The City College Academy Professional Preparation (CCAPP) services over 450 students. This year, the program is
graduating 71 students. The program requires students to maintain a minimum of 2.7 GPA while pursuing a career
in STEM. Of the students who are graduating, eight have already been accepted into graduate programs: two students
will matriculate into medical degree programs (M.D. and D.O.), three students will matriculate into Ph.D. programs,
and three students will matriculate into Nurse Practitioner Doctorate programs. Many of the students are recipients of
national scholarships and prestigious awards, such as the Barry Goldwater Scholarship. The CCAPP program is fund-
ed by the New York State Department of Education CSTEP Grant.

Nicole Martinez Santana graduated in February 2019. It took her three and half years to complete her bach-
elor’s degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. She was also a Search for Education, Elevation and
Knowledge (SEEK) Scholar. In 2016, she was inducted into the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. She is
also a member of Chi Alpha Epsilon, National Honor Society. Nicole was the 2018 recipient of the Ephraim &
Libby Banks Memorial Scholarship and Seek Research Fellowship.
