NAMMA JITO
MAGAZINE
THIRD
EDITION

Freedom to communicate
is the first step to progress. The
success of any organization
majorly lies in its ability to effectively
and comfortably communicate with its
members. To bridge this gap while extending a
new hand of inclusivity, the JITO Chennai Chapter has
endeavoured to launch a magazine called “NAMMA
JITO” which will be published quarterly.

This magazine will turn a new leaf in the way members can connect with the on-goings
of the Chapter. Not only will information be circulated and awareness disbursed, but
this magazine will act as an engaging medium by ensuring that the voices of members
by way of feedback or suggestions or even blogs are heard and incorporated. It is in
unity and togetherness that we will be able to empower each other and truly achieve
the purpose of JITO.

The NAMMA JITO team is dedicated to deepening connections between the Chapter
and members and between members too.

Let’s connect, let’s share and let’s grow.

Building Future Leaders!!

Hemanth Jain, Anil Jain & Lalith Kumar Dangi

Knowledge is power. Information is liberating. Education is the premise of progress, in every society, in every family—Kofi
Annan, erstwhile Secretary-General, UN.

JITO has 3 important tenets that act as an umbrella for its initiatives and Projects, each strategically aimed at the holistic
empowerment of Jains globally. The pandemic has shown the world to be disruptive while also adaptive to change. The future
will definitely belong to those who arm themselves with knowledge and leverage it.

About JATF: With an understanding of a knowledge-empowered future, JITO initiated the JATF project under its banner. The
JITO Administrative Training Foundation (JATF) is one of the flagship projects of JITO that focuses on facilitating services to
young aspirants and students. This Project, anchored on the tenet of “Knowledge”, aims to build strong and ethical young
leaders of tomorrow. In essence, it is a Jewel in the CROWN OF JITO. Incepted in 2008, the JATF Project over the years
has come to facilitate services in diverse fields. Facilities like hostel accommodation, guidance and mentorship, tie-ups with
institutes to provide coaching, educational loan and much more is available to aspiring young Jains.

JATF, thus, offers the following:
1. SEED (Student’s Empowering Education & Development): Provides interest-free loans to underprivileged or deserving
students who wish to pursue Graduation, Post-Graduation and other job-oriented vocational courses. Loan up to Rs. 3 lacs is
given for Post-graduation courses and up to Rs 1 lakh for Graduation courses or other job-oriented vocational courses. To date,
Rs 8.42 crores worth of loan has gotten disbursed to 718 students.
2. PACE (Public Administration & Civil Services Enhancement): Provides coaching and mentorship to youth who aspire to
make a career in Civil Services;
3. BEAT (Bank Probationary Officers Exam’s Aptitude Training): Provides coaching and training to aspiring youth;
4. JELP (JATF Education Loan Program): JELP gives financial assistance to students in the form of interest subsidy on
educational loans taken by them from banks or recognized NBFCs. Interest subsidy at 6% provided for loan amount up to Rs. 4
lacs, or at 2% for loan amount above Rs. 4 lacs. To date, an interest subsidy of Rs. 3.04 crores have been paid to 2,595 students.
5. JATF IIT: Provides coaching and mentorship for students who wish to get into IITs and NITs; a dedicated hostel for the same
is fully functioning in Kota, Rajasthan.
6. Judiciary services: Provides coaching and mentorship to law graduates aspiring to become a Civil Judge or a Magistrate at
its Centre in Delhi. This segment was added in 2019;
7. Online Education Facility “E-Svadhyaya”:
Adapting to the pandemic times, JATF decided to go digital to benefit students aspiring to make a career in Administrative
Services. This online portal provides a free-of-cost educational facility and has been operational since 20th September 2020.
Over 1000 students have benefitted from it to date.

As students are groomed in an environment amicable and encouraging for their preparation, they immensely benefit from
the above facilities. Over the years, the results have been nothing but exemplary! The JATF hostels are spread across the
country and are successfully run owing to the altruistic contributions of 272 Patron members.

JATF HOSTELS - Helping nurture successful young talent:

Speculated third wave and the need for amping up vaccination

Dr V Ramasubramanian
The third wave of the pandemic is inevitable and speculated to occur anytime by the end of the year. The extent
of its severity is, however, unknown.
There is an urgent need to amp up the vaccine accessibility and have people complete the two doses of it at the
earliest; the main reason for this being the emergence of highly infective mutants. Intuitively, the Delta Plus
variant can trigger another surge in India if the complete course of the vaccine uptake gets delayed. It is believed
that two doses of Covishield would give protection of 60% against the Delta variants.
The Delta variant was first identified in India in December 2020 and was believed to have been responsible for the
second wave. It was more severe in terms of its symptoms and complications, thus, leading to severe infections
in younger persons without comorbidities. It was highly probable that it could have a better ability to resist
conventional treatments. It was believed to be 70% more infectious than the British (Alpha) variant and 100%
more transmissible than the original Wuhan virus.
The Delta Plus variant could be more sinister in terms of its infectiousness and transmissibility as it has mutations
over and above the Delta Virus. It’s characterised by the presence of mutations in the spike protein, which
attaches itself to the receptor in the human respiratory tract. The virus predominantly spreads through droplets
and to a limited extent by air. It’s therefore highly possible that this variant may respond less effectively or shall
rather be resistant to existing available treatment and monoclonal antibodies. The current vaccine efficacy, thus,
may also be compromised against the Delta Plus variant.

Completing both doses of vaccination could ensure better protection against the variants.

5-Step Framework to Build Your Personal and Business Brand on Social Media

Priyank Jain

Going digital has become the new norm. Building your personal brand and a business brand has become of prime importance these
days, and the pandemic could not have highlighted this better. Below mentioned is the 5-step framework that can help entrepreneurs
and professionals alike grow their income, impact, and influence on social media.

“A Personal and Business Brand is nothing but REPUTATION”.
When people hear your name, what is the first thing that comes to their minds? Think about this. Most successful people consciously
work towards building their reputation. Be it in front of their customers, employees, investors and all other stakeholders involved.
They consider this as a duty to perform. Building a personal and business brand, therefore, is indispensable for any business to thrive.

Building your brand can help you with the following five attributes:
1. Building your authority;
2. Building trust with your target audience;
3. Building your credibility in the marketplace;
4. Giving you a massive competitive edge;
5. Making your process of selling very simple.

The beauty of social media is that it helps you reach thousands and millions of people with the click of a button. Social media thus has
enabled businesses and professionals to build their brands and reach out to previously inaccessible opportunities.

Here’s the 5 step-by-step process:

Step 1: Identify your brand:
When you show up online, you need to show up as your most authentic version that inspires your audience to know, like, and trust
you. Therefore, you need to have clarity in communicating these points:
1. What are your strengths and passions?
2. What is your purpose for doing what you are doing?
3. What is the problem that you are solving for your audience?
4. What makes you unique?

Step 2: Identify your Ideal Client Avatar (ICA):
A brand is not about YOU. It is wholly in service to your ideal customers. Knowing your ideal customers is crucial as all your
messaging, content, and audiovisuals will get targeted at them. You need to survey your ideal customers to find their pain points,
desires, mindset, habits, etc. The more you know them, the better you’re able to grow your presence and become influential.

Step 3: Launch your brand online:
You will need to build your online presence so your target audience can find your content and connect with you.
1. Find out the right platforms that your ideal customers use frequently, and that’s according to your business; it can be Facebook,
Instagram, Youtube, LinkedIn, Twitter etc.
2. Build your website. You don’t have to be present on every platform but experiment with many and double down your efforts at
those working for you.

It is advisable that you start by focusing 80% on one platform and its growth and the remaining 20% in the distribution of content
on others initially.

Step 4: Create a content strategy:
Content is the key ingredient to building your brand. Your content (text, graphics, video, or audio) needs to be relevant, helpful, and
problem-solving to resonate with your target audience. You can work towards creating:
1. Broad content focused on building your persona and relationship with the audience, like motivational and personal stories, beliefs,
mindset, life experiences, etc.
2. Niche content that positions you as an expert of a particular niche, like marketing, branding, health and fitness, business expert,
etc.

Step 5: Monetization strategy:
There are many ways of monetizing your personal brand, but ultimately it boils down to what works best for your business.
For example, you can monetize by promoting products and services of yours or others, i:e; affiliate marketing. You can also sell
content marketing, webinars, e-commerce stores, running targeted ads, video marketing, cold outreach on LinkedIn etc.

The above 5-step framework will help you launch, build and monetize your personal brand. It will make you stand out in this noisy
marketplace and position you as the go-to expert in your industry.
