Similiar Works A creative reimagining of the television show “Cheers” at a bathhouse, this workplace comedy will have the “Caucasianfish-thrown-into-an-ethnic-pond” feel of “Orange Is the New Black,” the LGBT awareness of “Queer As Folk” and the frank racial awareness of “Dear White People.” In the traditional approach to television comedy, Bathhouse Betty’s Diaries is a live-action, multi-camera, thirty-minute sitcom in which our anti-heroine Julie Halters, an overbearing businesswoman, inherits a gay bathhouse staffed with an eclectic group of men who force her to face her own belief system, which she slowly realizes is quite prejudicial. The multi-camera aspect of the series is an intentional device that gives the show the spirit of live theater. Bathhouse Betty’s Diaries touches on a number of provocative topics, and the energy and participation of a live audience will provide the subject matter the immediate gravitas and emotional gratification it deserves. Format Tone Essentially “Cheers” in a Bathhouse Inspired by the fish out of water comedy of Schitt$ Creek Dry humor Workplace comedy like One Love “The Bear” Breeze Vincinz | 323.327.886 | www.bathhousebetty.com
