SIGNATURE PROGRAMME TIER 3 COHORT 3 The third cohort for Signature Programme Tier 3 commenced on 31st January 2023, with the participation of 24 newly appointed principals, deputy principals, assistant headmasters and assistant headmistresses. It is a 10-month programme uniquely designed to build strategic planning capacity towards principalship. The programme employs the principles of social constructivism in its delivery - allowing a dynamic interaction between the facilitators, learners and tasks where the responsibility of learning resides increasingly with the learners constructing their own knowledge and understanding in a virtuous learning cycle with others. This action-based programme combines practice, theories and research into its learning, and participants are required to gather what they have learnt throughout the 10 months and apply it to their At The Heart Of Strategic Planning Project at the end of their second semester. Signature Programme Tier 2 Cohort 1 2021 - 2023
As part of the Ministry’s effort to ensure high quality school leaders, the Tier 2 Signature Programme is an initiative to build and strengthen leadership capacity among senior masters and senior mistresses in schools. The Signature Programme helps to equip and upskill the Tier 2 participants in eleven competencies through social constructivism and action learning approach. The inaugural cohort of twenty-five senior masters and senior mistresses attended 212.5 hours of professional development spanning over five semesters, starting with a networking session on 19th January 2021 which was attended by their school leaders as well. About Signature Programme Tier 2 Cohort 1 As part of their social constructivism learning, participants did a Capstone group project working with hosting schools to identify the root courses of certain gaps relating to students’ performance using the Gap Analysis Model by Clark and Estes(2008). The objectivesofthe Capstone group project are: • To provide an authentic and action-based learning platform for participants to collaboratively study on performance gaps and challenges in relation to knowledge, motivation or organization root causes of the schools; • To provide new insights to hosting schools in their performance gaps while working collaboratively with Capstone teams. 12

Signature Programme Tier 1 Cohort 1 2021 - 2023
To support the development of school leaders in Brunei, the Tier 1 Signature Programme aims to inspire and empower leaders who are well-equipped to address the challenges of the education landscape. Our goal is to create a community of influential leaders who will shape the future of education and drive positive change in their schools. A total of sixteen Head of Departments partake in the inaugural Tier 1 Cohort 1 Signature Programme which covers 292.5 hours of professional development for a period of 6 semesters which started with a networking session on 26 January 2021. As a requirement for this program, all participants undergo a rigorous and hands-on approach to learning. One of the key highlights of the program is the completion of a comprehensive Lesson Study. This process allows participants to collaboratively plan, observe, and analyse lessons, enhancing their instructional leadership skills and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. The objectives of the Lesson Study are to lead a group of teachers to identify critical aspects of the object of learning and plan lessons collectively. The School Leadership Programme The training courses in the School Leadership Programme are mapped to the Brunei Darussalam School Leadership Standards and Competency Framework, which aims to enable school leaders to advance and master their set of leadership competencies. The School Leadership Programme provides opportunities for continuous professional development to school leaders holding various leadership positions in schools.
