Pushkaram College of Agriculture Sciences was founded in 2016 by Lion Dr. K. 02
Rethinam MJF a leading industrialist, philanthropist and ardent lover of sports with a
missionary zeal to educate the rural masses of Pudukkottai District and its
surroundings in the latest agricultural practices.

The institution is affiliated to Tamilnadu Agricultural University – Coimbatore. It is
located in a sylvan setting at Thiruvankulam, Pudukkottai Nearer to TNAU
Research Center and KVK Vamban. Though the institution is located in a place of
historical importance, it is unite modern in its outlook, approach and day today
activities of teaching and learning. The sprawling campus houses well built class
rooms and other amenities of international standard. The learners will enjoy the
ambience. It would definitely be a home away from their homes. The institution
offers multi disciplinary courses and cross disciplinary programs for the benefit of
the students. The impetus given to extra curricular and co- curricular activities will
ensure the overall growth of the students.

EVENTS

Pushkaram College of Agriculture Sciences has been functioning since the academic year
of 2017-18, offering B.Sc.(Hons) Agriculture Course. The College was inaugurated on
October 8th 2017. Thiru S.Ramachandran, Industrialist and Philanthropist presided over
the function. District Collector , Thiru S.Ganesh and Thiru M.Rajagopal, Joint Director of
Agriculture participated in the function and felicitated. Actor, 'Padma Shri' Vivek also
participated in the function and delivered an inspiring speech.

equipments for the different disciplines of Agronomy, Plant breeding and Genetics, Soil
Science and Agricultural Chemistry, Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Extension, Seed
Science and Technology, Food Science and Nutrition, Agricultural microbiology,
Environmental Sciences, Plant Physiology, Computer Sciences, Audio-visual and Central
Instrumentation Laboratory.

It is a modern library with digital resources and stacks more than 5000 volumes on
various titles in different disciplines of Agronomy, Soil Sciences & Agricultural Chemistry,
Information Technology, Food Science, Horticulture, Seed Science and Agriculture
Economics etc. besides books on general subjects.

SALIENT FEATURES

The College campus is situated on the Pudukkottai – Alangudi State Highways Road, 7 km from
Pudukkottai hand 10 km from Alangudi.
There are frequent bus services – mofusil as well as city buses, to reach the College campus from both
the directions.
The College has spacious and smart lecture halls and well-equipped laboratories for conducting theory
and practical classes.
Required numbers of persons with Post Graduate and Doctorate Degrees in the respective
disciplines have been appointed as the Teaching Faculty.
The College has very good hostels for boys and girls separately with comfortable rooms to
accommodate the students. The rooms are furnished with two cots, two fans, two tube lights, and two
desks for writing.
The College has separate dining halls for boys and girls where delicious foods are served.
The hostels have good bathrooms and toilets with continuous supply of good quality water.
In the College farm, different crops of cereals, pulses, oil seeds, vegetables etc., are grown and the
students will gain good experience in cultivation practices.
