My Thoughts It's been a minute since I last worked on this series and I can never quite tell if we've reached the end of what our creative writer has given us. In this novella, we've put the worst of our thoughts behind us: Ella/Juliet is alive and well, and she and Warner have a chance at a happy ending. Although of course (hopefully?) you remember from the last book that it didn't end well. In an attempt to restore order, Kenji restored order by destroying buildings deemed dangerousthe building shut down and demolished... that housed the design studio that made Ella's dress. So... no wedding dresses... ouch! This, of course, sets the tone for everything in this novel. We watch them try to make these arrangements work and they just don't work. The wedding is postponed because the world is still in turmoil. We see Ella/Juliet being born, but Warner is so concerned for her safety that he won't let it. People are tearing them up at every turn and in every direction, and we wonder if they'll ever get what they've been waiting for. Do we want to believe that love will be enough for them, especially through all the books we've read about their beginnings, middles and present endings? but... looks like they'll just have to wait until another time as the need for order, power and unity takes precedence over romance. Of course, when I finished this book, as a reader, I went online to see if there was a sequel to this story, because if you remember, it was supposed to be an extended trilogy. Well, nothing else seems planned, but the ending here shows that more is needed. Is that Miss Mafi's game? She leaves us on yet another cliffhanger when she decides to continue the story - knowing we can get more or... do we just have an open ending? I don't know and it will bother me. I experienced emotional outbursts, I literally cried, laughed and laughed and sometimes all at the same time throughout the short story. It feels like an era is coming to an end and I'm not that willing to let it happen! I could feel Warningett's love flowing through the pages and making me stop reading so many times because it was so incredibly beautiful and adorable. I fell in love with these characters and this world a few years ago and it still has a huge impact on me. It has always been one of my favorite series and will always be! It's been such a wild ride and I'm so terribly sad it's over! But honestly, this novel was a really great and beautiful way to end an amazing series. tahereh knew how unhappy we were with my image and then created perfection by trusting me!
