers to ARRON)
She always was an awful bitch.

KELLY tries to push past GARRY to get to EMILY

KELLY
And you, come here you slut!
EMILY panics, but then a loud laugh shrieks throughout the
mansion. Everyone is stunned by the laugh. EMILY gulps and
looks at KELLY.

EMILY
That was you playing a prank right.
KELLY looks just as shocked as everyone else. Everyone knows
that it is no longer her playing a prank. ARRON runs past the
group and disappearing into the darkness.

GARRY
Where the fuck are you going!
GARRY starts to run in the direction that he went and
everyone else follows quickly behind.

EMILY
(While trying to keep up with the
others.)
I am starting to think this place is
actually haunted.
