Leadership is a blessing as it

leaves his ego behind for the success of his

mastered the art of leadership whether it is a leader
of a school, team or a nation all sharing the same

with yourself, when you become a leader this same
success will help you in bringing about growth in others.
If God has chosen you to be a leader then be thankful for

MY CONCEPT

OF LOVE
T

here are various
explanations and
definitions about love for
everyone. As per the great
Oxford Dictionary this 4 letter
word has varied synonyms like
affection, care, fondness, concern,
attachment, warmth, desire, passion,
adoration, etc. Thus if we go to see,
every individual will have his or her own set of ideologies about love.
Thus this small word has a separate identify for every single person.
Keeping aside the technical and dictionary meaning, for me love is that emotion that
has the power to handle any other emotion. It is like a mirror which shows you the true “you”. It is a
feeling showered upon both living and non-living things.
Elaborating more upon my view on “love”, I would say that love is present when you come into existence.
It is love that one’s parents shower on their kids which may be in the form of advice, care, concern, anger,
possessiveness etc. It is love for the country which every defence personnel has and for which they happily give
up their lives too. It is love for a small plant with which one cares and shares everything daily. It is love for a particular area of
expertise due to which one excels in. It is love for a particular toy or bag or anything due to which we cherish it forever. Thus,
it is clear that love is not a feeling to be shared with only people or living things. It is for all.
If you care for a person or love a person, you are yourself in the presence of that person. You need not be artificial and
try to adjust when there is love between two people. Like a mirror which reflects who you are truly, the person who
loves you unconditionally will truthfully tell you who you are, where you are wrong or where you lack. This can
happen only when along with love a most important value of trust is present, thus where there is love there is
genuineness.
Finally love has the power to handle any emotions. Looking at one’s child sad and upset, a parent
can go to any extent to bring back the lost smile on his/her face. It is love for the child that the
parents have which helps in overcoming all sadness. When one has fought with his or her
best friend it is impossible to stay away without talking to him or her because of the
bond of love and care that they share. It is love for the country when a soldier dies
for the motherland and in that moment of grief and pride also at times the
martyr’s family members decide to join the army. In punishments given to
us by our parents and teachers there is love hidden so that we may
realize the mistake committed and never repeat it again.
Thus, love is the centre of the universe and of all other
emotions. It helps to handle sadness, joy, anger,
rejection, hurt, success and happiness.
Thus I would conclude that love helps
us to handle anything and
everything.

SEA OF STARS ON

VAADHOO
ISLAND

aldives, is an island country and archipelago in the Indian Ocean. It lies southwest of India and Sri Lanka in the Laccadive
MSea. The chain of twenty six atolls stretches from Ihavandhippolhu Atoll to the Addu Atoll. The capital and largest city is
Malé, traditionally called the “King’s Island.”
Historically linked with the Indian subcontinent, Maldives is a Muslim-majority country. From the mid-sixteenth century colonial
powers dominated the islands: Portugal, the Netherlands and Britain. The islands gained independence from the United
Kingdom in 1965, becoming a republic in 1968.
Vaadhoo Island, Maldives, the famous group of islands are known for being a heaven on Earth. But Vaadhoo Island has a lot of
surprises that are revealed at night. The mesmerizing shining water looks like a mirror, which reflects the sparkling stars above.
This phenomena has been called the “Sea of Stars” due to its glowing blue waves. It’s definitely a fantasy-like experience but
before that lets know more about the beautiful little creatures that cause this unbelievable glowing effect.
This phenomenon is caused by a natural chemical reaction known as bioluminescence, which occurs when a microorganism in
the water reacts with oxygen. These microorganisms or marinemicrobes are called phytoplankton and there are a variety of its
species that create bioluminescence seen in different parts of the world.
One of the most common phytoplankton that cause marine bioluminescence are known as dinoflagellates. As dinoflagellates
float, movement in the surrounding water sends electrical impulses around a proton-filled compartment inside them. The
electrical pulses open the voltage-sensitive proton ion channels into scintillons(the flashing unit inside dinoflagellates). Proteins
that flow into the scintillon, while the pH in the cytoplasm changes, creates a series of chemical reactions which activate a
protein called luciferase. Luciferase together with luciferin are combined in scintillons and when oxygen joins them, the neon
blue light is created.
Dinoflagellates aren’t the only ones that produce bioluminescence. Other marine animals like krill, deep-sea squids, and
anglerfish also have their own ways and reasons for producing their own lights. The Sea of Stars in Vaadhoo, Maldives is just
only one of those great sites where you can see this happening but it can happen anywhere. Within Maldives, you can also visit
the islands of Mudhdhoo and Rangali for this spectacular event.
The coast of Leucadia, California had bursts of light coming from the rolling waves during red tide. Bioluminescence also
occurred on the shores of Lakshadweep Islands, India and Mosquito Bay in Vieques, Puerto Rico.
The marine phenomenon can be best seen during moonless nights.
