The quality of essential oils varies widely. If you want to
use them as a natural alternative for their benefits then
you'll need to make sure you are buying a high quality

A HIGH QUALITY regulation of produce and agricultural
products. “A raw or processed
agricultural product sold, labeled or
represented as ‘organic’ must contain…
not less than 95% organically produced
raw or processed agricultural products.”
This means the remaining 5% could be
synthetic components and the
essential oil would still be considered
organic. Having the “certified organic”
label, therefore, does not guarantee the
best possible product.
More than Organic
YL Goes Above and Beyond...
QUALITY
YL believes in sourcing and growing plants in an environment
that will produce oils of the highest quality, which might
compete with USDA regulations.
AROUND THE GLOBE
Essential oils come from plants grown in other countries, and
each country has its own rules around organic practices.
BETTER THAN ORGANIC
Young Living’s very strict “Seed to Seal” standards regulate the
company’s processes and that of its suppliers, which goes above
and beyond USDA requirements for purity.
GROWING & CONTAMINATION
The USDA’s certification process only relates to growing conditions
and end contamination levels. Young Living believes the methods
of distilling and production of an essential oil are just as important
as growing conditions and end contamination levels.
HEAVY METALS
Organic doesn’t require testing for heavy metals. Young Living is
the only company to test every single essential oil for heavy
metals, and they reject anything that contains trace amounts of it.
Young Living is able to deliver 100% pure, unadulterated
essential oils with all the natural ingredients and therapeutic
properties as nature intended.

Cochuenmtiicnalgs
It is a standard practice to use harsh chemicals
in the distillation process.
In distillers around the world, fire tube boilers
have chemical tanks on the water system
because the minerals in water create electrolysis
inside the boiler tubes. Without the chemicals,
these minerals will put holes in the tubes and
create leaks. It's around $5,000 per tube to
replace them plus the cost of having someone
open up the tank!
With Gary's innovative and unwavering
commitment to the best possible essential oils,
Gary Young attached huge filtration systems to
the fire tube boilers to remove some of the
minerals. He also implemented as standard
procedure to clean the tubes out after every
season.
This procedure costs $2,500 a
service but allows Young
Living to be virtually the only
company who avoids any
chemical contamination
during the distillation process.

Get Oily
YOUNG LIVING'S ESSENTIAL OILS ARE NOT intended to
diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. They ARE
to be used as part of a lifestyle - a safe, intentional,
proactive lifestyle where life becomes more about living
in the present vs. chasing symptoms and the fear-of-
age-mentality. We plan to carry out Gary's mission of
"oils in every home" by teaching you all how to get the
most out of them!
WHAT CAN ESSENTIAL OILS DO FOR
YOU AND YOUR HOME?
FAST FACTS
How Do Essential Oils Work?
01 Constituents - the components that make up the oil - each have a
unique combination that lends itself to a different use. EX:
Peppermint provides a cooling sensation due to menthol, its main
constituent!
02 Receptors are proteins that specifically bind with different types of
03 molecules to facilitate chemical communication within our bodies. Without
receptors, you wouldn’t sense those super-cooling powers our friend
Peppermint offers. When compounds in essential oils bind to receptors, they
trigger specific effects in our bodies depending on the oil’s constituents and
how you’ve applied it—topically or aromatically.
You’ll find a whopping 100 million or more receptors packed into an
area about 2.5 square centimeters (in your nose). No wonder
essential oils are crazy good at stirring certain emotions or specific
memories—you have all those olfactory receptors just waiting to
send signals to your brain!

TODAY'S
DIRECTIONS:
Just Add Oil
Touch
Essential Oils are actually not oily at all! They
evaporate or absorb very quickly. This is beneficial
because it means it is either getting into our
bodies or our air more quickly! Topical application
is ideal for massage and relaxation whether you are
releasing tension from a kink, soreness after
exercise or winding the kiddos down for the night -
essential oils and touch are powerful!
Taste
Young Living has a Vitality Line of essential oils that
are tested and safe for consumption. Just like we
use herbs, spices and citrus rinds to cook with - we
can similarly use the Vitality oils. Bonus is: they are
super concentrated (less is more) they do not
expire and hold more therapeutic benefits in one
drop than the alternative dried spices.
Sound
What is happening around you when essential oils
are applied? Are kids screaming? Do you have the
Aria diffuser playing in the background with its
mellow melodies? Are you stepping into a yoga
class? Crawling into bed with white noise? Sound
can either increase or interrupt your experience
when using Essential Oils. Be mindful.
A Closer Look: Vitality Line But what are the benefits of having a
safe line of Essential Oils for
consumption?
To show you the impact our Vitality essential oils make on the inside: let's
zoom into one of our most popular supplements - MultiGreens! This was
one of the first supplements Gary Young created.
Without essential oils in the formula, the blood absorption rate was 42% in
24 hours. Once Rosemary, Lemon, Lemongrass, and Melissa essential oils
were added to the formula, the blood absorption rate increased to 64% in
only 30 minutes and 86% in only one hour. The addition of our Vitality
essential oils to this supplement increased assimilation and allowed cells
to receive nutrients they were not previously receiving.
When our Vitality Line is used for supplementation, they can do amazing
things for the body. When used in place of herbs, spices and citrus in the
kitchen they offer a unique, potent, non-gmo alternative for flavors!

The word “fragrance” covers dozens, sometimes even hundreds, of chemicals
on product labels. Many common household products and personal care
items contain fragrances. Examples include cleaners, air fresheners, scented
detergents, hand lotions, candles, incense, and felt-tip art markers.
Many synthetic chemicals in fragrances are petroleum-based and can be
harmful to human health. Chemicals found in fragrances include phthalates,
which are endocrine disruptors, and carcinogens benzophenone and styrene.
In addition, some children and adults have allergic reactions to fragrance
chemicals. Asthmatic children are at especially high risk.

The Power Behind
Aromatherapy.
One of the most popular ways to experience essential oils is
through aromatherapy, the practice of using oils aromatically
and topically for overall wellness. Whether you’re diffusing oils
to freshen the air or using them topically during a massage,
you’re practicing aromatherapy. The benefits of aromatherapy
are endless, including enhancing meditation, boosting your
mood, and improving your bedtime routine!
