of Fisk,
It is with
much
gratitude that
I offer my
sincerest
thanks to
each of you
for your generous support of Fisk
University during our 2016-2017
fundraising campaign.
Because of you, our students are able
to dedicate themselves to achieving
excellence in the classroom, in the
community by way of community
service, and beyond; largely in part to
your continued support.
As I continue my journey as the 16th
President of Fisk University, it is my
hope that you will consider investing
in Fisk. Our journey, thus far, includes
many, many accomplishments that
could not have been possible without
the outpouring of support from alumni,
our students, our faculty and staff, and
the many friends of Fisk University that
have been committed to seeing the
institution thrive.
The doors of Fisk are always open to
you and I thank you for your continued
support of our beloved Fisk University.

a very productive impact. I am thrilled
about the appointment of Dr. Kevin
Rome - a proven leader whose
experience and vision is sure to bring
about a bright future for Fisk.
Not withstanding, President Rome will
need all of our support as we prepare
for the next 150 years. It is my hope
that you will continue with your
generous gifts and goodwill to further
grow the momentum and ensure that
Fisk University continues to cultivate
the scholars and leaders of tomorrow.
Your support is not only an investment

Futures
The Fisk Future is off to a great start. However, the
coming years will be important as we strive to
become the number one HBCU in the country. To this
end, we will focus on several key strategic
areas including enrollment, academic programs,
professional development and facilities. We will need
your support as we seek to tackle each of these areas
and create the most extraordinary experience for the
Fisk students of tomorrow.
Fisk’s transformational impact on the lives of its
students remains as strong as ever and thanks to your
support we look forward to the years ahead.
2016-2017 was a special year with fundraising
totals surpassing the previous year by almost 30% and
alumni giving participation increasing by
nearly 40%. Together, we can make this the year Fisk
reaches new heights.

which Fisk students can engage local, regional,

professional development and networking.
“For the past three years, the Student Advisory

ENACTUS TEAM
The Enactus organization represents a
community of student, academic, and
business leaders committed to using
the power of entrepreneurial action to
transform lives and shape a better and
more sustainable world. The Fisk University
Enactus organization is proud to be
involved in a variety of projects. One of
their larger programs is the Eastern St.
Thomas Development Project. To date, St.
Thomas is the poorest parish in Jamaica,
where the poverty rate has nearly doubled
since 2008. Residents of this community
have few sources of income. The Enactus
project focuses on lowering unemployment
and poverty rates in the community of

Fisk students in entrepreneurial studies and
we are excited about launching a series of
new entrepreneurial initiatives this year.
