See It Through
When you’re up against a trouble, Meet it squarely, face to face;
Lift your chin and set your shoulders, Plant your feet and take a brace.
When it’s vain to try to dodge it, Do the best that you can do;
You may fail, but you may conquer, See it through!
Black may be the clouds about you And your future may seem grim,
But don’t let your nerve desert you; Keep yourself in fighting trim.
If the worst is bound to happen, Spite of all that you can do,
Running from it will not save you, See it through!
Even hope may seem but futile, When with troubles you’re beset,
But remember you are facing Just what other men have met.
You may fail, but fall still fighting; Don’t give up, whate’er you do;
Eyes front, head high to the finish. See it through!

Obituary
Theresa Lynne Curry was born in Fresno, California on August 14, 1962 to Rev.
Dr. L.K. Curry and the late Dorothy D. Curry. She was the third born and only
girl of four children. Theresa accepted Christ at an early age. She grew up in the
Emmanuel {God With Us) Baptist Church in Chicago, Illinois where she served
faithfully for many years.
Theresa graduated from Edward F Dunne Elementary School and Lindblom
Technical High School. She earned a Bachelor of Arts from Spelman College, a
Master of Arts Degree from Atlanta University and a Master of Education
Degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from Roosevelt
University. She also pursued Doctoral Studies in Education Curriculum
Design at Roosevelt University.
Theresa was married to the late Rev. Dr. Henry L. Mason, Sr. To this union, two
sons were born, Henry L. Mason, Jr. and John Lacy Mason. Her Sons were the
joy of her life! Theresa was passionate about the Lord and was a charter member
of Cornerstone Baptist Church of Peachtree City, Georgia, where her youngest
brother, Rev. Dr. Augustus T. Curry serves as Pastor. Theresa served in several
church ministries including the Cancer Support Group Ministry which she
organized with Dr. Frederick Durden of the Cancer Treatment Center of
America. Through this ministry, those with cancer and their family
members/caregivers are able to embrace support from the Church and
Community.
Theresa was employed as an Educator for over 30 years, serving in teaching
positions at Spelman College, Atlanta Area Tech, A.D. Williams Elementary
School and Robert Wallace Elemantary School (Chicago, IL). She served as the
Executive Director for The Jordan Evans Institute (Chicago, IL) and Director of
the Emmanuel Christian School (Chicago, IL.).
As Theresa was going through her second of three battles with cancer, her
oldest son, Henry, started Precious Hospice, an In-Home Healthcare and
Hospice Care Corporation with locations in Atlanta, Georgia; Chicago, Illinois
and Crown Pointe, Indiana. Theresa served as Executive Director and utilized
her gifts, talents and skills to educate communities on the importance of
utilizing one’s healthcare benefits for in-home healthcare and hospice.
In 2019, Theresa fulfilled a long-time dream by becoming a member of Alpha
Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. She loved her Alpha Kappa Alpha Sisters
and appreciated their love and service to others.
Theresa leaves to cherish her life and legacy, two sons, Henry L. Mason, Jr.
(Karia) and John L Mason; father, Rev. Dr. L.K. (Verdie) Curry; three brothers,
Lacy S. Curry, Don “DC” Curry and Augustus T. (Tonya) Curry; grandson,
Henry L. Mason III; nieces, nephews, a great niece, and a host of other loving
