WHAT IS DESCRIPTIVE ESSAY

A descriptive essay gives a detailed description of the topic and
paints a picture with words in the reader’s mind.
It is the most expressive form of an essay.
It could be about an object, place, person, emotion, situation, or
anything.
It seems similar to writing a narrative essay but it is different and
presents different points of view.

PURPOSE

The purpose of writing a descriptive essay is to describe something
such as a person, object, place, or situation.
Descriptive speech or essays give readers a clear picture of the essay
subject.
The writer should make use of vivid language to help the reader
understand what the essay is all about.
It does not involve convincing readers or showing factual
information to prove something like an argumentative essay does.
Instead, it aims to show all the important details about the chosen
subject to make the reader understand the subject easily.

BENEFITS

It is used to sharpen the analytical abilities of the students, which is
helpful in further education and professional life. Therefore, it is
often given to students in high school and college.
This essay encourages the student’s ability to create an image by
appealing to the senses of the reader. The five human senses
include hearing, touch, taste, sight, and smell.

ESSAY

EXAMPLE : MY IDOL

An idol is a person who has a big impact on your life in many ways. I consider
my Dad as my idol. He is the most respectable and important person in my life.
He has influenced not only my life but the life of my entire family.

My Dad is working as a Regional Manager in State Bank of India. He has
worked very hard in his entire life to make sure that I and all my family
members have everything that we need and do not lack anything. Since
childhood he has taught me and my siblings’ important values and value for
money that we apply in our everyday life. He is my real-life hero and pillar of my
life to make me strong and keep moving.

He has taught me to avoid fighting on little things. He has always taught me
to sacrifice things for others and face the hardships of life with grace like I face
success. I discuss my personal problems with my Dad and he always guides me
how to deal with them in the best possible manner. Not only I even my friends
discuss their personal issues with my Dad as he has influenced their lives too. e
is patient, caring, loving and understanding. He listens to my ideas about
successful life diligently and shows me ways on how to reach that point. Even in
bad situations he keeps himself collected and cool and never loses his temper.

My family plays an important role in my father’s life. Due to his job, he is
always occupied with work pressures. But then too he manages to take out
time for us from his busy schedule. He is the strongest person I have ever come
across. I remembered an incident which took place 2 months back when his
elder brother died. He was deeply attached with him. He was in a deep pain
and couldn’t stand that news. But he managed to remain strong and give
support to my uncles and grandmother who were majorly affected by his
death.

Even I was deeply hurt by that incident as I was also attached with my uncle
more than anyone else after my father. Leaving his sorrows aside Dad advised
and counselled me to overcome that sad period. My father is a very good cook.
Many a time he cooks for us on weekends and sometimes in week days on
special occasions. He has always guided us to live a spiritual and sin free life. He
will always remain my hero. He is the best father in the world and I my love and
respect for him cannot be framed in words.

NARRATIVE

ESSAY EXAMPLE

The examples inform the readers about the writing style and structure of
the narration. The essay below will help you understand how to create a
story and build this type of essay in no time.

Introduction
The villagers had lost a few goats and poultry to a mystery. The mystery of
the missing farm animals spread like a wildfire in the village. Many
speculated there were thieves in the village while others suggested a wild
beast was on the run. Despite several speculations, the mystery of the
disappearances remained unsolved. The whole village was in a state of
dismay when the tiger appeared and launched another attack on the
village.

Body
The prey was not any farm animal this time, it was a young child playing
by the barn. The villagers had had enough, they had to put a stop to it
once and for all. They organized a group of the bravest men from the
village, armed them with shotguns and knives, and planned to attack the
tiger. They also took a goat to lure to the tiger in our trap.
The plan was to trap the tiger and later kill him. I was amongst the
members of the group who left for the jungle late at night. For hours we
did not hear anything except the mosquitoes and crickets around us. Then
we found paw prints on the muddy ground which assured us of the tiger’s
usual trail. Thereupon, as the sun rose we set up a trap using a goat as
bait. We were assured that this would catch the tiger immediately.
We had almost given up when suddenly around daybreak we heard the
bushes rustle and the leaves crackle. All of us shivered to our spines and
saw the mystery east coming towards us. We changed our guns and
pointed it towards the wild beast. We steadied our guns towards the tiger
as he jumped to grab the goat. He fell into the trap. One of the members
shot the tiger dead and we rescued the goat safely back to our village.

Conclusion
The mission was accomplished. We had killed the wild beast and had
emerged successful. It was an amazing hunting trip. One that would
always remain in my memory for all time to come.

ESSAY EXAMPLE

Some people get annoyed over hiccuping over and over. There are even
people
who have chronic hiccuping. In fact, “how to get rid of hiccups” is one of the
most
searched queries on the internet. Well, there are many things you can do. In
order
to get rid of hiccups, you can complete breathing and posture techniques, use
pressure points to your advantage, eat and drink certain things, and use some
special remedies. All of these solutions will be discussed in the following
paragraphs.

Firstly, there are many breathing and posturing techniques you can use to get
rid
of hiccups. Most of the techniques are easy to do. According to Healthline,
there are six physical methods of vanquishing your next hiccup: practicing
slow breathing, holding your breath in for a while, breathing into a paper
bag, hugging your knees for two minutes while sitting down, compressing
your chest by leaning or bending forward, and completing the Valsalva
maneuver. As stated by Healthline, To do this maneuver, try to exhale while
pinching your nose and keeping your mouth closed. You cannot do all these
techniques
simultaneously, but you can try them one by one and see which ones work
best
for you.

Also, you can try to use your body’s pressure points to your advantage to
dispel
hiccups. Though pressure points seem like an esoteric science, standard
western
medicine recommends using them. According to Medical News Today, these
three techniques that deal with these points can help: Pull on the tongue –
hold the end of the tongue in the fingers and tug. Press on the diaphragm
gently. Place gentle pressure on each side of the nose while swallowing.
Through these methods
might seem strange at first glance, they have a certain amount of
effectiveness that warrants
their recommendation.

Another natural way to get rid of hiccups is to consume certain foods and
liquids.
There are plenty of things we can eat and drink to chase away a nasty
episode of
hiccups. As mentioned by Healthline, it is good to “drink ice water, slowly
drink a glass of warm water without stopping to breathe, drink water
through a cloth or paper towel, suck on an ice cube, gargle ice water, eat a
spoonful of honey or peanut butter, eat some sugar, suck on a lemon, put
a
drop of vinegar on your tongue.Once again, test out which food and drink
techniques work best, instead of trying many at the same time.

And then, there are some strange techniques that have been
recommended by
scientists and other specialists. One of these theories states that hiccups
can be
relieved by having an orgasm (Peleg, R.). Another study mentioned that a
rectal
massage can aid in getting rid of hiccups (Odeh, M, et al). Other
alternative
methods include tapping or rubbing the back of one’s neck, poking the
back of the
throat with a Q-tip, and distracting yourself with something fascinating.
The last one is even a
time-honored tradition in certain countries.
Hiccups can be a nuisance, especially if they turn into a chronic
condition.
Thankfully, there are many actions we can take to clear up this issue: you
can
complete breathing and posture techniques, employ pressure points, eat
and
drink particular substances, and use some alternative remedies. It is best
to find
what works best for you out of the many choices discussed in this essay,
as each
body is different.

These days, close connections are hard to come by. It's difficult to recognise who your actual friends are in an
ever-changing society when everyone is aiming for their own version of preordained success. Fortunately, I
met my best friend when I was just 15 years old. His name is Ariff, and he is a young, attractive kid who has
recently relocated to Perak.

Ariff was a cheerful young guy who always managed to bring a refreshing change into the often-arid
classroom. His presence and vitality were loved by both students and teachers. With his amusing comments
and mannerisms, there was never a boring moment while he was around. He never allowed anyone to be
upset, and he did everything he could to brighten the mood 24/7. His crystal clear dark brown eyes were slit,
always watery and looking into my soul, which left me speechless every time. While staring towards the rear
at the back of the class, he likes to comb his long, brown hair with his fingers and style it. I had to glance up
when I stood near him since he is 5 feet 6 inches tall and I am just 4 feet 8 inches tall.

I adore the fact that he constantly supports me wholeheartedly in everything I do. Ariff quietly listens to all of
my problems, then evaluates them and guides me in finding answers. He has always been there for me
whenever I needed a friend or someone to cry to. In a nutshell, he is my safe place where I can vent my
emotions. When I had a terrible fever and didn't have the appetite to eat, Ariff got me chicken soup and
porridge from a McDonald's near his house. He also gives me sensible and insightful advice, which I
desperately need. He recently advised me to follow my dream of becoming a teacher by accepting an offer
from Institut Pendidikan Guru.
He instilled in me the values of patience and respect. As a girl, I felt appreciated since he never said anything
hurtful or insensitive. He is the most kind and considerate individual I have ever encountered. Even when he
was scolded at, he never raised his voice to anyone. He instilled in me the values of patience and respect. As

first. Another quality that draws me to this young man is his intellect - he knows a lot of stuff that aren't in
the textbooks. He taught me how to change a light bulb, how to improve the quality of my camera and even
how to ride a motorcycle.

When we went on a trip to Langkawi Island in Kedah, there was this beautiful water around the bend that
stole my breath away. The surface was mottled with turquoise and had dark purple streaks running across it.
In the intensity of the sun, the glistening creamy golden sand sparkles. The water shot into the air as the blue
wave smashed against the rocks, sending a rainbow of mist everywhere. It is a memory that will stay with me
forever. When we arrived at Chenang beach, we saw the waves and decided to join them in their
amusement. With that, we inhaled deeply and dove into the velvety, salty water. We went further and further
into the blue sea. The sun flowed through it, illuminating the water around us and making it golden. As the
powerful salty water streamed down our cheeks and flowed over our mouths, we could taste it.

I didn't realise it at the time, but we both understood we were much too young for such an emotional roller
coaster. People began to tease us as time passed on, because we spent ever more time around each other. It
was difficult at first to be separated especially during the corona virus epidemic, which separated us and
prevented us from meeting as often as we used to. Technology has assisted in bridging the distance in our
friendship. In many aspects, I can rely on my our friendship. Thankfully, technology, in the form of instant

DRAFT ESSAY: BIRTHDAY PARTY

The first year of life is just one of the many milestones we are blessed with. One of the most
important events I remember in my life was the day I helped celebrate my daughter's first
birthday. It was the twelfth of July 2001. I had eagely awaited this day since she was born, and to
help with the celebration, I invited a small crowd of family and friends to our home for a birthday
party and cookout.

Getting prepared for this eventful day was exciting. Sending out invitations, buying the food,
decorations, party favuors for the children, and most importantly, choosing what kind of cake to
get. The cake was a half of a sheets, which was able to feed up to 25 people. It was made with
fresh strawberries that tasted like they were picked right from the patch as a filling, surrounded
with butter cream icing, and decorated with "Baby Looney Tunes" caricatures on top. My mother
and her fiance graciously volunteered to do the preparation of the food for the party.

I can remember the temperature on that day, being hot and steamy. The air was so thick with
humidity you lived to be in the air-conditioning. Friends and family started to arrived around four
o'clock. At the same time the guest were arriving, the birthday girl was upstairs, taking a very
much needed nap. Request were starting to be made for her to make an entrance. I went upstairs
to awaken her, as she was coming down the stairs she had a look of surprise and confusion on her
face, not really sure of what to make of what's going on. As she started getting a little more
comfortable, it were time to start playing some games.

The one game that sticks out the most to me was the miniature pinata (which is not really a
game), which we hung from a tree in the front yard. We hung it low enough so that the children
would be able to get some hits in to bust the pinata open wide enough for the candy to expel out.
After about 20 chances with the children, the adults began to take turns, and eventually the
candy expelled out, sprawling all over the ground. The children quickly began to crawl around,
grabbing candy from everywhere, trying to make sure they receive an equal share.

Once we finished with the Pinata, it was time to eat. My mother and her fiance was receiving
compliments all afternoon. The menu consisted of: Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, Ribs, Chicken, Potato
Salad, Tuna Macaroni Salad, Fruit Salad, Baked Beans, String Beans, Deviled Eggs, Potato Chips,
Iced Tea, Sodas, and Juice for the children. When everyone finish eating their food, it was time
sing "Happy Birthday", which was kind of hilarious because she had a "Happy Birthday" tiara
that she would not keep on the top of her head, and while we were trying to sing her "Happy
Birthday", she was eagerly trying to take the "Baby Looney Tunes" caricatures off of the cake.
Not to mention, sticking her fingers in the cake. We had a little bit of a hard time getting her to
grasp the idea of blowing out the candles. After maybe, 3 blows, her father blow them out for her.

The whole cake was quickly devoured by everyone except the piece that said, "Happy Birthday
Taijah". After awhile, her interest quickly moved from the cake to the assortment of colorfully
decorated gift bags, with matching tissue paper and cards attached. We proceed to the opening
of the gifts, with her getting excited with each and every wonderful gift as they were unwrapped
or taken out of their bags.

Coronaviruses are a enormous family of viruses that can infect both animals and humans. Numerous
coronaviruses are known to cause respiratory infections in humans, tend to range from the common
cold to more serious diseases. Covid-19 is the name give to the infectious disease led by the most

recently discovered coronaviruses. Before the outbreak in Wuhan, China in December 2019, this
brand-new virus and disease were unknown. The covid-19 pandemic has sickned more than 203
million people golablly and claimed the lives of more than 4.2 million people worldwide. In data, US,

has the largest number of cases.

The most common symptoms of Covid-19 are mild fever, tiredness and dry cough. In more severe
cases, it causes respiratory infections that makes shortness of breath. It spreads primarily by

person-to-person contact through respiratory droplets that become airbone when an infected person
coughs, sneezes or speaks. While we are still learning about how Covid-19 affects people, it appears

that older people, children and also those with pre-existing medical conditions. For instance, high
blood pressure, lung disease and cancer. People with this such disease are more likely to develop
serious illness compared to others. World Vision is currently working diligently in all its program

areas to keep all children safe from the infections.

The deployment of Covid-19 vaccines is raising hopes for recovery all around the world and it is a
safer way to help build protection towards people in this world. This vaccination are effective. It also
helps children and adults from getting seveely ill even if they do they get Covid-19. These vaccines

are safe and effective. Scientist has conducted clinical trials before recommended the vaccination
especially for children. There is no evidence that this vaccination cause fertlity problems. Some
people doesnt get any side effects after the vaccination. On the other side, many people have
reported the side effects that has affected their ability to do daily activities but it’s a great

opportunity as it helps them to rest within a few days. Once fully vaccinated, people can proced on
many activities that they did before the pandemic but they still need to wear medical mask in public

indor settings if they are in an area of high transmission for safety.

Last but not least, what can you do to protect yourselves and prevent the spread of disease? In order
to do that, you can reduce your chances of being infected or spreading Covid-19 by taking some

simple precautions. Firstly, you must regularly and thoroughly wash and always keep your hand clean
with an alcoholbased hand rub such as hand sanitizer or just wash your hand with soap after doing
something as it helps to kill viruses that might be on your hands. Moreover, you have to keep a safe
distance of at least 1 metee from the people to avoid getting the virus just by talking and chatting
too close. The virus is contained in saliva droplets and can be transmitted by breathing at close
range, particularly when the cough, sneeze or have a fever. Not only that, avoid touching eyes, nose

and mouth as hands that touches many surfaces could pick up viruses. Most importantly, you need to
make sure that people around you are following good hygiene. This means by covering your mouth
and nose with your bent elbow or tissue when you cough or using a medical mask for a better
safetyIn addition, avoid shaking hands and hugging whenever you meet anyone as it helps virus
spreads severely through physical touch. You should stay at home as much as possible by following

the rules indicated by the authorities.Plus, if you ever feeling sick, has difficulty breathing, you must
seek medical attention immediately to avoid any circumstances. This will also protect you and help

Despite the fact that we live in the same neighbourhood, just a stone's throw away from our school, Ariff and I

motorcycle. Because to him, I was able to pass my driving test. This, I assume, is because he aspired
to be an engineer one day. When he pursued his studies in electric and electronic engineering at
Politeknik earlier this year, he had already stepped one foot into the field of his dreams.

The pleasant recollections of our time together are still fresh in my memory. But there is one memory
with Ariff that will stay with me forever. It was when we went on a trip to Pulau Langkawi, Kedah. We
slowed down after about 20 minutes of driving, and there was this beautiful water around the bend.
It literally stole my breath away. The water swayed beneath the blinding sunshine that glinted off the
swirling waves. It was a rich, deep blue in some places and a dazling, vibrant green in others. The
surface was mottled with turquoise and had dark purple streaks running across it. In the intensity of
the sun, the glistening creamy golden sand sparkles. The water shot into the air as the blue waves
smashed against the rocks, sending a rainbow of mist everywhere. We arrived at Chenang Beach,
where I leapt from the car and dashed down to the stunningly crystal clear deep blue sea. The waves
softly smashed on the coast, drawing closer to us, as if inviting us to join them in their games. We
exchanged a smile and decided to join them in their amusement. With that, we inhaled deeply and
dove into the velvety, salty water. We felt the water glide through our hair, making it swirl in the sea,
and it is cold and wonderful. We went further and further into the blue sea. The sun flowed through it,
illuminating the water around us and making it golden. As the powerful salty water streamed down
our cheeks and flowed over our mouths, we could taste it. I came to a realization that I would never
forget this time, this location, this memory with my dearest closest friends, or the feelings I had while
visiting here.

People began to tease us as time passed on, because we spent ever more time around each other.
We appears to comprehend what each other was thinking, and we genuinely cared about one other.
Was I head over heels in love with him? I didn't realise it at the time, but we both understood we were
much too young for such an emotional roller coaster. Ariff and I are currently enrolled at different
educational institutions. It was difficult at first to be separated especially during the corona virus
epidemic, which separated us and prevented us from meeting as we used to. Thankfully, technology,
in the form of instant mesaging, has assisted in bridging the distance in our friendship. We made a
promise to each other that we would keep in touch even after we were married. In many aspects, I
can rely on him. He shows me how to better respect others. He has demonstrated to me the
importance of being fair and reliable. I truly hope our friendship never dies.

DESCRIPTIVE ESSAY

These days, close connections are hard to come by. It's difficult to recognise
who your actual friends are in an ever-changing society when everyone is aiming
for their own version of preordained success. People nowadays have a proclivity to
deceive and backstab you. Fortunately, I met my best friend when I was just 15
years old. His name is Ariff, and he is a young, attractive kid who has recently
relocated to Perak at that time. Everyone's attention was drawn to this new student,
including mine. He is the family's last kid, the sixth child, same as me. I was a
lonely girl at the time, eating alone at the cafe. Until one day, he sat with me at
lunch, and that was the day I met my best friend.

Despite the fact that we lived in the same neighbourhood, just a stone's throw
away from our school, Ariff and I were acquainted because we were in the same
classroom and sat next to one other. Moreover, we were both in the same sport as
well, playing badminton with him is the best part of the day. Ariff was a cheerful
young guy who always managed to bring a refreshing change into the often-arid
classroom. He constantly knew beforehand what to say when the opportunity arose.
His presence and vitality were loved by both students and teachers. With his
amusing comments and mannerisms, there was never a boring moment while he
was around. He never allowed anyone to be upset, and he did everything he could to
brighten the mood 24 hours. His grin, with his bright and straight teeth, and his little
lips, is still fresh in my mind. To my ears, his chuckle sounded like gold. His crystal
clear dark brown eyes were slit, always watery and looking into my soul, which left
me speechless every time. His freckles on the other hand, completed his gorgeous
looks. While staring towards the rear at the back of the class, he likes to comb his
long, brown hair with his fingers and style it. He frequently asks my opinion on how
he looks, despite the fact everybody in the room already knows the truth. I had to
glance up when I stood near him since he is 5 feet 6 inches tall and I am just 4 feet 8
inches tall. He teases me about my height, claiming I look like a small toddler.

DESCRIPTIVE ESSAY

Out of all of his beautiful qualities, I adore the fact that he constantly supports me
wholeheartedly in everything I do. He has always been there for me whenever I
needed a friend or someone to cry to. In a nutshell, he is my safe place where I can
vent my emotions. I felt sad, disappointed, upset, or furious over something at times.
He, on the other hand, is the one who calms me down and makes me think clearly.
Ariff quietly listens to all of my problems, then evaluates them and guides me in
finding answers. For example, when I was having trouble finishing my tasks, he
suggested that I make a study schedule. He even assisted me with certain questions
that I was having difficulty answering. In addition, he is concerned about my
personal issues, such as my family problem, a conflict with a buddy, and my health
condition. Once I had a terrible fever and didn't have the appetite to eat, Ariff got me
chicken soup and porridge from a McDonald's near his house, along with some
medication. He appeared to be quite concerned at the time, which warmed my heart.
He also gives me sensible and insightful advice, which I desperately need. He never
asks me to do something that is illogical. He recently advised me to follow my
dream of becoming a teacher by accepting the offer from Institut Pendidikan Guru.

Despite the fact that he sounded like a rowdy and boisterous young man, he
was the polar opposite. He is an introvert who only speaks at specific times. I like
him for his personality and manner. He is the most kind and considerate individual I
have ever encountered. Even when he was scolded at, he never raised his voice to
anyone. He instilled in me the values of patience and respect. As a girl, I felt
appreciated since he never said anything hurtful or insensitive. He constantly asks
permission for everything and speaks in a soft, word-by-word tone, making it easier
to grasp what he's saying. It's also evident when he bows when he walks by older
people, such as teachers, and greets them with a bright "good morning." Ariff's
generosity is obvious from the fact that he will assist everyone he can, such as
assisting teachers in bringing their belongings into the teacher's room every day. He
never nags or complains about his homework or tasks. Ariff isn't the sort to interrupt
other people's conversations, so he typically lets me complete what I'm saying first.

NARRATIVE ESSAY

The first year of life is just one of the many milestones we are blessed with. One of
the most important events I remember in my life was the day I helped celebrate
my daughter's first birthday. It was the twelfth of July 2001. I had eagerly awaited
this day since she was born, and to help with the celebration, I invited a small
crowd of family and friends to our home for a birthday party and cookout.

Getting prepared for this eventful day was exciting. Sending out invitations,
buying the food, decorations, party favors for the children, and most importantly,
choosing what kind of cake to get. The cake was a half of a sheet, which was able
to feed up to 25 people. It was made with fresh strawberries that tasted like they
were picked right from the patch as a filling, surrounded with butter cream icing,
and decorated with "Baby Looney Tunes" caricatures on top. My mother and her
fiance graciously volunteered to do the preparation of the food for the party.

I can remember the temperature on that day, being hot and steamy. The air was
so thick with humidity you lived to be in the air-conditioning. Friends and family
started to arrive around four o'clock. At the same time the guest were arriving,
the birthday girl was upstairs, taking a very much needed nap. Request were
starting to be made for her to make an entrance. I went upstairs to awaken her, as
she was coming down the stairs she had a look of surprise and confusion on her
face, not really sure of what to make of what's going on. As she started getting a
little more comfortable, it was time to start playing some games.

The one game that sticks out the most to me is the miniature pinata (which is not
really a game), which we hung from a tree in the front yard. We hung it low
enough so that the children would be able to get some hits in to bust the pinata
open wide enough for the candy to expel out. After about 20 chances with the
children, the adults began to take turns, and eventually the candy expelled out,
sprawling all over the ground. The children quickly began to crawl around,
grabbing candy from everywhere, trying to make sure they received an equal
share.

NARRATIVE ESSAY

Once we finished with the Pinata, it was time to eat. My mother and her
fiance were receiving compliments all afternoon. The menu consisted of:
Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, Ribs, Chicken, Potato Salad, Tuna Macaroni
Salad, Fruit Salad, Baked Beans, String Beans, Deviled Eggs, Potato
Chips, Iced Tea, Sodas, and Juice for the children. When everyone
finished eating their food, it was time sing "Happy Birthday", which was
kind of hilarious because she had a "Happy Birthday" tiara that she
would not keep on the top of her head, and while we were trying to sing
her "Happy Birthday", she was eagerly trying to take the "Baby Looney
Tunes" caricatures off of the cake. Not to mention, sticking her fingers in
the cake. We had a little bit of a hard time getting her to grasp the idea of
blowing out the candles. After maybe, 3 blows, her father blew them out
for her.

The whole cake was quickly devoured by everyone except the piece that
said, "Happy Birthday Taijah". After awhile, her interest quickly moved
from the cake to the assortment of colorfully decorated gift bags, with
matching tissue paper and cards attached. We proceeded to the opening
of the gifts, with her getting excited with each and every wonderful gift
as they were unwrapped or taken out of their bags. As time winded
down, and the guest started gravitating to the door, we thanked everyone
for coming by to help us celebrate such a joyous event. As the last person
was leaving, I remember thinking to myself, this is just the first of many
more birthdays to come, and that I'm glad that my daughter had such
good time, and that we were able to celebrate her first birthday with
family and friends.

EXPOSITORY ESSAY

Coronaviruses are a enormous family of viruses that can infect both animals and humans.
Numerous coronaviruses are known to cause respiratory infections in humans, tend to
range from the common cold to more serious diseases. Covid-19 is the name given to the
infectious disease led by the most recently discovered coronaviruses which means ‘CO’
stands for coronavirus and ‘VI’ stands for virus while ‘19’ refers to the year it was
revealed. Before the outbreak in Wuhan, China in December 2019, this brand-new virus
and disease were unknown. The covid-19 pandemic has sickened more than 203 million
people globally and claimed the lives of more than 4.2 million people worldwide. In data,
United states has the largest number of cases in the world which is over 35 million and
more than 617,000 deaths had occured.

The most common symptoms of Covid-19 are mild fever, tiredness and dry cough. In
more severe cases, it causes respiratory infections that makes shortness of breath. It
spreads primarily by person-to-person contact through respiratory droplets that become
air-bone when an infected person coughs, sneezes or speaks. While we are still learning
about how Covid-19 affects people, it appears that older people, children and also those
with pre-existing medical conditions. For instance, high blood pressure, lung disease and
cancer. People with this such disease are more likely to develop serious illness compared
to others. World Vision is currently working diligently in all its program areas to keep
all children safe from the infections. Our coronavirus response aims to help at least 72
million people, half of them are children. In addition, world has successfully saved over
66 million people, it includes more than 28 million children.

The deployment of Covid-19 vaccines is raising hopes for recovery all around the world
and it is a safer way to help build protection towards people in this world. This
vaccination are effective and it helps to reduce the risk of getting and spreading the virus
causes Covid-19. It also helps children and adults from getting severely ill even if they do
they get Covid-19. These vaccines are safe and effective, according to a growing body of
evidence Covid-19 vaccines were created using decades-old scientific methods. Scientist
has conducted clinical trials before recommending the vaccination especially for
children. There is no evidence that this vaccination cause fertility problems. Some people
doesn’t get any side effects after the vaccination. On the other side, many people have
reported the side effects that has affected their ability to do daily activities but it’s a
great opportunity as it helps them to rest within a few days. Once fully vaccinated,
people can proceed on many activities that they did before the pandemic but they still
need to wear medical mask in public indoor settings if they are in an area of high
transmission for safety. One study has shown that, unvaccinated people who already had
Covid-19 are more than two times as likely than fully vaccinated people to be affected by
the virus again.

EXPOSITORY ESSAY

Last but not least, what can you do to protect yourselves and prevent the spread of
disease? In order to do that, you can reduce your chances of being infected or spreading
Covid-19 by taking some simple precautions. Firstly, you must regularly and thoroughly
wash and always keep your hand clean with an alcohol-based hand rub such as hand
sanitizer or just wash your hand with soap after doing something as it helps to kill
viruses that might be on your hands. Moreover, keep social distancing whenever you are
in public. You have to keep a safe distance of at least 1 metre which means 3 feet away
from the people to avoid getting the virus just by talking and chatting too close. The
virus is contained in saliva droplets and can be transmitted by breathing at close range,
particularly when the cough, sneeze or have a fever. Not only that, avoid touching eyes,
nose and mouth as hands that touches many surfaces could pick up viruses. Once it
contaminated, hands can transfer the virus to your eyes, nose and mouth. From there, the
virus can enter and spread into your body and can make you sick. Most importantly, you
need to make sure that people around you are following good hygiene. This means by
covering your mouth and nose with your bent elbow or tissue when you cough or using a
medical mask for a better safety. By following this good respiratory hygiene, you could
protect the people around you from getting affected. In addition, avoid shaking hands
and hugging whenever you meet anyone as it helps virus spread severely through physical
touch. You should stay at home as much as possible by following the rules indicated by
the authorities but you will be allowed to go out whenever you need to by groceries and
necessecaries such as going to work to earn some money to survive as some people
couldn’t do the job from home. For example, a cleaner and factories. Plus, if you ever
feeling sick, has difficulty breathing, you must seek medical attention immediately to
avoid any circumstances. This will also protect you and help to prevent the spread of this
disease and other infections. Through this precautions, you will be able to go out
anywhere you wanted to go during the pandemic after this issue gets better, sooner or
later.
