My life Memories

By: Monae Oliver

First day of school

When I started 8th grade it was really stressful for me because, 1.
I only spent a year at that school and I was barely figuring out
where the bathrooms were and once you got into 8th grade the
teachers would act like you knew everything. It’s sad because I
didn’t get to have the full experience of middle school. 2. Because
there was a large line outside the school and my grandma and I
didn’t know that we were in the wrong line and we were waiting
there for about 30 minutes, so that’s when I started to overthink
and worry about being late to class. 3. I was also worrying about
how was going to able to get into the school because I didn’t have
a daily pass, printer or phone at that time.

How I Felt When Covid Closed Schools

When I heard we weren’t coming back to school for about 2 weeks
I was confused to why but also happy because that meant we had
no more school until those 2 weeks were over. That's until It started
to come up more on the news and then I realized that this virus
going around was a very serious thing and it was actually killing
people. And so that’s when we were told that it was going to be
more than 2 weeks and turned out to be more than a year. I loved
my break but being out of school for so long kind of sucked
because you couldn’t even go anywhere unless you were
vaccinated, wore and mask, and stayed 6 feet apart from people.
To me the masks were also very annoying, when it was very hot in
the summer you would be overheating and very sweaty, so it was
very hard to breath in them.

AND

BAD GOOD

My Summer

My summer wasn’t really the best or the most exciting summer
ever. I would wake up in the morning and sometimes afternoon and
sleep in, brush my teeth, eat, play video games, clean, and sleep at
a late hour. There was point to where I would do a short exercise to
start my day, and then eat a bowl of oatmeal with fruits. But overall
it was pretty fun and felt like forever, but it wasn’t the best sadly.

My Music Interests

I like all music except for rock, and country. Music has had a huge
effect in my life to the point where it makes me happy, and stay
focused like when I’m cleaning, doing homework, taking a shower
and etc. Right now my favorite song at the moment is called “star
song” and the main lyrics that mean all lot to me are “I think your
perfect how you are; your a star; your one in a million” which
makes me feel good and confident about myself when I look in the
mirror and sing it to myself.
