Minister of State for Tourism (Independent Charge), Government of India
I extend my best wishes for the National Tourism Conclave – Rajasthan, which is going to be held on
13th July 2018. Rajasthan is one of the most wonderful places in the country, a great destination with
amazing things to see and experience. Rajasthan is the ultimate in luxury - ultimate in terms of the old
glory of India and, of course, in addition to these, we have the desert tourism of India here, coupled
with the vibrant arts and culture of Rajasthan. I think Rajasthan is the place where the whole world
needs to come and experience its unique facets.

Discovering Enchanting–
Rajasthan at Night
The Government of Rajasthan has been paying a lot of
attention on promoting the night tourism in the State.
The move to rediscover its immeasurable potential to
strengthen this side of tourism appears to be reaping
rich dividends.
The step was undertaken in the wake of dwindling tourist population,
especially during the summers. The initiatives seem to have largely
achieved its intended results if the numbers of tourists thronging to
State’s popular attractions during last few summers are anything to go by.
Ever since being introduced initially in 2015 by the Rajasthan Tourism
Development Corporation(RTDC), the unique concept has not only made

INNOVATIVE PRACTICES IN THE WORLD OF SMART CITIES
Developing cities in Rajasthan on the lines of Smart Cities Mission of Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led
Government was the centre of discussions held during the Smart City Summit held in Ajmer in April. Present on the
occassion was Vasudev Devnani, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Primary and Secondary Education,
Government of Rajasthan who inaugurated the summit. The Summit was organised by the Department of Local Self
Government, Government of Rajasthan, in association with Elets Technomedia Private Limited.
The first day of the two-day summit also witnessed international participation from agencies like United States Trade and
Development Agency (USTDA) and High Commission of Malaysia.
Ajmer, the Rajasthan’s city famous for its Sufi shrine — Ajmer Sharif Dargah, is set for a major overhaul.
Nestled in Aravalli Mountains, Ajmer also holds significance for serving as the base to visit the ancient city of Pushkar, known for
the temple of Lord Brahma.
In this light, efforts are on to steadily introduce digitisation in the city’s administrative system. It is hoped to ensure a makeover
as part of realising the Smart City dream.
This was the 29th Smart City Summit organised by Elets, which has a vision of organising 100 such Smart City conferences across
the country.
