Sainik School Bijapur is one school which every visitor
to the school is impressed with, especially due to the
unmatched layout and infrastructure. The school has
been able to attract some of the best talent in the
country, a few of whom I am sure have contributed
toward the creative harvest of this magazine.
A school journal encapsulates the various events,
activities, accomplishments of the year in words
and photographs which serve both as memories and
motivators for the present lot and for posterity. The
best performances and experiences of the school find
an echo in these pages. The dramatis personae in here
- which is almost everyone on the school’s rolls- are

overtaken by feelings both of novelty and nostalgia
every time they flip back to see what has been.

There is so much ingenuity and hard work behind
the making of a school magazine, though the process
itself appears humdrum and mundane. In that sense,
work in the editorial room is never quite done. The
moment this year’s magazine is released amidst the
usual gala and regalia, the team is already on the job
of putting together the next edition. Every ounce of
effort however has its gain, when we consider the
quantum of joy the magazine brings, not only to the
people it portrays, but also to their beloved ones at
home. Moreover it spurs everyone including those
mentioned in patches, the achievers as well as the
other readers to excel better.
I wish the Ajeets good luck and success in all their
ventures.

From the Principal's Desk ATjheeet

2019

It's matter of great pride and pleasure to be associated with this institution which has shaped
the destiny o f thousands of cadets particularly from lower strata of our society.

Sainik Schools are rendering yeoman service to the Nation by preparing the young and budding
cadets for entry into NDA and INA. They have thus been the nurseries to potential Leaders and
future Commanders of our elite Armed Forces. There is an emphasis to make discipline a core
value through a well planned Academic Schedule, House System, various Inter School & Intra
School competitions and Sports activities. We stress upon the values of tolerance and respect for
each other's culture and religious beliefs. Discipline, Values and Integrity are the very foundation
of this school.

Globalization and increasing diversity in homosapien's needs has generated an enhanced
demand for competitive skills. Our earnest effort is to provide cadets with an education that
allows them to recognise and realise their 'dreams' and skills and to be able to ignite the passion
within, to excel.

While studying at Sainik School, the cadets are groomed to become confident, articulate and
enlightened young citizens who are ready to step into global society with dignity, honour and
integrity. We believe in giving our cadets strong values along with a set of wings which may carry
them far and wide. In other words, our cadets are equipped to face the challenges of the rapidly
evolving world.

There has been a series of effective steps to upgrade the infrastructure and bring about a
qualitative improvement by undertaking a number of projects. I am sanguine that these measures
will go a long way in enhancing our contribution to NDA and INA in particular and augmenting
the living standards in general.

Each issue of our School Magazine is a milestone that marks our growth, unfolds our
imaginations, and gives life to our thoughts and aspirations. It unleashes a wide spectrum of
creative skills ranging from writing to editing and even in designing the magazine. I congratulate

the entire editorial team and for all backstage personnel and cadets involved in the shaping of the
Magazine for hard work and dedication and wish each one of you a happy and joyful reading.

From the Vice Principal's Desk

It is indeed a matter of great pride and honour to be the Vice Principal of this esteemed
institution, where we have dedicated, innovative and caring staff members and cadets.

Today, the role of the school is not only to pursue academic excellence but also to motivate and
empower its students to be life long learners, critical thinkers and productive members of an ever
changing global society. We provide multifaceted development, where the cadets are encouraged
to channelize their potential in the pursuit of excellence. The talents, skills and abilities of each
cadet is identified, nurtured and encouraged so that he is able to reach greater heights.

The cadets are provided with a platform to think, express and exhibit their skills. This

institution of great repute inculcates strong values combining with academics and extra curricular
activities in the cadets. The school provides an amalgamation of scholastic and co-scholastic
activities while academic excellence is our major thrust. The school is also devoted to prepare
the cadets for life and to groom them to face the challenges of tomorrow. The cadets are offered
varied opportunities to explore their interests and investigate new ideas.

I am confident that the students of Sainik School Bijapur will make themselves stronger day
by day adding a new leaf to the grandeur of the school.

From the Administrative Officer's Desk

It is indeed an honour for me to have assumed office as the Administrative Officer of this
Iconic institution and pen a few lines in the columns of 'The Ajeet'. I am reminded of a beautiful
couplet or kural in Thirukkural by Saint Thiruvalluvar -"Think always of rising higher, Let it be
your only thought. Even if your objective is not attained, the thought itself will have raised you".

Sainik School Bijapur is considered as one of the finest of its ilk in the country as far
infrastructure and amenities are considered. Our aim as far as administrative matters are
concerned is manifold to improve the training facilities, the living conditions, a clean and litter
free campus and above all improve the infrastructure of the school.

I am happy that during the last couple of years, our school has undertaken a number of new
initiatives which have resulted in vibrant changes. Provisioning of renovated Staff Room and
Kanthi Auditorium has lent a new dimension to the working, learning and teaching process.
Artificial Lake Project was taken up to improve the bio diversity and ground water level of the
campus. A proposal to lay Internal Tar Roads in the campus and beautification of lake has been
sanctioned and the work will be executed in a short span of time.

I am sanguine that with the on going team work, Sainik School Bijapur will be able to achieve
greater heights and blaze new trails of glory. I would like to compliment the editorial team for
having brought out this excellent issue of 'The Ajeet'.

The Battle within me...

Sailing the savage seas of life That the mind was mine
Facing the waves of problems
Something tearing the ship a part So the war was mine, once and for all
Smoking thunder and anger
Came by the tornado & I truly won it
Standing by the giant leap
Stood still As I looked up with a
Staring into my eyes
Trying to assassinate my braveness Smoldering smile
With a deliberate effort
Convincing and poisoning my soul Into the eyes of the beast of sea
Slowly ….
Trying to bring out the worst out of me into Tornado the mightiest
existence
I stood confused and tensed It ranged into my ship
When the battle was going on
Not on the ship To destroy it with a leap
But in the very own mind of mine
As my mind shivered for a while And with a sailor’s dare
Then unexpectedly
I burst out laughing Courageous, smart and fair
With a very silly thing
I faced and dashed it with all

My might

Wrestling with my fears

With a ferocious roar

I broke into the storm

& then I realized that

That there was no beast of sea

But surely it was me

The battle within me…………..

I am trapped I was dragged by hands
I am a prisoner in the void
Avoid that was once mine Unknown to me
Now someone else’s
It controls me Their eyes gleaming with
Makes me do things
I don’t want to Hunger and starvation
My fingernails are lilies
With blood Hands ready with a shiny
My body carved with an axe
The river reaching the sea Knife to clean my insides
Eyes pitched dark with solitude
My feet plastered to the ground Like a finger brushing a table
I was on the road to nowhere
Unaware of the driver Eating dust
I was drowning in an empty pond
Thorns were the only thing that met my eyes I shut down
My thoughts were lighted
Candles no breadth could blow I was robbed
Every day is a battle
Between me The voice proliferated
And the squeaky little voice
In the back of my head… I was stranger within myself
It prevailed every day
And I was thrown I wanted to crawl up
All the way down
To the small unexplored

Corners of the room

Where I would be robbed

I had left my body

My soul was the treat

Sitting at the corner

Something came by

Binding me with its luster

And shine

I blinked twice

And I know I was wise

To follow the light …………..
