Rebbetzin Paulie Rose

Paulie Rose, originally from Los Angeles, CA is a product of Jewish Day School, the University
of Judaism (now AJU), and the Jewish Theological Seminary.
A Jewish educator and Jewish communal professional, Paulie has served communities in CA,
NJ, NY, OH, Japan and St. Louis, MO. A creative and compassionate leader, a dedicated com-
munity volunteer and the proud and active Rebbetzin of Congregation B’nai Amoona for the
last 16 years, Paulie’s highest calling has been serving as Ima to her four children, Noa, Zakai,
Levi and Ellior.
As her children have matured, Paulie has focused more of her time on her art, her work as Di-
rector of Sales and Marketing at RCF Technologies - her family’s third generation manufacturing
business, and of course, her love of her B’nai Amoona family.
Though Paulie prefers to leave the spotlight to others, she is humbled by this meaningful honor
and recognition.

Congregation B’nai Amoona’s Virtual Gala 2021

One of my idiosyncratic guilty pleasures is a love of superheroes and heroines.
Recently, I came across the Israeli adaptation of the comic book marvel Wonder
Woman dubbed in Hebrew “Eshet Chayil”. Eshet Chayil is, of course, the Hebrew
term for a woman of dignified elegance and impeccable moral charter, and the
notion is derived from the Biblical Book of Proverbs, chapter 31. Though “Eshet
Chayil” is often translated as “A Woman of Valor”, a more nuanced and
comprehensive definition might be a woman of courage, valiance, strength,
determination, heroism, decency and honor. As I consider our honoree, and my
beloved, I can think of no better epithet. Paulie is truly an Eshet Chayil, a
Wonder Woman. And as we honor her tonight, I am reminded of the verses in
this same chapter that read as follows: “Her children rise and celebrate her; her
husband too and he praises her: “Many women have attained valor, but you,
surely you, have surpassed them all.”

No truer words have ever been spoken! I love you Paulie, you are MY most
Wonderous and Wonderful Woman!

BeAhavat Olam, with eternal gratitude and unending love,

Carnie

We are celebrating tonight B’nai Amoona, our resilience, and connectedness that we
achieved despite our distance and all the goodness and love that was spread by our Klei
Kodesh, staff, and volunteers to our members, and beyond. Please sit back, relax and enjoy
an evening of entertainment with Ben Nordstrom and Steve Neale. Be sure to “Bid the
Night Away” in our awesome silent auction filled with gems, culinary delights and magical
moments. A Heartfelt thank you to all of our kind and generous Donors and Sponsors that
honored Paulie Rose and B’nai Amoona.

Recognizing the Rose Among Us! Thank you to Rebbetzin Paulie Rose for allowing us to
share our love because she always helps to spread the love. Paulie, you are humble, kind,
compassionate, and generous of heart. Paulie embodies the essence of an Eishet Chayil, a
Woman of Valor, her worth far beyond rubies and hands that are always open to those in
need with deeds that speak her praise. Paulie, you are clothed with strength and splendor,
speak with wisdom, guided by kind-heartedness. Your children bless you and your husband
praises you. Paulie, you possess optimism, truth, face life with confidence, courage, and
strength. Paulie Rose is our Eishet Chayil, who spreads the love, committed to her family,
spirituality, Tikkun Olam and personal growth. Our special honoree lives a life of valor and
goodness. We celebrate and honor Paulie Rose, Recognizing the Rose Among Us as she is a
blessing for her family, her B’nai Amoona family and the St. Louis Jewish Community,
MAZEL TOV!

Lanie Goldenberg

Honorary Chair & Woman of Valor

Lanie Goldenberg grew up in a large, Jewish family in Nashville, Tennessee. As a
new bride, she moved with her husband Milton to St. Louis. They joined Milton’s
family as members of Congregation B’nai Amoona over 50 years ago. She spent a
lot of time driving her three children to and from the Trinity building for Hebrew
School!

Lanie thought volunteering would be a great way to become part of the St. Louis
community. Many years were devoted to Life Seekers raising funds for
pediatric medical equipment. As a past president, board chair, and board member,
The Miriam School remains close to her heart and of importance.

Lanie enjoyed performing in B’nai Amoona Sisterhood Mitzvah fundraising shows
written by Harriet Lipnick and many others. Her favorite show was “Two by Two”
where she was married to Rabbi Bernie Lipnick! She’s also the proud grandmother
of nine grandchildren.

Lauren Weissman Kerner

Honorary Chair & Woman of Valor

Lauren Weissman Kerner’s family are multiple generation B’nai Amoona members.
Services as a child bring heartwarming, joyful memories. She’ll always remember
watching her grandfather sing Adon Olam with a contented smile. So many
unshakable, fond memories inspired Lauren and her husband, Kyle, to continue the
family tradition and raise their three children in our congregation as well.

Judaism and family have significantly shaped Lauren’s priorities and life. After college
she launched her career at Jewish Federation of St. Louis as Director of the Women’s
Business & Professional Division. Later, Lauren took on a variety of roles to educate
herself about Weissman Dancewear, founded by her grandmother Rose. Lauren is
now the third generation to lead her family’s business. Work is a passion for Lauren,
as is learning and the improvement of education. She believes in setting up every
child for success, with a meaningful and experiential environment that fosters all
types of learning styles.

Harriet Lipnick

Honorary Chair & Woman of Valor

Harriet has been a cheerleader in every phase of her life. She has always been
actively involved in everything she pursues. One might ask “What has she
done with her life?”. The answer would be… what hasn’t she done?
When she married Rabbi Lipnick she immersed herself in the role of Rebbetzin
from the start. She generously gave of her time and talents to the many facets
of B’nai Amoona life. And whether she was personally involved or not, she
always cheered on others who were working to make the Shul succeed in
every aspect.
One of her most cherished and more recent accomplishments is the book of
Rabbi Lipnick sermons: “Memorable Moments in a Long Rabbinic Career”.

Congregation B’nai Amoona’s Virtual Gala 2021

Sherry Wolff

Honorary Chair & Woman of Valor

I was Bat mitzvahed and confirmed as a third generation member of Chuzuk Amuno,
a great Conservative Synagogue in Baltimore, Maryland.
Coincidentally, it is the exact Synagogue where Rabbi Lipnick was before he came to
B’nai Amoona. My father graduated in the same high school class as Rabbi Lipnick. It
was once remarked to me by Rabbi Lipnick that he never had a yearbook. I was able
to gift him ours after my father passed away.
I am lucky enough to be a part of the B’nai Amoona family by marrying Gary Wolff.
He also comes from a long line of multi-generational Carp and Wolff families. My
best memory is the day I got married at B’nai Amoona! When I met Paulie, there was
an instant bond as we share the same birthday! What a wonderful honor to be chosen
along with the other amazing women to honor Paulie.
