Question แปลว่า คำถาม | Tag แปลว่า วลี
** Question Tag แปลว่า วลีที่ใช้ต่อท้ายประโยค
เพื่อเปลี่ยนประโยคนั้นให้เป็นคำถาม

เป็นการถามคำถามรูปแบบนึงที่ Native speaker นิยมใช้

Question tag

ถ้าเทียบกับคำไทยก็จะเหมือนกับคำว่า
“ใช่มั้ย” หรือ “ไม่ใช่หรอ” เช่น

He is a teacher, is he?
เขาเป็นครูใช่มั้ย
He is a teacher, isn’t he?
เขาเป็นครูไม่ใช่หรอ

Question tag ในภาษาอังกฤษ

เช่น และ aren’t they?
are they? และ don’t you?
do you? และ won’t she?
will she? และ shouldn’t I?
should I? และ can’t he?
can he?

**สังเกตว่า question tag จะเป็นการนำคำกริยาตระกูล (be/do/have) หรือคำ
กริยาช่วย (เช่น will, should, can) มาใช้คู่กับคำสรรพนาม (I, you, he, she, it,
we, they) โดยจะมีทั้งรูป บอกเล่าและรูปปฏิเสธ

การเลือกใช้คำใน Question tag

1. ใช้สรรพนามใน question tag ตามประธานในประโยคหลัก
Tim heis your best friend, isn’t ?
She she?called you last week, didn’t

2. ถ้าประโยคหลักใช้ verb to be (is, am, are, was, were) ให้ใช้ verb
to be นั้นใน question tag

is isTim your best friend, n’t he?
He was at the party, wasn’t he?
** ยกเว้นว่าถ้า verb to be ที่ใช้เป็น am การใช้ question tag รูป
ปฏิเสธ เราจะนิยมใช้ aren’t I? หรือ am I not? แต่จะไม่ใช้ am not I?

การเลือกใช้คำใน Question tag

3. ถ้าประโยคหลักมีคำกริยาช่วย (เช่น can, could, will, would, should)
รวมถึงคำกริยาช่วยใน และ perfect tense (have, has, had) ด้วย ให้ใช้คำ
กริยาช่วยนั้นใน question tag

You can swim, can’t you?
She will call you, won’t she?
Your dad have been there before, haven’t he?
4. ถ้าประโยคหลักใช้คำกริยาทั่วไปที่ ไม่ใช่ verb to be และไม่มีคำกริยาช่วย
ให้ใช้ do, does, did ใน question tag
You miss him, do you?
She called you last week, didn’t she?

การเลือกใช้คำใน Question tag

**เพ่ิมเติม**
ถ้าประโยคหลักเป็นประโยคคำสั่งหรือประโยคขอร้อง เรามักจะใช้ will ใน question tag

Stop making noise, will you?
Please pay attention, will you?
- Let's + v.1, shall we ?
- There is / There are _______, isn't there / aren't there?
- This/That is __, isn’t it?
- ถ้าประธานในประโยคหนา้ เป็น everyone/everybody/someone/somebody
tag ด้านหลังจะใช้ประธาน เป็น they

Ex. Everyone is here , aren't they ?

การใช้ Question tag

รูปแบบ 1 : ประโยคบอกเล่า , กริยาช่วย+not+ ประธาน (สรรพนาม) ?

**tag ต้องเป็นรูปย่อเสมอ**

** ถ้าประโยคหน้า เป็นบอกเล่า , tag ด้านหลังจะเป็นรูปปฏิเสธ

** คาดหวังในการตอบคือ Yes ถามเพราะไม่แน่ใจ
Ex.

Sarah lives in France, doesn't she ?

She is from Australia , isn’t she ?

I am beautiful , aren't I ? **ข้อยกเว้น ต้องใช้ aren't I เท่านั้น**

การใช้ Question tag

รูปแบบ 1 : ประโยคปฏิเสธ , กริยาช่วย+ ประธาน ? (ไม่มี not)

**tag ต้องเป็นรูปย่อเสมอ**

** ถ้าประโยคหน้า เป็นปฏิเสธ , tag ด้านหลังจะเป็นบอกเล่า

** คาดหวังในการตอบคือ No ถามเพราะไม่รู้
Ex.

John didn't come to class, did he ?

He isn’t from Vietnam , is he ?

Jeff can't speak French , can he ?
