The Newington Arena is excited to host the Sixth Annual Nutmeg Ice Dance Weekend. Ice
dancers of all levels and ages are invited to join us for ice dancing, on-ice clinics, off-ice
training, ballroom dance lessons, a Friday social, and a Saturday dinner dance. Discounts are
available for early sign up of the complete program, including the Saturday evening dinner
dance.

HOST RINK: Newington Arena, 300 Alumni Rd., Newington, CT 06111. (860) 665-7825.
The rink is located in central CT, with easy access to Routes 9, 84, and 91, about 25 minutes
south of Bradley Airport. Breakfast and lunch buffets, beverages, healthy snacks, and water will
be provided on Saturday and Sunday in the rink foyer. www.newingtonarena.com

WELCOMING PARTY and DINNER DANCE: A wine and cheese (and so much more!)
welcoming party will be held Friday evening after the skating session in the rink’s upstairs
lounge. A Saturday evening dinner dance will be held at the Indian Hill Country Club around
the corner from the rink.

ICE DANCING: 11 hours at the Newington Arena. Look for our local area professionals!
Private lesson/practice sessions may be available prior to morning Program ice. (See last
page.)

CLINICS: Two separate, 45-minute classes will be provided by Svetlana Kulikova, 2003
Nebelhorn Trophy champion, and Daniil Barantsev, 2000 World Junior champion. Off-ice
training will be offered each morning by Pro Jeannie Zalenski-Boucher.

BALLROOM / LATIN LESSONS: Two classes will be offered on Saturday after skating to
accommodate various levels and interests.

ATTIRE: Saturday dinner dance, formal. On the ice, competition or testing attire.

EARLY BIRD DISCOUNT: Available thru Monday, July 13, 2015.

• 84 West to exit 39A onto route 9 South. Go 2.6 miles. Take exit 29.
• Turn left onto Ella Grasso Blvd., right onto Fenn Road, then left onto Cedar Street (route 175).
• Go ½ mile. Turn left (at CITGO station) onto Alumni Road. Arena is ½ mi. on the right.

From the North:

• 91 South to exit 32A-32b for route 84 West. Bear left on ramp to 32A; merge onto route 84.
• Take exit 39A onto route 9 South. Go 2.6 miles. Take exit 29.

From the South:

We are fortunate in Connecticut to have many accomplished and talented pros who may
be available to offer early morning private lessons at Newington Arena prior to Program
Dance Sessions.

Times and prices must be arranged by the student and pro. Interested guests will pay the
pro fee and will need to purchase a 50-minute session ticket for the ice time from the rink
office. Guests who wish to use the time for personal practice may also buy a session
