Students will learn the importance of the preparation process, selection of dyes and finishes, dyeing and printing techniques, colour matching process and waste water treatment. Upon completion of this course, students should be able to: CLO1: Explain all types of processes involves in textile wet processing. CLO2: Determine the colouring process in textile wet processing. CLO3: Discuss the relation of water treatment process in textile wet processing. DJX40062 Dyeing and Finishing DJX40062 Dyeing and Finishing TEXTILE TESTING provides the students with basic understanding of testing procedures for fibres, yarn, fabric and dyeing and finishing. In addition, this course also equips students with skills in doing experiments using testing equipment. Students are also exposed towards the textile properties and defects. Upon completion of this course, students should be able to: CLO1: Explain the principles of textile testing and quality control in fiber, yarn and fabric. TEXTILE WORKSHOP PRACTICE 2 is continuity from Textile Workshop Practice 1. Student will learn by section starting from fundamental concepts and designing pattern techniques for woven fabric using computer aided design. Handle parameters for knitting machine and shedding mechanism on weaving machine such as dobby and jacquard weaving machine. The dyeing process will introduce the textile wet processing such as exhaust dyeing, color matching process and waste water treatment. Fabric analysis provides skills using textile test laboratory to relate with material and properties for end used. SYNOPSIS: CLO: Upon completion of this course, students should be able to: CLO1 : Conduct the weaving and knitting machine for woven and knitted fabric production according to Standard Operation Procedure (SOP). CLO2 : Perform well in conducting the process of dyeing and analysis of fabric according to practical work procedures. CLO3 : Demonstrate awareness of environment issue and sustainability according to the practical work procedures and practices. DJX50082 Textile Workshop Practice 2 DJX50082 Textile Workshop Practice 2 SYNOPSIS: CLO: TECHNICAL TEXTILE provides students with knowledge about textile materials with the priority is on the properties and ability compare to aesthetic and also knowing the latest development in technical textile. This course concentrates on the textile material selection and application in technical textile focusing on geo-textiles, building textiles, fibre reinforced composite, automotive textiles, technical textile in apparel and agro-tech. Upon completion of this course, students should be able to: CLO1: Interpret textile material properties for certain technical textile fields.
