River. Gold represents the “black
gold” discovered in 1901, a find that
initiated prosperity for Oklahoma.
The shield is a simplified emblem of
the Osage Nation. It honors Native
Americans forcefully relocated to
Indian Territory. The beige lower field
signifies the warmth of an inclusive
