PANEER THAI RED CURRY
It’s a fusion dish that combines the Indian flavors of paneer with the
tempting Thai flavors of red curry. Here’s a simple recipe for you:
Ingredients:
• 200g paneer (cottage cheese),
cubed
• 1 small onion, sliced
• 1 small bell pepper, sliced
• 1 cup coconut milk
• 2-3 tbsp Thai red curry paste
(adjust to taste)
• 1 tsp ginger paste
• 1 tsp garlic paste
• 1 tbsp vegetable oil
• 1 tbsp soy sauce
• 1 tbsp brown sugar (adjust to
taste)
• Fresh basil leaves, for garnish
• Salt, to taste
Instructions:
• Heat vegetable oil in a pan and sauté sliced onions until translucent.
• Add ginger and garlic paste, and sauté for another minute.
• Stir in Thai red curry paste and cook for a minute until fragrant.
• Add the sliced bell pepper and sauté for a few minutes until slightly
softened.
• Pour in coconut milk, soy sauce, and brown sugar. Mix well and let it simmer
for 5-7 minutes.
• Add the paneer cubes and gently stir to coat them with the curry sauce.
Simmer for another 5 minutes.
• Taste and adjust the seasoning with salt and more brown sugar if needed.
• Once the paneer is heated through and the flavors have melded, remove
from heat.
• Garnish with fresh basil leaves.

Gadar-2 August Cover Story
Tara Singh, Sakina, and Jeete return to entertain us in Gadar 2. The film is an official remake of the
2001 blockbuster, Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel, and Utkarsh Sharma reprise
their roles. Anil Sharma directs Shaktiman Talwar’s story again. Loosely inspired by the story of a Sikh
soldier, Boota Singh, a Sikh soldier who served the British army during their colonial rule of India,
Gadar: Ek Prem Katha became one of the highest-grossing Hindi films of that year. The film was pitted
against “Lagaan” and became the biggest money-spinner since “Hum Aapke Hain Kaun.” Gadar: Ek…
is the most-watched Hindi movie since 1990 in India. For the shy portrayal of Tara Singh, Sunny Deol
was awarded that year’s Filmfare award for the best lead actor category. Ameesha won the Filmfare
Special Award and was also nominated for best actress for that year.
The Premise:
Tara Singh’s family faces torture and is brutally butchered as they leave hurriedly for Amritsar after the
Partition of India by the British. Tara Singh, along with his friends plans to butcher the perpetrators and
their kin. He stops after seeing his college mate, Sakina. Although they belong to different communities,
Tara and Sakina get married and have a son named Jeete. Tara goes back to the now-independent
Pakistan to meet her family. Sakina is forced by her parents to remarry a boy of their choice, but she
rebels. Tara comes with his son and friends and rescues Sakina. They return to India to resume living
their lives.
“Gadar 2” is set against the “Crush India” campaign during the 1971 Indo-Pak war. The film is about
how Tara Singh goes to Pakistan to retrieve his son back from the Pakistani authorities. It promises to
be an action-filled patriotic period drama.
The emotion of patriotism can surpass many other human emotions as it appeals directly to the
identity of that person. The film industry realizes the psychology behind such a passion and several
movies that have appealed to this very emotion have found a special place in the hearts of people.
We enjoy and take pride in watching movies that showcase the heroic acts of our soldiers and
very interestingly the filmmaker and the film watcher resonate and, that is what makes the movie a

When we talk about the legendary singers of the Hindi film industry, we have a reverence towards their
musical knowledge, learn from their songs in several ways, and have a deep love for them. They were
undoubtedly the pioneers of playback singing in India. Singers from other languages also took a cue
from them and then developed their style later on. These were artists dedicated to the art of music
and music alone. One name among them stands out distinctly. He was a singer par excellence no
doubt, but also a composer, a producer, and an actor! Versatility was his middle name. He was also
a man who could make us laugh with his comical sense and make us cry with his soulful singing.
His name is synonymous with entertainment. He was a complete package indeed!
The name Kishore Kumar evokes a feeling of love and respect and puts a smile across your face. Even
in the dullest moments of your day, a single song by Kishoreda can pick you up. Kishoreda effortlessly
blended different styles of singing but made them his own. I dare to say, that he was irreverent toward
tradition. Where not many dared, he forayed with ease! He saw music as a way to communicate
rather than getting applauded. Several sounds that seemed like gibberish, strange voice modulations
just about anything to get the message across! How many singers could do that? I am a diehard
Rafisaab fan. I worship and learn from him, so much that I am wary of listening to Rafisaab’s songs
sung by someone else, however talented they are! But I will say this is what Kishoreda could convey
in a simple harkat, no other singer could. Take the song “Are rafta rafta dekho aankh meri ladi hai”.
Just the “hmm hmmm hmmm” sung in perfect tune conveys more than any number of lines! Where
Rafi melts you, Kishore connects with you!
