From the Principal's Desk
It gives me immense pleasure in placing this year’s issue of Annual Journal ‘The Ajeet’ in the hands
of anxious readers.
The School Journal not only provides an opportunity to the budding talents to unwind their
imagination but also holds a mirror to the manifold curricular and co-curricular activities carried
out in the School throughout the year. It is, in fact, a forum to exchange the views and a platform
to showcase the news of the yesteryear.
Since its establishment in 1963, Sainik School Bijapur has been rendering yeoman service in
grooming the young cadets for a career in the Armed Forces. The gamut of manifold activities on
both academic and non-academic fronts provides holistic grooming for multifaceted personality.
The large community of alumni who are serving as leaders in Defense Services as well as other walks of life bear ample testimony to the academic
excellence, discipline, commitment and the value system instilled in them by this ‘Cradle of Learning’.
The educational needs of today are very different from those of the past because of growing competition and the progress in the field of science and
technology. The school therefore has undertaken a great leap in integrating information and communication technology into the class room teaching
and learning process. We have been making sustained efforts to motivate our cadets to opt for a career in Armed Forces in tune with the aims and
objectives of the Sainik Schools. We have undertaken a series of effective steps to bring about qualitative improvement in training programmes. I am
sanguine that these measures will go a long way in enhancing our contribution to N.D.A. in particular and improving the academics in general.
On the occasion of the publication of this magazine, I would like to convey my best wishes to the Cadets and Staff in their endeavor to take this
institution to the greater heights of glory.

The vision of this erudite institution is creation of an environment with a view to inculcating a
value-based education that helps in all round development of the cadets.
It is here that we propel the cadets towards their intended goal. Sainik School Bijapur is the most
favored destination for the young children of the state, who prefer a career in the officer cadre
of our Armed Forces. Here education is imparted in a way which enables the cadets to become
whole and healthy individuals. Here the cadets are equipped with the skills required to face the
challenges of life.
The School activities are planned and prepared meticulously giving equal importance to academics,
curricular & co-curricular activities. This institution offers opportunities to cadets to explore their
interest and investigate new ideas.
Albert Einstein said “Education is not about learning facts but training young minds to think”. We work towards holistic development of our cadets
by providing them tools and experiences that encourage our cadets to think. It is here that we create empowered minds so that the cadets to think. It
is here that we create empowered minds so that the cadets are able to decide what is good for them, differentiate between right & wrong. It is here
that we impart an integrated education that help the cadets to unleash their potential and enable them to soar to success.
I take immense pride in acknowledging the team work and efforts of all cadets & teachers. The ‘Ajeet-2020’ unfolds the cadets imagination & gives
life to our thoughts and aspirations.

“Each moment holds a treasure in itself and when these moments are realized filled with
principles and competence, they seem to have an everlasting impact.”
As the administrative officer of this Premier institution I am proud to share that this institution
has set landmarks to emulate. It will be my sincere endeavor for Sainik School Bijapur to initiate
a fresh commitment for further excellence and focused intellectual scheduling. My team will
strive hard to provide the best of training facilities and decent living conditions so that our
cadets can scale new heights of excellence.
A note of sanguinity tells us that however difficult a task that lies ahead, the chord of perseverance
will lift to overcome the hurdles. I take this opportunity to compliment the editorial team for
bringing out such a wonderful edition of school journal ‘The Ajeet’.

A Thoughtful Companion
When you read a book, it feels great to put your self into a world, the writer has created for you. The habit of
reading good content daily will keep your mind positive, fresh, fit and flexible. Reading a book does not mean
that you read a book in English, it could be in any language where you can feel comfortable. If you have never
given a chance to read then remember that it’s never too late to start a good habit.
Each and every person gets connected to the books right from birth. The first book of a person is the mother.
Mother tells stories and lullabies to their children at bedtime. Books are medium to transport us to another
world, they may look like pages full of dull print, but to me they open the door to a wonders world of magic,
mystery, love, happiness which are created through a fantastic interplay of words.
In a way, books are like my well wishers who help and support me just like my friends, sometimes better
than my friends. Books are my company which helps me to escape from the real world. You can do anything you
want inside the pages of a book with no consequences. You can be whoever you want, man or a woman, adult
or a woman, the hero or a villain. You can save, hurt or kill wisest person or foolish in your book. With books
the loyalty is assured, as it keeps secrets like a best friend, safe and secure.
From my childhood books are always been and will be my best friend. They makes me think and respect
others feelings and appreciate the world. Books induces strong feelings in me and keep me engaged as you
know that “An idle mind is a demons work shop.”
Books are like gold mines. They correct us when we go astray and amuse us when we are bored and give us
a pleasant company. When we feel bored or lonely, they take us to a place which we have never seen, the height
which we never felt and at land which we never imagine. Select books as your best friend because books can
provide company in good or bad times and teach a lesson.
Reading book is one of the best hobbies a person can take up. It is recreation and enhances our creativity adding to that the best entertainment in
our leisure time because there is no friend as loyal as books.
It doesn’t matter what kind of books you read but you must make sure that you choose books which have sense, it could be anything, about
friendship, enmity or autobiography, which would bring a change in your self.
